Raiken made a comment about cages in the post on anger and sex, and I thought it rated a new thread...such a delicious topic!

I enjoy cages, although I have no idea why, it's kind of an odd thing. I've done the kitty in a cage, at a private house party, and I've done the exotic slave in a cage at The Wet Spot in Seattle. Both great memories.

I'd love to do a scene where I am caged in animal print scanties, and a sign put up "Please feed the animal!". Have people come by offering tidbits through the cage bars while the owner watches over it all...Yummy!

Or hmmm, can you imagine a whole human zoo at a fetish night? What a rush!

Anyone else want to share their thoughts about cages?

I have been caged for play before. I have not been caged for punishment and not sure how I would like that at all, I am a bit claustrophobic. The picture in my avatar is from the night my Lord played me in the cage. He got the idea from a running joke that he and I had before we met face to face. He used to tease me about taunting and teasing the tiger in the cage and that one day I would be getting in the cage with the tiger… and He is the tiger. I also wear a silver chain around my neck with a cat charm which is a symbol of his ownership that I wear whenever it is not appropriate to wear his collar. Alandra and I each have a different symbol that is significant to us and represents his ownership. So my Lord built a cage to put his cat in and play with her.

The cage is made to either rest on a base or to be suspended, and if you are interested in more details of how it was made, my Lord can provide those. It is not big enough to fully sit up in and you can lay it in as long as you bend your legs.

That night we were at a play party that occurs once a month where my Lord and sis live. He stripped me outside of the cage and warmed me up with a little “light” flogging and then locked me in the cage flat on my back. I had on leather cuffs at wrist and ankle with D-rings attached. Using rope he secured my hands to the sides of the cage and suspended my feet from the top. My play collar also has D-rings at the front and sides and he used the ones on the sides to keep my head still. Then he proceeded to torment the tiger in the cage with crop, small flogger, clothespins and I do not recall what else he used.

The really hot part of the whole scene for me was him stalking around the cage with some toy in hand and never knowing which direction he was going to come at me next. The limited mobility of my head made it difficult to watch him and it just built the anticipation and intensity for me. That night I ripped falls off of a flogger, tried to snatch the crop out of his hand and tried to grab him by the balls. I think the highlight for those watching was when my Lord climbed on top of the cage and tormented me from above (that was when I was able to get my hands on the crop). Finally, he climbed into the cage with me and used his hands and teeth to torture… I think I still have marks from his teeth.

As for how long it lasted, my Lord, alandra or denika would be a better judge than I. During play the concept of time is meaningless to me.

That was a fun night!!

Yes, I think there is something about being caged that brings out the animal...I'd love to explore that wild-side more. Thanks for sharing, Kyra, sounds like it was delicious.

Ah...my fav thanng...it calls to the tigress beast within, i immediately change when surounded or enclosed, and locked in. i feel like it is safe to let the beast out, that is one of the places i can actually free my mind of coherant thought and go primal.  It just feels ancient to me, like it is where i belong.  In the cage, my will is engaged by the steel bars, and i have trouble resisting, then i am soothed, tamed, subdued, and in there, i have no other choice but to surrender.  Hard to explain in words the feelings i experience.  Hope this makes some sense. *smile

I like hard bondage, chains, cages, manacles, etc. The strength of them makes me feel secure, the coolness of them delights my senses and the knowledge that I can't just wiggle out of them makes me feel very vulnerable.

Cages themselves are nice in that you can feel confined and yet not confined. They can be big enough to stay in, sleep in, walk in, even live in if you have the right set up. That sort of direct obvious control can be pretty awesome.

I also find in public spaces that cages have what I call the Fishbowl Effect. You are visible to others outside the cage, you can have limited interaction with them, but you are always in the "bowl" and you can't change it. You are on display.

I love cages.  I like to look at them, I like to spend time in them, I like to see others in them (although I tend to feel a bit jealous of that).  I like them so much that we have three of them - two suspended and one not - and a 4' cube isolation box.  I feel safe and relaxed in a cage.  Put me in one and I'm content for hours.  Put me in the box and I'm asleep in a matter of minutes.

I enjoy using cages for a variety of things.  I'm even thinking of building a new desk with a "cage" built into it.  From my perspective a cage is a handy place to keep a slave for display, a way of restricting her freedom and reminding her she is a slave, of making her feel helpless.

But perhaps the perspective that most surprised me was that of a young slave I knew about a year ago.  For her, a cage was a place of safety.  She felt safe and secure when in one.  She enjoyed sleeping in one.  As she explained it, when she was caged she felt safe because no one but her owner could touch her, she felt cared for and protected as well as feeling helpless.  I'd never heard anyone speak of being caged in quite that way before, but I thought it a unique and wonderful way to think about it.  Then again, she was a unique and remarkable girl.

At Desert Dominion there is a standing cage, about seven feet high, two feet wide and a foot deep.  One of my favorite, unfulfilled fantasies is to be placed in it, after a sound whipping, with my hands secured overhead, blindfolded and gagged, with a sign on the front saying, "Please feel free to Touch, Torment, Tease, Tantalize and Tickle the slave.  But do NOT talk to him."

Cages do serve a varity of reasons.  If I am away a cage is a good place to for a slave, she is safe until I get back.  I also know some who like to use it for play.  For my primary purpose a cage is punishment.  If a slave is unruly she is caged until she can obey.  Another method is after a slave is flogged or whip, I put her in a cage and give her time to think about what she did and why she was punished, an excellent way of spending time in a cage.

Yup,  so am I. Now if the space between the bars in the cage were nice and wide, so that I could get out and have some tea, file my nails, defrost the fridge ,then it just might be  an inviting idea. [:D]

Yes, that's so true. I guess that really appeals to the exhibitionist in me.

I'm really dying to try a suspended cage...That feeling of vulnerability as it sways when you move...Maybe I'd love it...maybe I'd hate it...
