Sometimes, when we work long hours and deal with customers who are ungrateful, miserable employees we forget the "positive" things about our job...what things do you like about your job? I am being trained for floral department right now and worked a full day in floral- it was nice listening to all the wonderful stories because Mother's Day is Sunday...even though me and my Mother don't have a relationship any more (long story) I do like to socialize...I enjoy doing the flower arrangements and setting up displays...looking at the final project when I clock out at the end of the day, makes me feel good when others compliment on it.

At both jobs, if I had to pick one thing, it would be the retirement plans.
At my first job it is generous, considering industry standards.
At my second job the company matches a percentage of what I put in, it's like earning extra money I don't have to work for.

The fact that i now, once again, work with people that "get" me.  My last job was so miserable because the people i worked with were nothing but a bunch of gossipy, back-biting bastards that weren't happy unless they were making trouble for someone else.....usually me.  Now that i can be myself, sick, perverted sense of humor and all, i absolutely LOVE my job!  I have the shift of my choice, a really GREAT work schedule, and the people themselves are just like me......i'm back in my element!

That, and i get to tell all the guys where to go, and there's nothing they can do about it!

The relaxed atmosphere, I am an accountant but go to work in jeans and tshirt.
The relaxed hours, get the job done rather than be in at a certain time.
TV sets all over the place so you can watch what you like during the day
I get to meet famous people every day
I work with lovely people

OH and I get paid every month

The people i work with are the best ever.  It's a real team type atmosphere...not the phony team atmosphere many companies press onto their employees.

I am usually on night shift and everyone is really cool- the crew is mostly young people and they crack me up cause they can't believe i'm 34 i had one guy ask me "are you old enough to work the trash compactor?" how flattering...the day crew is pretty cool but the big bosses are all over the place so I do perfer working nights....but i'm not picky when i need more hours...

What I like about my new consulting assignment:
  • The facilities are very pleasant, clean and well-maintained.
  • We can come in anytime we choose between 7 AM and 9 AM.
  • Lots of awesome shopping nearby = fun lunch hours (across from a mall).
  • Free covered parking, which is wonderful during the spring hail storm season and during the summer.
  • People are very nice.
  • FREE coffee, iced tea, and soft drinks.

What I like best about my job - I own a very small store front so best thing would be that I'm the boss and have a certain amount of flexibility I would not have otherwise.  Second best thing is all the great people I get to meet there day after day... I have a lot of fun at work.

I've been on the new job 8 days.  I have no idea what I will like best about it.  Got a few possibilities:

The alarm clock will probably never go off at 1:30 am.

I'm not desperate for a shower when I get home.

I can take the dog to work with me if has a vet appt.

I'm not as high on the food chain as I'm ever going to get.

I work as a Registered Nurse, and also have a part time janitorial job.  You know, now that I think of it, I can use the same slogan for both jobs: "Your shit is my business."

Both are service oriented jobs.  The positive part of the job is the recognition for providing excellent service.  Both jobs have in common sometimes having to clean up after someone's embarrassing mishap.  To be able to give them back their dignity by treating them with kindness, reassurance, and respect is so rewarding, especially just hearing a sincere, "thank you for being so kind."

As a final note: From my RN side, please wash your hands often.  From the janitor side, men, please step up the urinal, it's a lot further than most of you think.

Always, with a sense of humor.

hehe, the job of housewife would be too long,
but as for the job that i used to have;

i loved that when i danced, i wasn't another some randomly uneducated person. i was skilled. even my bosses respected me. sure i was naked, but i was also hanging upside down by my thighes on a slippery pole. tips came for skilled performance. working in clubs have really big draw-backs, but there's something cool about being part of illusion.

I LOVE my current job. I get to work with elementary school aged kids every afternoon and get them interested in science. This summer I get to do the same thing, but for day camps. The odd thing is, I don't normally care for kids, but most of the ones in these programs are really bright. Not to mention I don't have to do much work for a lot of pay.

Best thing about My job is that I work 12 hour shifts, which means I get three and a half days a week.  So, if I work Mon, Tues, and Weds for 12 hours each, and Thurs for 6 hours, I'm off from Thur afternoon and not need to be back until Monday again.  It's the only positive thing I can say about it.  *laughs*

I love my job.  The schedule is super flexible, come and leave as you want as long as the work gets done.  No dress code, I hardly ever wear shoes.  Pays the bills with some left over.  Co-workers and bosses are great friends outside of work.
