LOL, some of you folks are funny! Yeah, screw tops, boxes and even bottle caps (like beer) will be how we find most of our everyday wine. It’s coming. Be comforted by the fact it IS new technology…just like the synthetic corks we now enjoy.
And tannin? It is not what wine is made with, kiddo…it is an essence OF wine; comes straight from the grape skin & seeds. It’s what bites at the edges of your tongue, when drinking a young red…and the presence of it helps to age a wine gracefully. It’s one of the things that makes a wine ‘big’ and wine with lots will last 40 years, a wine with little may not last five.
While I know they ‘tan hides’ making leather…I didn’t know tannin was any part of a shoe.
And, as far as bourbon not causing headaches…it sounds to me like someone drinks responsibly. I am here to tell ya…any alcohol will cause a headache if ya drink too much of it. LOL
Sweet wines (often confused with fruity)? Look for anything called a desert wine or anything ‘late harvest’ or ‘off-dry’:
Reds:
Muscat (can be red or white, many are sweet)
Some Beaujolais
Mourvedre (or Mataro)
Whites:
(Muscat (AKA: Moscado, Moscato)
(French) Sauternes
Eiswein (or Ice Wine)
Many Rieslings
Many Gewurztraminers
Some Vouvray
Some Chenin Blanc
Some Viognier
French Colombard
Marsanne
Semillon
‘White Zinfandel’ (made by pulling the skins of quicky…can (I stress that word ‘can’) be quite good).
And of course, many Ports and Sherries
