godless13513 -> Code d'Odalisque (5/7/2007 10:38:12 PM)

As a generally curious person, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Code d'Odalisque. Any and all comments are greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
For those who are as clueless (and as curious!) as I am, here's where I found out about it: http://au.geocities.com/silkenways/

CuriousLord -> RE: Code d'Odalisque (5/7/2007 10:43:22 PM)

Never heard of it, but it's first thing on my reading list, after this damn Engineering exam I'm cramming for (and my webcomics, of course!).

Thanks for this post! This is some awesome reading material so far, and should appeal to many who are not into S&M play.

Well code to ode, its suggested shortened form is just that, a short form of submission. As in, it only seems to encompass sexual submission. Which im all for you understand, just that its not going to fulfill all of my needs, just some of them.

It suggests that sex craved submissives will love it!
I would assume, the type of girl, who craves sexual use, is not really going to set herself up in a hareem, where she must compete with her sisters for her needs to be met and not as often as she would were it not poly. Personally, why bother, when a bar can provide it every day of the week, every week of the year.
However, the idea of having my hair, waxing, nails, etc done, whilst im not being used, that i could go for! But although im no beauty, wont take up all my time will it? Im going to get bored pretty quick. And shock horror, start helping myself to the other 'odella's' probably lol

Personally, i see it as a vehicle that some might use. Just as some do Gor. Some turn to taken in hand. Whatever vehicle you prefer to ride in, to get you to a power exchange relationship is fine by me. The ceremony of it, however, does seem quite beautiful in a fantasy way.
But if its based on Edwardian/Victorian erotic aesthetics? eww, there all too rubenesque for me.
And what about the boys? Where do our fellow submissive/slave male counterparts have to go? Id miss them.

Sounds good. For a weekend perhaps?
But i really enjoyed reading up on it. Thankyou
little1

hang on a minute, i just read this bit.....
'An odalisque does not pursue her own fantasies'

edit my previous post to say, forget the weekend, but tuesday will do.

puella -> RE: Code d'Odalisque (5/8/2007 2:34:31 AM)

Cool enough font but not terribly well rooted in actual historical basis from the brief bit I read on their site.  Then again, the western ideal of the Turkish harem is pretty overbearingly (and quite inaccurately) pervasive.  I guess it doesn't reall matter when they call it a role playing game, however.

slaveish -> RE: Code d'Odalisque (5/8/2007 5:17:40 AM)

I had a guy send me that link once, said he wanted me to be his masochistic oral pet. Ahhh the memories. ~chuckle~ Nothing says "trust" like emotional denial.

Personally I find the fantasy of being chained to a table, open and ready to be used and fucked by any random person/people who happen to walk by pretty hot.

But only for the first two weeks.

Hehehe, after two weeks you need a bit more cushion?  Maybe chained to a divan?

It is eerily reminiscent of Gor stuff, isn't it? Not that I'm that well versed in the Gorean fantasy world, but this Code thingeymargey definitely rings a bell.

Yes, it sounds like Gor without the machismo :-)

MasterFireMaam -> RE: Code d'Odalisque (5/8/2007 7:32:40 AM)

Lots of small things that aren't necessarily true in the introduction, so I didn't read further. For example, the thing about an Old Guard slave wearing a collar as the symbol while the pleasure slave is kept naked and barefoot. Well, I just spent a weekend as a slave to explore myself in an "Old Guard" type setting. I was naked and barefoot (ok, they let me wear my socks) and I certainly wasn't a pleasure slave. Generalizations are often never true 100% of the time.

MrDiscipline44 -> RE: Code d'Odalisque (5/8/2007 7:35:08 AM)

Personally, I find slaves that are good for one thing and one thing only to be pretty useless pieces of meat. Especially if all she does is sit around all day waiting to be "used". There are some component parts that maybe be usefull in it. But it as a whole has little attraction for me as a slave owner.

puella -> RE: Code d'Odalisque (5/8/2007 9:33:49 AM)

I think the adult Disneyland version of the Turkish harem is pretty hokey as well.   I very much doubt anyone would really want to participate in a 'role playing game' based on the realities of life in a harem; the political structure and lethargy were not pleasant and the layers of ugliness that comprised their daily life could be very defeating..especially for the life of an odalisque, vs the life of a concubine in a small and more 'life functional' harem.

Thank you for the post- I found it to be interesting, and shared it with a few folks.  Have you ever seen "Castlerealm?"  You may find that as pleasureable as I found the link you posted.  Here it is: http://www.castlerealm.com/  Wyoming, eh?  I have hiked and climbed in Wyoming- what an inexplicably delicious part of the world the Wind River Range is!

Well thats an interesting statement to make, kittin. Can you explain where and/or how you correlate Code de Ode to the Gorean idea of slavery?

Archer -> RE: Code d'Odalisque (5/8/2007 11:40:42 AM)

Funny thing just skimmed through various "Training" things they have listed, guess what they have skills listed that are strangely similar to a "Valet" grooming, etc, so I find the contradiction of Only for sexual use and then requireing them to provide bathing and grooming and wardrobe service funny as hell.

Seems they ae required to do more than just sex, LOL

Want a similar but far better thought out outlook take a peek in the fictional Marketplace Series the last book Reunion has a character who is in that system a Pleasure Slave, and they certainly have more about them than the simple sexual matters to deal with.

Thanks for the link - I'll explore it when I don't have finals due . . . .

I love Wyoming - I'm from Cheyenne, so I thought I was a 'city girl'  . . . . then moved to DC! lol

kittinSol -> RE: Code d'Odalisque (5/8/2007 1:16:01 PM)

Sure... here's one link amongst millions of others that will allow you to do the comparison yourself. Personally I'm not that bothered that I can carry out the research: matter of personal taste, but to me Gor is a bore :-) However you will find that everything from the concept of 'sexual availability' to 'positions', going through 'dances' and 'talents' very much reflect what is supposedly required of a Gor 'slave'. Oh! All those things and keeping oneself pwweety for one's Mastewww too ;-p

MrDiscipline44 -> RE: Code d'Odalisque (5/8/2007 1:34:46 PM)

So, in other words you're just making a generalization to which you actually have nothing substantial to back it up. I asked you to show me were you drew these correlations from code ode to gor. If you actually looked into even the website you claimed as a resource, you'd see there is very little in common between the two. Figures you'd just be another idiot with a keyboard trying to be an attention whore. Some dumbasses should really have been shot at birth. LOL

Seems I wasn't the only one who saw the similarities between Odalisque and Gor.

You were out of order there, mister. Then again, thank you for showing what a rude bastard you really are :-)
