I hope Firm, Treasure, and company have a worthwhile successful summit but I'm betting it will turn to violence of the non-kinky variety. Psst.. don't let Termy bring any guns...

Johnny Walker Black is pricey but an exclusive single malt like Middletons might be a better option for the stereotype of the wealthy conservative!

You know i see other threads posted about CM people getting together etc, but i have to say that this one is the ONLY one that has ever made me say -- now this would be a interesting get together.    I hope it goes through as i think it would do ya'll some good to sit down and have a beer together lol.

Dont move it for me, distance isnt that much of a factor for us.

It would be an honor to meet you personally Firm, and I am sure it would be fun and educational to meet a few of the characters behind several of these other avatars as well.

Make my drink a double espresso with a French Roast coffee chaser (with an occasional Red Bull in the afternoon) and I will try hammering out the details so that we may attend.

I'm open to the location, although I think - except for the CA members - that a preponderance of the people are from the "east".

You have to attend, Sanity.

Why not combine the tabs for all the beer, and negotiate on how it gets paid?

It's a thought.  As is a "Western" and "Eastern" Summit.

We are really open to ideas.

We really don't care where it is.  Treasure and I are "rich" according to some posters: we have enough spendable income to pick up and fly pretty much anywhere we want, whenever we want.

But we realize that won't be true for all people.

Treasure and I are thinking of hosting, or planning a P&R "Summit" sometime next year, for interested members of the cellar.

We envision a pre-election meeting, on neutral ground somewhere in the "mid-east" of the US (east of the Mississippi, somewhere north of the Gulf of Mexico, south of the Great Lakes).

Liberals, conservatives and independents would be welcome.

The accommodations would be two hotels close to each other, such as a Motel 6 and a Hilton Suites, so each person could chose based on their political leanings and financial situation.  If we could find a place with a KOA campground, that might help, too.

I see a Friday afternoon unofficial "get together" with food and drink, and no agenda.

Saturday (not too early in the am) would consist of a "liberal" event, and then a "conservative" event.  Independents would have something, too, if there were enough of them.

Saturday night would be the "official" dinner, with prizes and awards.

Sunday would be open, for personal interaction or travel.

I'd be interested in feedback, and interest.  If we can come up with enough interest, then I'll consider setting it all up.

Firm

You are very brave, Firm-O-Nator! I would love to meet some of the P&R posters and right before the election, too. What a hoot! I have no idea where I'll be next summer but if I could make it happen, I certainly would.

I think we should just make lockedaway pay for all the beer.

::runs and ducks::

Come on, dude.. you KNOW that was funny.

I like the idea, Firm, though jetting cross-country for the weekend might put more of dent in the vacation budget than would be prudent.

True, but I was thinking of doing it so that those who work during the week might attend, and others might combine it with a longer vacation, and this would be the end or beginning of that vacation.

No one is saying that you only have to stay the couple of days.

Treasure and I often combine business with pleasure, such as our trips to Montreal.  In a couple of months, we have to give some seminars in New England, and are going to stay three extra days in Boston to check out the historical stuff.

Of course, the travel and much of the expense will all be tax-deductible.

Firm

If the location was Vegas, I would be there, but maybe for save that for a sequel (if there are enough survivors, and the probation officers will let the first year participants leave the state  ).  I think you have the right idea, though.  Find a place within a tank of gas or two distance for the largest number of possible attendees.

If Termy comes and is willing to play draw and holdem for rolls, I pay for all the beer.

Firm.. gimme about a 6 month heads up.. and I should be able to bank travel funds and time off...

(travel funds at this point means getting my POS vehicle as road ready as it possibly can be for the drive to ATL....*sigh*)

Greedy,

Don't worry.  Treasure and I will try our best to make sure you get there.

LV would be good for a lot of reasons.  Flights are relatively cheap.  We wouldn't have to stay at a strip hotel, and could get a pretty good deal for rooms, I think.  And there are loads of free things to do, that cost little or nothing.

Ok, here are some suggested locations:

1. Las Vegas (lots to do and see)
2. Near Washington DC  (lots to do and see - historical and political)
3. Atlanta (lots to do and see ... plus it's close to me!)
4. Nashville (near my old stomping grounds.  Country Music, Al Gore's home)
5. Kansas City, Missouri (Jazz, BBQ, central location)
6. Jacksonville, FL (on the ocean, near Orlando and Disney)
7. Cincinnati (home of Larry Flynt, Jerry Springer, lots of museums -  center of the east US)

Vegas is also home to the best high end fetish gear Ive seen in the US.

http://www.peselectro.com/

If there is interest in Vegas I can try and talk to a client about room rates. Depending on the time of year and days of week a strip hotel could be cheaper than the alternatives.

Never been to the Lair, but Pleasure Chest isnt even the same universe of quality as The Studio.
