One of my favorite toys for use as a pain implement are my knives. Though I realize everyone has a preference. What kind of technique would be the most popular?

See LP about cutting....that's her biggest gig, she don't fuck around.

Oh yeah, that would be LadyPact....I forget that some people haven't been here forever and a half.

DesFIP -> RE: Knives in play (11/1/2013 10:54:14 AM)

Some people use them for mind fucks solely. Others for tracing over the body but no cutting. Others are into blood play. Some only use them for rape play, cutting off clothes. If you do that, be very sure she doesn't care about the clothing.

I like sharp things.

We use knives for sensation, poking, scratching, control. We have a lot of them, and we use them as often as we can.

We do some bloodplay too, but for that we use scalpels and other sorts of pre-packed sterilized medical equipment.

Except for the few accidental stabbings, any injuries caused by the knives are superficial.

I love having the tip of a knife run over my back, breasts or clit - that scratchy feeling. It has to be the right knife though - not too scratchy and not too smooth. My ex showed me the technique, to let the weight of the knife balance in your hand, so that it just rocks forward onto the skin - rather than pressing down.

I tried cutting, but it didn't feel as sexy as scratching, for me.

Grael -> RE: Knives in play (11/2/2013 3:51:17 AM)

So far a nice selection of ideas. Some I like others not so much. My own preference is to scratch without cutting. but have them blindfolded. You can really mess with a mind by scratching hard enough and dripping syrup (strawberry is a good choice for effect) behind the tip of the blade and then letting them see it.

sheisreeds -> RE: Knives in play (11/2/2013 1:37:33 PM)

Was sterilizing some of our favorites for tonight.

Yeah, we like knives.

So beautiful...

CuriousNovalist -> RE: Knives in play (11/5/2013 11:57:33 AM)

I only use one knife. I've had it since I was fifteen, and it has
become a big part of my life. It is dull, but can still cut, I like it
this way. This knife has seen much blood, others and my own.
I can't see myself every using a different blade.

I for one go for blood, and permeant scaring. I keep a first-aid
kit near during every session. I've gone through some training
in the medical field, and plan on more. My next goal is to get
certified as a phlebotomist. Love needles.

~FRing it~

Not a knife fan as it is due to being on medication for life that thins my blood. Bleeding es muy no būeno as Im sure you can see why.

I've heard that freezing a blade can give the sensation of being sliced open without actually being cut. A total mindfuck from what Ive been told. Haven't ever experienced it or done it though. So I can't say 100% for sure.

I watched a guy show his girl the knife collection and then blindfold her. After that he used the edge of a credit card and never went near his knives. She didn't have a clue.

Oh that'd suck... 2 minutes of play, 30 of holding pressure.

I'm doing a little teenie bit of knife play this weekend at the local dungeon. I'll have to remember to throw some of those instant cold packs in my bag, see if the freezing knife play theory holds up :O

LadyPact -> RE: Knives in play (11/6/2013 10:42:50 AM)

I wouldn't want to suggest which technique is the most popular. There are endless things that you can do with knives. Like sheisreeds, I do tend to prefer scalpels for cutting. (Nice collection, btw, s.) The blades are smaller and more precise.

To Me, knives are more about the feel, the look, and the fear. I particularly like them in combination with wax play. Not only are they great for getting the wax off of a person's body, depending on how you want the scene to go, you can take a person who is all dreamy and floaty after warm wax being poured on them to "Oh My God, what is she going to do with that?" There are a couple of knives that I use that are very dull just for that purpose. Excellent scene just this past weekend from doing this exact thing.

MissImmortalPain -> RE: Knives in play (11/6/2013 11:05:20 AM)

I am an avid fan of all things sharp and pointy. I am normally a cutter and am thrilled that the new boy shakes just at the thought of me getting the knives out when he is around. We did a little play awhile back where I tied and blindfolded him. I then used the knife he carries for work to slap(flat side of the blade) the insides of his legs until they were numb. When he got to the point that he couldn't feel what I was doing he admitted that he was scared I was going to cut something a tad higher than the inside of his legs. I have also found the my nails are very good at fooling someone that can not see into thinking that I am pressing knife points against them rather than using an actual knife. My nails can also draw blood. Which I have been informed by the honey bee is why he always get scared when I start talking about anything sharp hahaha. I find that giving a sub a knife to carry with them then later using it in play is also an interesting way to force a mindfuck into play. There are so many fun ways that sharp things can be used that I wouldn't want to suggest just one.

I did that with our fem sub once. She saw the flash of the knife before the blindfold was pulled over her eyes and then told to keep very, very still whilst I carefully inserted it inside her. It was of course, just the back of a spoon handle but she tried so hard to keep still I had to remind her to breath!!

I have a beautiful set of throwing knives which I have always used for knife play (never involves cutting). Each knife was made for the purpose and has been specially weighted so that when you stand it on its tip, the weight will cause different degrees of discomfort.

I'm really into cutting and suturing as well as skin removal scarification but I don't call that knife play. Like someone else here said, its done with a very sharp surgical scalpel. Skin removal is a beautiful form of body mods which in my opinion looks much nicer than branding and cutting and suturing, which I will only do with Steve, is hugely sensual. I guess I'm just one sick pup!!

DesFIP -> RE: Knives in play (11/6/2013 12:30:26 PM)

Mindfucks don't work well on me. In the moment I will believe he is breaking my limits and planning to cut me which will get me to end play, and afterwards it leaves me thinking "yeah right" to anything he brings up.

I'm big on being restrained, blindfolded and having the clothes cut off. He prefers to use EMT shears for that but at least if blindfolded I'm not presented with the unsexy image of them.

sheisreeds -> RE: Knives in play (11/6/2013 6:42:46 PM)

LP I love combining wax and knife play too!

Out of all those knives pictured there are 4 we use on a regular basis. We like knowing our blades, especially since we are very very rough.

We don't do the whole fake out thing, but I like playing w/ temperature some with the actual knives.

MariaB -> RE: Knives in play (11/7/2013 1:19:18 AM)

I think most of knife play is fakery! When I lay a sub on a table face down, blindfolded and run those knives over his/her skin, gently, firmly, sharply, heavily, she/he has no idea what's coming next. Unless she has knife play on a regular basis and is using it as a form of relaxation because she knows exactly whats going to happen and when. She doesn't know if you are going to cut her (even accidentally) hurt her or even scar her. She may momentarily question your sanity and she will spend a lot of moments crying out, whilst trying to second guess what your going to do next.

Knife play is mind fuckery and mind fuckery includes a whole lot of fakery. If there was no fakery their, what would knife play be?

Grael -> RE: Knives in play (11/7/2013 4:18:52 AM)

Probably what we called it in the service... Torture. But this ends with both people still alive, and intact.
