Status: offline 		I've never had a problem with nicknames unless when used inappropriately...to try and defer a reprimand, to try and "lighten up" a really serious moment, or in a disrespectful manner because they're "tired of all the lecturing"....e.g....yeah, yeah, yeah MasterTalksForever...is this going to be done soon?  Those times are not good times for doing so.  Using a pet name reserved for the two of us out in public in a BDSM D/s crowd also seems to be pushing it a bit.

My first submissive called me Master Bubble Buns when she was feeling playful as my buns are rather rounded for a guy....~shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...don't tell anyone~.  But she would have never done so when she was being reprimanded.  Then it was Sir or Master.

I don't know whether this is a "funny" name, but some time ago I began referring to Sir as "Himself" to others of our acquaintance.  Heh. I meant it as kind of a tease but it stuck and he likes it.

Status: offline 		We have a standing joke. I will call Him "Lord and Master, Grand Poobah, best Master in the whole world" and He will cock His head, smile and wait for me to say "Sir"

Most other times it's pet names like hon, sweetheart, darl.....I rarely call Him by His name. During play it's always Master, or Sir. We share the same quirky sense of humour. In fact He told me I am the first woman He's been in a relationship with that has one

Status: offline 		Y'know, I tweeze areas that're a great deal more sensitive than the brow area, and it only hurts the first time or two that you do it. A little bit of booze helps - not enough to make you blurry, but just enough to take the edge off your pain receptors. Hell, if women can put up with waxing their legs (which you'll NEVER catch me doing - OW!), I figure I can put up with plucking a few hairs around my areolae.

That thought should make me wince in sympathy pain... but it doesn't. After the first time I nicked myself with a razor shaving downstairs, I can completely understand why some folks prefer wax. Personally, since I work manual labor and get sweaty and sticky, shaving/waxing that portion of my anatomy isn't the way to go; I don't particularly enjoy the sound of flesh peeling from vinyl whenever I move.

Cutsie?  Not really, but I suppose "cutsie" is in the eye of the beholder. 

I do use terms of endearment such as sweetheart and dear, but about as "cutsie" as I get is referring to FirmhandKY as "my darling dom".   I daresay that, were I to refer to him as "Pookie Butt", it would most likely elicit laughter... but so might my calling him "Master".  It would all depend upon timing and delivery, of course. 

Seriously, I can't fathom anything I might call him with affection provoking punishment.  If a term truly offended him, he would simply let me know and I wouldn't use it again.

Then again, I've never tried calling him "sugarbritches".   I'll let you know how that works out.

If a submissive called me something that I did not like, I would make it clear I expected them not to address me that way in the future.

I have a sense of humor and most nicknames or pet names would be fine with me. I would only punish if a sub continued to use a name they had been told not to use.

It's only disrespectful, in my opinion, if the name is used after being told not to. "Pookie butt".....

Status: offline 		I don't like people to use nicknames for me. I think it's a matter of personal taste rather than respect. Now, if I've asked you to stop calling me some name of your own devising, it is respectful and courteous to obey, not because I identify as a dominant or a sadist, but because it's good manners to call people by the names (note: names, not unearned titles) that they give you. I do think it's offensive if you're not intimate with me and you assume the authority to give me a name other than what I've used to introduce myself--or, for that matter, if you assign me a title I haven't assigned myself.

Unless, of course, the name someone gives you is Mistress Domly Domette, Queen of Toppy Topical Goodness, in which case I fully support the alternate title of Pookie Pot Pie.
