GoddessDustyGold -> RE: Just joined and (5/10/2005 2:34:11 PM)

And as a further note, I do get alot of mail from boys who seem surprised they would be expected to hold down a job, even though they are living with Me.
Whaaat? You mean I have to go to work every day, too?
They have some weird idea that they are going to stay at home all day while I go out to earn the bread and butter, and they will half-heartedly run the vacuum or throw a load of clothes into the washing machine, because they are going to get a spanking, or maybe I'll tie them up, or, the best yet, I will allow them to orally please Me that night. One boy has a deep-rooted foot fetish, and he honestly offers to wait at home, so he can remove your shoes and sniff your "smelly, tired feet" when You get home "after a long tiring day at work". And he thinks this is a teriffic offer! I sure hope he finds the Domina who is panting to find this unique slave boy kneeling at her door to sniff her toes. Because when that little activity is over, he expects to be in the closet sniffing her shoes while She is cooking dinner.
If you really want a relationship, and you should be seeking to live-in, at least eventually. what do you think you are going to do with your paycheck then?
BTW, I don't ever speak badly about any sex worker, and I haven't seen any Domina on this site do so, on the message boards. They may even agree with you that Domination for pay is not their cup of tea. But they have a realistic attitude about it, for the most part, and they certainly don't "degrade conventional prostitutes".

Lordandmaster -> RE: Just joined and (5/10/2005 2:47:56 PM)

What bothers me is that virtually every day now, a new user is turned off by all the money dommes on this site. I think that's a clear sign that something has to be changed--whether it be adding a "pro" filter or whatever. If it didn't annoy people, there wouldn't be new people complaining about it each and every day.

Oh, and the quote below is precious. If you've never seen it, it doesn't exist, right?

I have NEVER run into ANYONE that is in the scene for the money.

McWhips -> RE: Just joined and (5/10/2005 2:59:56 PM)

While some of you pain a very grim picture of the scene for sub males which will put anyone off I agree with lord and master.

You clearly missed the whole point of that quote. What it means is that if there are so many of them, where are they? If you bothered to read the whole post you would clearly see that I pointed out that they do exist. It only makes sense. However, the ratio is not even close to what the OP suggests.

EmeraldSlave2 -> RE: Just joined and (5/10/2005 3:33:12 PM)

Yeah every day I see someone turned off by a slave who doesn't use the Caps rule and actually tops other people and doesn't ask permission to use the furniture.

Respect other peoples kinks, you don't have to get hard about it, just understand someone else might. Their kinks are no worse than anyone else's here.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Just joined and (5/10/2005 6:00:31 PM)

And if there are so few of them, why does someone new complain about them every day now? Maybe they're not harassing YOU. Look, they're not harassing ME. But I'm aware that things might exist even if I'm not aware of them. (There's a line about it in Hamlet somewhere.)

I have to admit that many of the women on these places are vile! (not all of them) but I dont really see people who do things on financial terms maruading Vanilla personal sites! ITs enough to make you think money SHOULD be an accepted part of BDSM and thats all its about!!! lol.

In the time you have spent complaining about a side of BDSM in which you clearly have no interest, you could have been searching the profiles for one that meets your needs.

Should we put in a "toilet slave" filter too? How about a "totally control me because I am nothing and worthless" filter? That's pretty annoying to me.

Be well,
Julie

GoddessDustyGold -> RE: Just joined and (5/10/2005 6:24:44 PM)

And, Lordandmaster, not everyone who seeks "tributes" admits to being, or even considers themselves a "Pro". So how would a Pro filter work in that case?
Even if verbage concerning tribute or financial domination was disallowed in profile essays, there is nothing to stop a lady from sharing that rule in the very first email exchange.
I say, better to have it out there in the profile, and then anyone who doesn't like it can blow right on by and move on to the next one.
*sigh* But they don't. Instead they come here to complain.

perverseangelic -> RE: Just joined and (5/10/2005 6:39:23 PM)

What Emerald said.

I've talked to some who are put off by the prevelance of dominant women. THey are upset that women don't know their place and think that such things should be discouraged/disapproved of. Yup, I hear this with some frequency.

Wanna filter out dominant women as well?

I understand your point--that it is offputting to some. I say that if someone is interested, they will continue to dig further and learn that 1. financial dominantion is a kink, like any other kink 2. not everyone who wants tribute is a pro and 3. pros are still participating in bdsm, even if it's in a way others don't like.

oh yeah, and 4. that there are plenty of people for whom money changing hands isn't an issue at all.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Just joined and (5/10/2005 7:17:49 PM)

Yes, I understand all that, but the fact is no one is complaining about toilet slaves. Or people who overdo caps. Or any of the things people have mentioned on the thread. People are complaining about money dommes. Oh, and they're complaining about con schemes, too. I read the boards every day.

I agree that this isn't an easy issue. When I first raised it (in a thread that was pulled by the moderators because--so I'm told--people started insulting each other), my concern was that Collarme is a FREE site, and there are obviously many people who are just using it to further their cash business. I have nothing against prostitution (as I've said, I think it should be legalized), don't have any moral objections to paying for sex, and so on. And of course I realized that singling out money dommes could put Collarme on a slippery slope. But I'm sorry, when new users get unsolicited e-mails asking for tribute, that's not about kink or free expression of sexuality anymore. That's about commerce.

Anyway, after my thread was pulled, I was prepared to let the whole issue die. But every day I read someone new complaining about it--literally every day. And I don't like the responses such users get from the veterans. This thread is a perfect example. Just because people are new doesn't mean they don't have a right express an opinion on the boards like anyone else.

If they state it in their profile who cares. Just don't write to them. It's a free site. So you wasted an extra 2 minutes of your precious quest for the dream femdom. How many hours do these subs waste wanking off searching for "free porn"?

If the femdoms were HIDING the fact that they wanted a tribute and laying it on the sub about 8 emails into it after hours of time were invested, sure they have a right to be pissed. What about all the subs that blatantly LIE to us femdoms who don't charge money and so we waste all our time for nothing with them?

Can we add an IDIOT filter? How about a "married but cheating" filter? What about a "I'm really bald and fat but my picture is from 16 years ago" filter? What about a filter to help weed out lazy, demanding, do-me subs that whine at the prospect of putting ANY effort into ANYTHING, they just want the perfect femdom to appear and satisfy their desires?

Cmon lets face it, there are plenty of women out there who are broke and have to make money Somehow!!!

And clearly there are plenty of boys out there who want to bitch and complain about it. And that's why there are Pros in the first place...because who wants a whiny boy who thinks that D/s is all about his needs?

Really, you should step back and think about this a bit more clearly before you continue your adolecent tantrum. Your stock continues to drop....

But there are.

I could search for it, but I admit, I'm lazy. I can recall four or five threads in the last...oh...three months complaining about net capping protocal. I can remember several more complaining about people with "master" or "dom" in their handles (this is not intended as a slight at you, but I remember it. Often.)

I know many people who have told me that they were originally so turned off by "online protocal" that they gave upon BDSM for quite some time.

Different things turn away different people

McWhips -> RE: Just joined and (5/11/2005 1:00:20 AM)

OK so if I go and pay someone tribute to DOmme me that means shes a Pro but If I give someone tribute to Dominate me she isnt Pro. Ill write that one down thanks.

McWhips -> RE: Just joined and (5/11/2005 1:02:31 AM)

Im confused, so the women who say they are Pro and do it for money are pro, whereas the other women who do it for money arent Pro.

McWhips -> RE: Just joined and (5/11/2005 1:11:17 AM)

Sorry but I think this whole site is a waste of anyones time.

McWhips -> RE: Just joined and (5/11/2005 1:57:14 AM)

Just to explain the point behind what someone said about the influx of too many money people, My search in the UK for Dommes reveal about 4-5 genuine ones the other 25 where looking for a financial arrangment. To be honest this doest bother me Im used to it, I know that there a lot of money to be taken and a lot of love not to be given for male subs in places like these!

Im not whining Im just pointing things out!!

Toilet slaves (this is an assumption though) are thought of in general terms as a kink or fetish - There are many who complain daily about more than pros and money Dominias. One of these are people who overdo caps, Thats a daily gripe (if not hourly...lol) don't forget the threads on people who are 'real and true'... another is about people who put Master/Lord/Sir in their titles and then there are the threads about people who use the slash icon... ... and then theres the slave Vs. sub routine... and the ultimate realtime Vs. online relationships...and the list goes on.

I don't think the discussion is whether or not some pro dommes are prostitutes - I am sure there are some who are using this as a form of income - thats their choice and the choice of people who pay. But its the general OPs sweeping judgements and generalizations that all subs are in it for sex... all pro dommes are prostitues and all LordandMasters are *insert generalized thought here*

Then if you don't find the site useful - don't use it.
If you don't like the money dommes - just ignore their mails and block them.
Maybe mentioning your income in your profile isn't helping and just encouraging? Just a thought.

And you are 'NrLondon' - maybe stop focusing your efforts on a website and go out to some munches and groups and clubs - meet people and enjoy the Ls around you - theres plenty there, especially in London which is one of the most kink friendly places in the UK you can visit other than Manchester and Brighton.

Peace and Love
