- to be sent an email "introduction" that is just a cut and paste of your profile AND contains a complaint about how people keep contacting you wanting something you aren't offering AND is clear that you don't fit what MY profile says I seek.

Surely, any domme worth her salt would want any random sub to come clean her house naked, as she stands over him with a whip and invites over her domme girlfriends and vanilla girlfriends (heck even her sisters as long as it as a female who will giggle at the sub) to watch. Right? And everyone knows the proper salutation for an introductory letter is My Dear Esteemed Mistress. ;-)

Seriously, I think we will find general agreement about blatant examples as those described in this discussion. Beyond that, what is appropriate (should the title Mistress be used, should a list of BDSM interests be given) will become subjective. I think that even those who observe standard social ettiquete are not always sure about how best to present their persona in an introductory letter, and some amount of learning occurs in most cases.

Trouble is, Sea, is that social etiquette is not taught anymore.  It's not a required program in school.  Most parents these days don't know Emily Post from Martha Stewart. I observe "unsocialized" individuals every moment of my life and it's horrifying to me.  Yet I cannot give up or surrender the hope that I will come across a gentleman in my age range who will be at least a wee bit socialized (ok, maybe a little rough on the edges).

I hope it works out for you, but the difference is *she* asked. She didn't receive it out of the blue from a perfect stranger. I'm fairly friendly, lol, but personally, I've yet to use even one of those "offers."

Its funny how a woman can complain about having too many emails/offers or too much attention that most males wish for. But if a male complains about being ignored all the time and receiving NO EMAILS OR OFFERS OR ATTENTION, he is labeled as a bitter whiner and looked down upon.

I would prefer to be contacted by a few sincere guys who honestly believe that they are compatable with us.  We have recieved messages from about 10 people since I changed the profile that we are starting to look around a bit again, and of the 10, only 3 have been worth talking to - one is, unfortunately, too young and from too far away, and the other two have spontaniously quit talking to us ... and the other 7 were variations of what has been mentioned in this thread as what we don't want.  I would much rather have skipped the 7 losers, and the 2 vanishers - although I would have missed out on a potentially good friend (although, he hasn't been chatty either), I honestly would have rather not gotten any messages.

i understand what you mean i had wonderful young males but they are just too young, and then there are the nuts i had one guys just play shy she top from the bottom and they thank good we never meant but he was like so strange and we talk for so long so very long i trusted him. then he turn strange we had a very good time speaking on the phone. i am a twin and i tell you this man would not believe that it was me talking with him. i do not think he ever believe me this was the breaking point i hiumor him first mistake. then i was like you believe this my twin is scare to damn of computer she will not come near on.

I felt so bad for the fella, you could just kinda tell he's inexperienced and was nervous as ever trying to write and say hello. I still talk with him too... some of the boys should really get a clue, they bitch cause we laugh at stupid e-mails but ya know if they would put a bit of effort into contacting someone they might get a better response.
 
For the one who asked if we would rather have too much attention or none, I'd prefer the none at all. It would be better than digging through a ton of messages that mean nothing at all... kinda like no attention is better than negative attention ( or a piss poor excuse at an attempt of attention. )

Actually, very very few are labled or judged before making an action.  Each and every one of the things that has been listed so far is something that a guy has sent to someone - and we are NOT judging all guys by those morons.  If you feel that we are, then well ... that's your problem.  Personally, I like to believe that most guys are honestly clueless rather than obnoxious and mentally handicapped, but when they do things (such as what we've all listed) that prove that they don't even have basic manners ... well, yeah, I'm going to be irritated with them and judge THEM as being worthless.
