SwPuno -> RE: What is the appeal and use of Caging? (9/4/2006 9:40:37 AM)

I'm a male switch who has greatly enjoyed cages from both sides of the bars. As the dom, I enjoy being able to view all of that beauty and energy temporarily confined, restricted and controlled, similar to bondage, where I can view and access the sub when and as often as I wish. Plus the contrast of nice soft human skin with the cold bars, again similar to restraints. As a sub, I think littlesarbonn and some others summed it up pretty well. I like the confinement, the display factor - which is curious because I'm usually pretty shy - and there can indeed be that sense of "this is my slave space" that you have alluded to, it's comforting in an odd way. I sort of played with this as a top once in one of my favorite scenes where I put the sub in a tall, standing type cage and manipulated her and put her in different positions for a while and left her a bit in "her space", then later opened the cage and stepped in and proceeded to stroke and play with her, both of us inside the cage. I liked the feeling that I was sort of invading her space and reestablishing control and ownership without actually violating her in the more traditional way. I found it pretty hot and she seemed to enjoy it too. As a sub I've been mainly put in cages at clubs, only once in privat so far. It is pretty nice, especially for shy types and/or newbies, to be able to watch what is going on with fewer worries about being approached or expected to go off and do things while still being a part of things to some degree, you're not just watching a video or through a 2 way mirror, you're actually part of the atmosphere and "decorations". It can also be good for teasing and I've spent some enjoyable times watching the female domme just beyond the bars, teasing me (which I love) with her body or slipping her hands or toes between the bars for me to worship, or straining to reach her lips or have her reach mine through the bars. And yes, cage size can make a big difference. I personally agree with you, Susan, the really small cages usually just frustrate me, especially the ones with the closely spaced, tiny bars. I much prefer larger ones with decent size bars (and space between them so you can see out and/or interact with things when permitted) where you can move around a bit and get in different positions, even if you can't fully stretch out. Boredom can also become an issue pretty quickly unless you have an assignment or something or someone to view, listen to, or interact with. As a top I can appreciate very small cages for short term use when you want them held in a certain position and for them to realize that and know they have no control and can only stay in that position and react as they are stimulated. I would want something bigger for longer sessions though. I hope this has been helpful and perhaps even inspirational. Thanks for a great question. Puno
