Ya know what? There are PLENTY more than a 'a few hundreds twens' involved at this point and IT REALLY TAKES coming to the GAs and getting involved to figure that out. But I would think by now even you armchairs would be able to understand there was a very substantial buy-in by a large portion of the middle class. When there is a big call to action, more people than ever. And don't be shocked when the wider picture becomes more apparent in the warmer weather. The middle class isn't famous for camping out past labor day.
I am just thankful that the Republican Primary is yielding such a novelty store performance. Because it will offer Americans PLENTY of incentive to get off their asses again in the spring.
You can say whatever you want about the people who stayed out there for so long and continue to do so. They're at least doing something from outside 'the command center'.

Come down here and help me move a 2500 sq.ft. house to a townhouse, WHILE fixing everything that has been deferred because of a fucking hole in my heel the size of a golfball, which still isn't healed in two years. Frankly? This business of making dopey remarks about drum circles and then waxing nostalgic about SDS on The Mall? That's great and SDS shortened the Vietnam War by years no doubt... Course they took 1/2 a year to put that march together from concept to execution. I had two sisters in SDS in the late 60s and I can remember every discussion in the den about marches and plans, and all that crap. It took serious time to get there. These guy curtailed albeit temporarily SOPA ... I guarantee big hitters like google wouldn't have cared and threw their hat in if this movement had 'no effect'. And I can't tell ya how many times I have gotten the piss back from some genius with NO CONCEPT OF RECENT HISTORY... that "OWS didn't come up with "Bank Transfer Day"" And their right, their just too fucking stupid to realize that people have tried to do that every year or two since the ATM card came out. So what was different in 2011? Who exactly did the very abrupt mass proliferation of where the information was and how to do it? And what gave everybody the fucking gumption to finally DO IT?
See what I mean? The storm is just heating up. And we're at the stage where they are worried enough of us are on board and they're seeing what bones they can throw. The problem is... The dog won't eat from the bone this time. The dog wants a meal.

BTW - I wasn't aware there was a physical reason you aren't at it. But wherever you're getting your info it ain't cuttin it. I do GAs frequently in person and when I can't, I am in there through the IRC. And contrary to the picture you're painting of 'drum circles', Boston's been using it's new found leverage with the city to get homeless people off the street and to send a few hundred people to DC. And That's just Boston... the outlying communities are being organized for when the warm weather arrives again and we can bring all these groups together.
Oh, and there's a move afoot in Govt to cut mass transit down so that the commuter rails are unavailable much past rush hour and weekends. We have people canvassing and hounding the legislature to stop the move.
If they are slapping skins down south and getting all Trotsky n' shit, they aren't getting away with that crap at GAs if people are throwing blocks effectively. Those clowns can't get the time of day at the GA in Boston anymore.
My point? If you have time to shoot down the process from a keyboard, you have time to build from the same keys.

And my sincere apologies if I was hard in my wording. I happen to think you're a decent guy and normally agree with you.

Yeah, you're right. This is no time to contemplate the best course of action, or discuss what happened in the 60s/70s. (BTW, I'm glad your sisters imparted their revolutionary strategy and tactics to you. When I was 10, I was watching Superman reruns and the Beatles on Ed Sullivan).

It's evident that decrepit old farts like me don't have anything worthwhile to share. You younger folks seem to have everything in hand. And I don't care to get gassed again, or get a face full of capsaicin concentrate. Yep, I'm happy to bow out and turn over the reigns to the young folk, however they decide to go about things; bombs or bongos.

You seem to have done a pretty good job of leading the Occupy Movement so far, Skip. I'll just watch from my armchair here.

Read the info I gathered from an organizer of the Occupy Providence group. They said that the woman that organizes RI Anti-Sexism League may have thrown a few condoms onto the floor of the rotunda (apparently it's her trademark from parades and stuff).
   And take with a grain of salt EVERYTHING this Bracy (the guy who is the ONLY witness in the article) clown says. Back when I owned a house in Providence and was active in the community, he was throwing blood on Planned Parenthood's windows and making threat calls to the clinic and they don't even do abortions there. Just BC and OBGYN Services. He must be a test tube baby. And frankly, the purpose of the posting of the first article was to cast a Pall on the movement with little or no regard for the truth or 'catholic schoolgirls' ... Seeing that headline would make any hater hard or wet, depending on their plumbing.
   I am just glad Richard was up a little late (the guy is 80 now). I would take his word over anyone else in RI. He used to travel to Nicaragua and El Salvador when they were getting the shit blown out of them in civil war and shame Drs and Nurses into coming along and bring them all kinds of supplies and food. And they would before returning, buy up a all the coffee beans in the villages they would visit at prices the villages couldn't possibly get. And when they got back they would have a local coffee roaster prepare and package them for free, sell them in Amos House's "Sister City" one of the earliest 'fair trade' stores in the US.
   Given the fact that Richard would walk away from any movement or group that engaged the public in that way. I'd believe him over Fox Radio or Business Insider anyway. And if you read all three of the article one pattern becomes clear Barth Bracy is desperately trying to spread the issue anywhere he can.

Which was the same story that msla provided, I merely gave the originating source, that being a religious web site.

Even the Blaze states the following.. and they are hardly an Occupy lover...

The Providence Journal had a camera at the event and posted a video with the title “Abortion rights Occupiers crash RI Right to Life rally.” However the video is edited and without showing any of the chanting and disruptions alleged by Barth Bracy and Fr. Healey.

I am still waiting for that video. Have you ran across it? Have you bothered to look?

My response was to msla's automatic declaration that this event even took place as the article described.

I still say the pro lifers brought children into that group. To intentionally lable them as "Catholic school girls" when the video is heavily edited and cut short, as even a proponent of OWS admitted too.. and I bet that killed the Blaze to do so.

You also went on the assumption that the article was true. No evidence has been shown to prove it was... no pictures.. no video... no condoms.... yet I am supposed to get upset at the accusation that those "girls" had condoms thrown at them?

Again... yeah... I dont think so.

And that has what to do with throwing condoms on high school kids? Or your comment "And I am supposed to care about a group getting pelted with condoms who have repeatedly decried the use of said condoms until just recently... and then only to protect against Aids?"

I am aware that the prolifers can be absolute assholes when it comes to this issue, but the condoms were aimed at the kids and according to the post that started all this shit you think they should have thrown more.

Now I realize that you will ignore this and continue to post more pics and links that don't mean squat, but it is what it is and I am done with it.
