iwannapullurhair -> Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/8/2007 2:30:36 PM)

Has anyone here been following Heroes? Who is your favorite Hero?

I like Hiro's powers, but Peter Petrelli has the best power-he gets them all and doesn't need to slice anyone's head off.

Whenever Silar puts his glasses on, he reminds me of the new Superman(Except he's got that evil thing going on).

LadyPact -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/8/2007 3:53:23 PM)

Count Me in as a big fan.  Heroes is literally the one show a week that I sit down to watch.  Call Me a dork, but I love it.  I have all but the last two episodes downloaded on My laptop.

I agree that Peter Petrelli has the best power, since he gets everyone else's that he comes across.  Not to mention, the actor that plays him is a little hottie.  One thing I didn't get is why he had a scar on his face in the "Five Years in the Future" episode.  Clair never has scars, and she's been through an autopsy!

Hiro is definitely My second favorite.  Didn't you just love all of the Star Trek references and then George Takei played his father?  That was a big kick for Me.  I still call that other chick the shape shifter.  Wonder where I got that little nickname from.

Jessica/Nikki has kind of grown on Me, though at first, I didn't see that so much as a power as elevated split personality disorder.  D.L. doesn't thrill Me much.  His power is kind of lower level for Me.  Mica's power is turning out to be pretty cool, but I want to see more of it.

My favorite one that they have killed off was Issac.  I know Peter can do the same thing now, but didn't you just love the paintings?  Every time he would use his power and his eyes would change, didn't it just remind you of a sub's eyes glazing over when they hit subspace?  Maybe it's just Me.

I'm very anxiously awaiting the final two episodes of the season.  Really hoping that isn't the end of the show, but they are going to have to 'find' some new heroes.  They keep killing them off, which I'm not very fond of.  Unless I'm mistaken, in the first vision of the bomb, Issac and Simmone were in the scene, and they are both dead now.  Also not fond of the way Mom Petrelli was introduced as a weak minded shoplifter and now she's the complete political matriarch.  I have a feeling that she, Linderman, and Hiro's father are all going to be tied into a plot twist at some point.

Ok, I'm done being a dork now.

iwannapullurhair -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/8/2007 6:44:27 PM)

The scar should have been impossible, but they wanted to make Peter look cool. Maybe the Haitian blocked his power and that is how he got the scar. He was cut when he was "normal", but I still think it should have healed when his power came back.

I knew President Petrelli would be Silar way before they showed it. I'm guessing that no one in Peter's explosion dream actually dies. The Cheerleader will stop the explosion somehow-by talking Peter down. I'm also thinking that gun shot to the head that Peter wants her to make won't work. Every other time that Peter or her died, they had an object stuck in their head.

LadyPact -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/8/2007 7:10:38 PM)

Geez, We might be the only two geeks on this one.  Oh well.  It gives Us two things in common now.

If you'll remember correctly, only those things removed from the skull will actually heal.  Both Clair and Peter were 'dead' until the forgein object was removed.  They each used the premise to bring the other 'back to life' and then healed from there.  If the bullet isn't pulled out from the brain, say severing a major artery, they would still die.  The Hatian blocks powers and removes memory, but Peter didn't know he had that particular power until it showed up, so cognative memory doesn't really play a part there.

That being said, how much of a part in the plot twist do you think the Hatian will play, since he doesn't die until the future?  Why did he fake being must since childhood?  He didn't have the ability to know speech would be such an asset.  Is Molly really the one that can stop Sylar, now that Surresh (another cutie) has saved her, or can she just locate him?  How does Hiro's broke sword come into play, since it was very obviously in tact for the future?

I can't believe We are the only two into this.

Stazia -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/8/2007 7:27:38 PM)

well count me in on the dork factor!!! i love heros

hiro is my fav. he is cute in the carnival won teddy bear sort of way.  i think his powers are cool, and tbe thing he found out that he has to do..... i am wondering if he has it in him, the future hiro is a bad ass (a very hot bad ass) and he wouldnt have any qualms doing the deed, but cute cuddley present hiro doesnt strike me as the type to be able to actually do it. (i am trying my damnest not to give away plot points i hope that all of those current on the episodes can make out what i am trying to say;)

mika- cute kid and i am wondering why linderman wants him where he is

jessica/nikkie- ok i am kinda confused with what exactly her power is, other than being a crazy bad ass...

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/8/2007 7:32:10 PM)

Haven't missed a show all year.

The scar thing is not done yet....

In the future timeline, I don't think it was Peter who saved Clair.

iwannapullurhair -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/8/2007 9:13:37 PM)

I'm just considering the whole future thing to be a bad trip-kind of erased already since Hiro is going to change it.

We've seen all these pictures of Feudal Japan in the background. I'm thinking Soft Hiro will go back there for a bit and become a super badass and get the sword fixed.

Silar still needs to kill the Shapeshifter/Illusionist, which he will do for certain.

As far as the kid( Mika? I can't remember the techie wiz kids name-the kid of the split personality and her walking through walls husband), there is an election coming up which you will recall is counted by computers! Ever since the hanging chads, they switched and we already know they can be hacked. The kid is Perfect if you want to manipulate the vote count and get a certain politician in office. That is why he wins even though he is down in the polls. He wins before the bomb goes off.

iwannapullurhair -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/8/2007 9:21:06 PM)

This may be too much reality for tv, but the gun Peter has is a .45 caliber. It was developed to knock you on your ass if you are shot by it. It has alot of power. It would go all the way through someone's head pretty much everytime. So the bullet won't stay in Peter's head. The glass in Peter's head and the stick in the Cheerleader's head undoubtably severed arteries and veins, but once they were removed, they healed immediately. So the bullet should kill them for a sec and then they should recover.

If they want the bullet to stay in there, they should use a .22 caliber, which is what assassins use because it won't exit the skull and will bounce around inside.

LadyPact -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/8/2007 9:55:36 PM)

Ok, say the .45 has the power to do that.  To date, all of the body parts have stayed in tact for rejuvination.  Nothing has really been taken off or blown away.  If half of the skull/brain is missing (sorry for the ick) who says it will grow back?

Yes, the difference in the two Hiro's is definitely worth mentioning, but future Hiro won't exist as is, if Aldo is not killed.  It is the resentment, and subsequent unforgiveness of self that turns Hiro into a bad ass.

Has anybody else thought that maybe the scar on Peter's face is somehow caused by the sword during a mistake in the attempt to kill Sylar during a face off?  Is it possible that the healing power is something controlled, and the scar remains as a 'never forget' symbol.  In the future, Peter is still pulled to the cause, while future Nikki is not after losing Mica/Mika.

The big question is..... They have saved the cheerleader..... Now they must save the world..... After they have saved the world, what is left for them?

iwannapullurhair -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/8/2007 10:47:04 PM)

I've heard them use the term regeneration on the show. Technically that would include the regrowing of body parts back. Some damage would automatically destroy flesh rather than just seperating it-like when Claire was burnt by the Nuclear guy at her house. It is best to take a non technical approach though-all we need to know is they heal from anything except they have a weakness like Kryptonite for plot purposes.

I like the idea of Peter keeping the scar on purpose. I thought of the sword when I saw the scar. It seemed like an odd scar to have for blowing up. Silar makes a thin line with his telekinesis though. Hopefully they'll show it even if the future is changed.

I've forgotten where Silar got his snow powers.

Silar has the following powers that I know:
1. Figuring out how things work-how to fix things(how he takes other powers)
2. Super-hearing from the Mechanic lady
3. Liquifying materials
4. Super recall and memory from the waitress
5. Telekinesis from his first victim
6. Cold and snow
7. Painting the future
8. Walking through walls(future Silar)
9. Illusions(Future Silar after he wacks Mika's babysitter)

Stazia -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/8/2007 11:27:44 PM)

i am wondering what bennet is going to do when he realizes the "walker" program is really that little girl that mohinder just cured.  and what are the chances that mohinder and that girl have the exact same blood types that he can just give her a transfusion and everything is all better?

farglebargle -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/9/2007 5:11:19 AM)

"and what are the chances that mohinder and that girl have the exact same blood types that he can just give her a transfusion and everything is all better?"

The challenge for the writers is to reject the use of too many co-incidences and remembering to focus on motivations.

( e.g.: The way Syler's motivation changed as a result of his meeting with his mother, and her suggestions... )

LadyPact -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/9/2007 12:00:56 PM)

Can't take credit for the answser on it.... I had to ask someone.

Did Sylar get his freezing power when he killed Molly's parents?  Weren't one of them frozen when they were found?  Maybe it was the power of one of them and he 'tested' it out?

Another question.  Since Sylar can liquify metals, why didn't he just do that rather than break the sword?

Shoot, I just realized something..... Ted or Peter can fix the darn thing.  All they have to do is heat the metal and put it back together.

iwannapullurhair -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/9/2007 2:29:38 PM)

Peter or Ted can melt the metal, but it takes skill to reforge a sword that won't just break again. Those swords are folded over and over again which makes layers-that makes the whole thing stronger.

I think all those coincidences are supposed to be Destiny. The idea that everything is connected in some weird metaphysical way. Like when older Petrelli flies away from the mob guys and lands at the Diner where Hiro just happens to be-just by chance.

I forgot about those two people from the beginning of the show that Silar killed-They were the parents of the little girl that detects mutants? I remember the cop inside of the place and he found a little girl by hearing her thoughts-was that her? Maybe I'm misremembering the whole thing.

LadyPact -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/9/2007 2:56:03 PM)

Like I said earlier..... I have the early episodes on the laptop.  I'll see if I can figure it out.

LadyPact -> RE: Heroes-anybody a fan here? (5/9/2007 7:17:30 PM)

Ok.... really, really big dork here.

We went back and looked.  In episode 2, when Molly's parents were killed and Matt Parkman (the cop who can hear thoughts) found Molly hiding in the wall, both of Molly's parents were dead.  The mother was killed by projectile utensils stabbing her to death.  The dad had the classic Sylar style killing (wanting to see how it worked) and was sitting frozen.  Have to assume that the dad was the source of the freezing power, and Sylar was testing it out after killing Molly's father.  Makes sense, since all children of the current Heroes also have powers.  No off-spring of Heroes (to date) have been powerless.
