I can tell you from personal experience that an upper ear lobe piercing of less than one year duration will close if you take the earring out of it.,

I have had piercings in both ears (12 in each), my nose done 4 times, eyebrow, monroe...etc.  Every single one of them grew up, so I wouldn't be too worried about that part.  I have never found that a tatt feels like a cig. burn...I hate burns, but have several tatts.

I say just to get what you like and will happy with, and not worry about what some future existing, or non-existing person might think about it.  M had no problem with anything I had done, but I have added one for him as of late.

Do what makes ya happy, girl....that's my best advice.

i didn't realise that getting a tattoo would hurt "like a cigarette burn" or that it wouldn't look the same in a few years' time.  TY for telling me; i'm no longer interested in a tattoo.

If i can afford it i may get my ears double pierced; and i think i want the 2nd piercings at the tips (tops) of my ears, just to be a lil different.  This does require some thought, as it has been my experience that ear piercings do not close if you just take out the earrings.

TY for all the great advice.

Cartilage piercings will close.  I have four cartilage piercings and I keep the rings in permanently.  If you do decide to get a piercing, don't go to the mall and use a gun.  Use a piercer and a needle.
I wouldn't descibe the feeling of getting a tattoo as a burn.  To me it was more like a constant scratching.  Very tolerable.
Edited to add...my favorite part of getting a tattoo is the actual physical part of getting it.  I'm always sad when the process is over.

The pain of a Tattoo is completely individualistic. The two I have didn;t hurt at all. One is just below my collar bone on the left side of my chest and is about 4 inches in heigth and 3 in width. Only part that even hurt alittle was right by the bone and then down on the breast. The one on my back right shoulder didn't hurt at all. just felt like someone was rubbing me, Maybe classified as light abrasion play at most.

Ofcourse the colour will fade with time, but not so bad that it'll look bad. I've seen Tattoos that are over 30 years old that still look good. And it's not like you can't get it touched up. As a girl I pick areas that have low slide probability when I'm decided what and where to put one. I just booked my third one today *S*

If you think getting a tattoo hurts, wait till you go and pierce the cartliage in your upper ear. It sounds gross and hurts like hell. So good luck with that *S*

As others have stated, it is your body, if you want a tattoo or piercing, go for it.

I had a tattoo that was a brand from a previous owner.  When the time came, I went to a good tattoo artist and she was able to reconfigure the tattoo so that it didn't look the same.

Tattoos hurt.  The amount of pain is subjective, but as a rule, the thinner the skin, and the closer to a bone, the more it will hurt.  This is why babies get tattoos on the arm. (Completely kidding)

I have no experience with it, but I've heard anklebone and hand tattoos hurt the most.  I would avoid the hands, as that is very hard to hide. Then again, my grandmother got some celestial bodies tattoo'd onto her ankle when she was ~70.

Tattoos always fade in time.  Depending on the tattoo, what you do with your body, skin type, etc. it will probably be sharp for 5 years, no questions asked.  If you want a tattoo to require little maintenance, I suggest avoiding colors (at least those close together) and extremely sharp designs.  If you want it to stay sharp, it has to be done with an electric tattoo machine (although I heard, what is at best a rumor, about a tattoo laser machine that stays sharp forever.  Can't find it online, so it doesn't exist).  Stay away from scarification (cutting and rubbing in ash/charcoal/dye) and hand tapping methods.  These tattoos always fade faster.  Invest in a good tattoo, never get one thinking "well it can be removed later."  1/5 people regret getting a tattoo.  1/350 people regret getting "another tattoo."

at this point do what you wish, it's your body..  i have 3 tattoos now each with very special meaning for me (one after my gramma died, one after my dad passed away and one after boot camp and they told we 'couldn't' ...haha)

also have my nipples pierced that i did the year i turned 30.. again for me. now even though owned if i wanted another He most likely would allow it but He would have final say of course.  each is so personal though i don't regret any.  i personally that is key.  do it on a whim and you'll end up regretting it (unless it's where you can't see it daily).

Master is tattooed all over so He enjoys them but if another did not like them that is His choice to not accept me or not look.. shrugs..

I have two tats, both armbands. One is a Celtic braid representing my heritage (I am actually Norweigan, but there are no traditional Viking tats, so I went with the Celts, who are their descendants), the other I designed myself: cats eyes (go figure) with paw prints walking around them. They are meaningful to me and that is what is important. Any future Dom/me will either understand and appreciate my choice or not, and we will move our separate ways.

If you pierce your upper cartiledge, don't use a gun.  I had three piercings done with a gun in the same visit when I was around sixteen and it was a huge mistake.  I have had my nose, tongue, industrial, and tregus done.  By far, the little earrings in my upper cartiledge hurt the worse.  If you are looking for something a little different, you should get your tregus done and put a little silver ball or hoop in it.  It can look very cute and feminine.

am not currently owned. so its my body and i can do what i want with it, any Man who seeks to take me as property is going to have to take the skin i am in as well as the person inside it. If some art work over my skin is enough to stop them from taking me .. do i really want to be with them? ... for me.. its a no.

I have a clit piercing, and my ears done - 4 in right, 2 in left,  my nose is also pierced but in line with a certain cultural tradition, i am not wearing anything in it at this time. i dont have any tattoos, but do have some scarring from a previous Owner.

I wont have anymore piercings until I am owned and collared, because there is a culturally significant ceremony that i would adore to be part of a future collaring, but its a one shot job and I want to do it right.

With regard to inking my body, I have planned two tattoos - one is a stylised triskelion made quite celtic/tribal looking - its my own design and I adore it ... that one is going on my back - the other is "soft" in the centre of an intricate henna like pattern .. soft has been my nickname since childhood, I answer to it on the street and its as much my name as the one on my passport.

there is a third design but its huge, a real piece of committed art work, and I want to save it for a while. It's a garland which would start on my right thigh and wind its way up and around my body, I drafted it out once on me and i can have almost 4 feet of garland without it showing in regular work clothes.  It can be developed and evolved through my life, extended and embellished - my sister has sketched it out for me, I got my family and dearest people to all choose a favourite flower and so each of those flowers has been included in the garland, much more subtle and beautiful than "I LOVE MUM", I plan to add blossoms for my neices and nephews, and then when i have my own children .. well .. it can be like a floral family tree!

i have been debating getting a tattoo and maybe piercings (in my ears).  However, i have spoken to Doms who want a "blank canvas"; usually because they want Their mark to be the only one (or cause They dun like tattoos or piercings).

anyone got advice?

i'm still planning on getting a tattoo, and my Dom doesn't mind. Though yes he likes to tease me about it, but to him, he would be ok with it. i would say just talk to your Dom and work on a compromise. A couple or few, peircings for now, see if it affects your play, which i wouldn't think it would. And go from there. Good Luck with it

Hello,

What you say about tattoos is not my experience or the experience of the many tattoo'd people I know.  I have a pretty large piece on my chest and the only part that really hurt was around the sternum.  It certainly did *not* feel like a cigarette burn.

In the past inks tended to fade.  The new ink are much more stable and a tattoo will look alive and fresh in 20 or 30 years.

As someone else suggested, talked to a few people in the industry who are knowledgeable and talk to people who have tattoos and have had them for a while.

Take care,

Peggy

You are withholding having something done now because it might offend someone else later?

~shrug~

My only advice is to live your life as you see fit. Do what you want, when you want, and how you want to do it, including living your life for someone whose path hasn't crossed yours yet. Doesn't sound like much fun to me ... but hey ...

Never live your life on what a possible future person might or might not think about something.  You'll go crazy.

i think that sums it up. i have noticed that there are quite a few Dominants who don't like body art... but if you really do want bodyart for yourself, then they probably aren't "THE ONE" for you. i wouldn't even give it a thought as far as earrings go... they're pretty inoffensive. Whether they close or not depends on a lot of factors- your body, what size they are, how long you have them- but you're talking about tiny marks in a fairly inconspicuous place. As others have said, just go to a body piercing shop and have it done with a needle- it will cost a little bit more, but heal faster and cleaner.

However, if your tattoo is going to say something like "Dominance: Just another way of trying to compensate for a small pee-pee", you might want to consider Latin or Kanji...

I have been with several Doms and fortunately for me they like body art and piercings. You are not owned or collared...do what you want for yourself and be happy. Just be sure that whatever it is you decide on is something you can live with for the rest of your life.

I have several tats..........my oldest is nine years this summer on my upper right thigh. I am a sunworshipper. It still looks as good as the day I had it done. It is a matter of how well you take care of them once you have them.  I live in sunny hot Florida and protect them with sun block every morning. Some people do have tats that look like crap after a period of time. It's all in the manner of how well you take care of them.

i think that one is up to you too decide..i personally  have piercings, tattoo's and inferno red hair color...all of which were my choice but my master likes such things and finds them attractive so im pretty much free to do as i wish body art wise ALTHOUGH i would not go and get anything new without talking tohim first now....if you want body art, go for it..its an expression of yourself and if your dom doesnt like it...then he has a problem with a part of you that once done...can not be removed ie tattoo's

It really should be up to you and any future/potential Dom will probably understand.  I know some Dom's want a blank canvas to leave their mark BUT I can think of one Dom off of the top of my head who marked a sub and then released her a couple of months later...  In short a lot of people understand that there is a chance that the person they are interested in has a body mod of some type and handle it accordingly.

The tattoo I have (A chinese dragon) was chosen by me for me.

Its a simple of knowing myself... it represents my personality which is quite firey but also reminds me of the strength I can find when times are tough

I am soon to get a phoenix.... I am stuck with an illness for life, there are treatments that make a few years at a time better for me then life gets hard again until I can get the next treatment.
The phoenix is now to rise from the flames and the ashes... so to me that represents resiliance & the abilty to overcome anything that gets in the way.

Both tattoos are me... who I am.

My man loves me with them... he also loves the fact that they both have such strong meanings to me.
