I am begging people to not take this thread off topic. I am really interested in the result.

If a pill were introduced for males that had the same benefits/risks as female oral contraception, would you take it?

Peace and comfort,

Michael

I don't think they would. They don't mind the risk for us, but they do not want to take it themselves. (guessing from being with men who don't want any/any more children but did not want to get "snipped" which is a one time deal and has no long term effects vs the pill.

It's also a medical procedure, which I, myself won't do nor would I ask it of my lady.

While I value your opinion on most matters, this question specifically says: MALES only. Please. Thank you.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Sorry Sunshine, but you dont get to choose who post where or what gender.. As much as you hate us wimmin folk and think we should only be around for you to fuck when you want.... We get to post just like you do...

Id adore a male pill..

But it wouldnt be a good idea since one main risks of the pill is an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes.. which men are more prone to...

DaddySatyr has never presented himself that way, at least not to my knowledge. That's a little over the top...
He just wants an idea of how many men who actually be willing to take a pill, which chicks can't answer.

Actually, if you read his posts lately, youd understand its not...

My opinion is just that, and the last i checked i was free to post where, when, and how i wanted anywhere i wanted, as long as it was within tos... And having or not having a dick wasnt a qualification in any of that...

none of what i said was a personal attack.. and if the mods feel it was the mods are free to remove or edit it as they feel necessary...

If that is the case, then why arent you saying the same thing about the birth control issues for women when men post there?

Its a two way street. No one can decide who posts on what topic, as long as they stay on topic.

OP.... I dont believe many men would, based upon the response of one here stating exactly what I believe many men would say... I gotta remember?

Until the day comes that men can get pregnant, this question is rhetorical.

And it's a moot point since women are the ones who get pregnant, they would have to trust in their partners to remember to take the pill every day. Hell, he doesn't even remember if he took his metformin ten minutes later most times.

i can't speak as whether men would or not, but as i'm as free to my opinion and to post it as anyone else......

i wouldn't trust a guy who told me he was on the pill just to get out of using a condom. my ex wanted sex without condoms after we had our son so he had the option; you get the snip or you use condoms. simple. i couldn't take the pill implants and wasn't going under a general for any op i would have to have to get my tubes tied. my sister-in-law at the time told me how selfish i was being by asking him to do that. well fuck that sweetheart. i didn't want anymore children and had been having abnormal cells for years, so there was no way i was going to put myself at further risk. he got the snip under a local and had discomfort for a couple of days. the upside was being able to have sex whenever and wherever we wanted with no further risks.

men don't seem to mind the risks women have to take to not get pregnant, or indeed the risk of being pregnant in itself, but alot still whinge at the thought of having the snip. that's exactly what my s-i-l's husband was like, but still wanted the unprotected sex

i wouldn't even trust most guys who say they are single let alone that they are on the pill.

While SR is taking some dramatic license, the context for her statement is here: http://www.collarchat.com/m_4037630/tm.htm

I have no problem with requesting that only men vote but of course women are going to comment.

Right. I didn't vote or take it off subject. I really did think the OP would be interested in everyone's point of view, and he's welcome to ignore the comments from the lowly females should he choose.

I never meant to imply that opinions could not be shared. That would be silly. If that was the way it was received I apologize.

Per your comments: it sounds to me like you just plain don't trust men, in general ("i wouldn't trust a guy who told me he was on the pill just to get out of using a condom." and "i wouldn't even trust most guys who say they are single let alone that they are on the pill") I would like to point out that you added the " ... just to get out of using a condom" part.

Yes, this thread was inspired by another where a bunch of women were suggesting that the sole onus of birth control should be on the males. I was trying to explain that if it's ultimately your body and ultimately, you don't want to have children then, there's a matter of personal responsibility. It seems to me that even if men could use a birth control pill, you ladies wouldn't trust them to. I feel sad for you women, meeting all those irresponsible, untrust-worthy people.

Of course, my opinion doesn't kiss the ass of the "pack". This makes me a "woman hater" and other vile things. Actually, it makes me a feminist. My contention has been that if you are that concerned about not getting pregnant, it's up to you to make sure that you don't because, obviously, your partners can't be trusted to do so.

As I stated, earlier: I will not go and get any procedure nor would I ask that of my partner.

For the record: My youngest son is 23 years old. I've always believed (for myself) that 30 was the cut-off age for bringing children into the world. In the ensuing years, I've never had an unwanted pregnancy occur. I've been with ladies that couldn't or wouldn't use the pill. I've been with ladies that used sponges. I've been with ladies that used IUDs and Norplant. I've been with ladies that have had hysterectomies.

In all of these cases, if there was any doubt in my mind that my partner was telling the truth about birth control or that their method was effective, I used condoms. Personal responsibility.

If a lady tells a man that she is on the pill and he fucks her, un-protected, he has no one to blame but himself, when she comes up, pregnant. By the same token, if you allow yourself to get talked into sex without contraception, you can't blame the man. You made the ultimate choice to allow it to happen. Personal responsibility.

There's a contingent here that has decided they don't like me and they're going to twist what I say and berate and demonize me. That's fine. They can live their lives in hate. They have that choice (They can also go soak their heads). I choose to ignore ignorance, closed-mindedness, and general misandry.

To the rest of you fine ladies ... as always ...

Peace and comfort,

Michael

personally, if there were a pill available for men when I was still able to get preggers, I'd have required my partners to take it. After all several forms of BC have a BETTER chance of working than just one, right?? oh, and slap a condom on, too.

I didn't take offense to it, but you def. did imply that (female) opinions could or should not be shared.

... and I've already apologized. I can do no more than that.

The only thing I meant to imply was that female opinions were not germane to my question. I already know what most of the women that post on these boards think about men and birth control. I was looking to hear from the men.

Again, I meant no offense but for the matter of this particular question, it just doesn't matter.

Peace and comfort,

Michael
