Just something that bothered me.  I was reading a profile where the sub had written, "Let's play in our own leagues, shall we?" Implying that far too many unattractive people had messaged her.  Now I may not be a perfect 10, but I'm at least reasonably attractive, but what killed me was that looking at her photo, neither was she.  Now, I can understand not wanting to be with someone you're not attracted to.  But if Ron Jeremy and Hugh Heifner have taught me anything, it's that looks aren't everything.  I've seen plenty of girls I thought 'out of my league' holding hands and making out with men who looked so astoundingly ordinary.  And just a further note, you don't get to play in that league forever.

Ok so this wasn't really a discussion, I just can't stand hubris.

Ok.. about Ron Jermey and Hugh Heifner, lets be VERY honest its all about $$$ with why women like them, pure and simple.

I have gotten emails from men who say that I am 'no in' their leage as far as looks go, then when I look at this pics I laugh; I am not be everyone's definition of 'ideal' but, I don't scare men away either, heck, I will have my own site up by the end of the year {if we get enough feedback on that idea}, an I am signing a contract by the end of June to model with a new site {excited}, so I think I have 'something' that someone wants to see and likes.

What makes me attracted to someone is a mix of who they are [personality, chemistry, etc] and how they look, if we might want to have children together, then I do put a little more emphisis on looks, but, all in all, I do go by the person NOT the looks. Its the WHOLE package, not the cover or the material alone.

How do you know she was referring to looks? Did you ask her?   Maybe she was commenting on intelligence levels, age, hobbies...it could have meant 1 of a thousand different things.

I was sort of thinking along the same lines... though a thousand may be stretching it a bit.

I don't think it's all about the money with Hugh.  There's a lot of security, career advancement, social education, connections, exciting life experiences and such that go along with the Hef package.

Gotta love that Evita song:
There is no-one, no-one at all
Never has been and never will be a lover
Male or female
Who hasn't an eye on
In fact they rely on
Tricks they can try on
Their partner
They're hoping their lover will help them or keep them
Support them, promote them
Don't blame them, you're the same

It was a bit rude to say so, but people really don't have any problem sending off a snark filled email to anyone they please for whatever reason they want.

However, it is what almost everyone thinks when they get approached by someone- the immediate first impression judgement call.  This definitely includes "Are in around the same league?"

Just wanted to clarify that I did not, in fact, mail her.  That was in the first line of her profile and pretty much ruined the whole.

And she later supported the statement with words (paraphrasing here as i no longer have her profile before me) with 'no one wants to be with someone they're not attracted to'  The impression that came across was very much in the physical beauty area.

Well she thinks pretty highly of herself and either really doesn't want to be hassled by people she won't be interested in, is a rude prissy bitch, or just really wants some hot guy to put her down where she belongs.

Or all three.

I've noticed more than half the profiles seem to concentrate on either looks and/or money.

Kind of a sad statement about society...

Maybe she was implying, since you did say she was reasonably attractive but nothing to write home about...that she didn't think she was all that, and was tired of all the model types and 10s messaging her?  lol   Just joking....I know this is not a beauty contest in the least and some people are too hung up on things like that.  Am done for the day hopefully.

She'll miss out on meeting a lot of great people. Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. And we all have different taste. Too bad she didn't qualify what her tastes were...that would save everybody a lot of questioning of themselves, and from wasting their time on her (who, even they were willing to take a risk on).

just a kitten lookin for play...

Lets not play out of our own leagues. You know exactly what I mean. I dont know anyone who would want to be with someone they dont find physically attractive.

**also, if you dont like what i have to say then please do not waste mine or your time by telling me. I do not care. I know it makes you feel better to say something but having you voice your negitivity on what I want is fruitless. so keep it to yourself.**

In and only in or around the Washington D.C./Northern VA areas.

I believe this was the profile...and i thought it was laughable myself...whats worse is this little twit really doesnt care what anyone thinks.   LOL

Part of me is incredibly curious to know who this is! Sorry to hear she's in the D.C. area, though. Like we didn't have enough problems already?

yay I have found her and her radiating beauty humbled me.

But seriously ... yes she is a pretty girl and I imagine she gets a lot of mail. I am not saying she is justified in being a conceited .... person. It is what it is and honestly I wouldn't want to spend much time with her or the people answering her profile lol. But that is just me.

The one thing that I've consistently read on these boards over and over and over that's completely overrated... is how women are looking guys with fat wallets.

Outa the quite-a-few ladies I've talked to /met from CM, I've yet to find any gold diggers. Nota one - Believe it.

If you find yourself attracting money-girls, you're either a sucker or you're fuckn' up in some other way.

Geez, guys. i appreciate you taking so much time to discuss my profile. I in no way think i am "soooo hot" but i know im no ugly duckling. I happen to like physically attractive people, that is after all the first thing a person usually notices. Perhaps league was not the best word choice but it got the point across well. I, unlike most women, do not care about how much money you have. I am unmaterialistic. money does not impress. Brains, however, do. Brains and looks...killer. Thats a package i can go for. I see that most of you think i should be more specific as to what i find physically attractive. Well, that is hard, i do not have a certian type or look that i typically go for. As said in this thread before, beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. Why should i get so much flack for wanting someone i am attracted to? we like who we like, im sorry for having such a strong preference in people.  that is possibly because i am not a people person, im a bit of a loner. Being a loner does not mean im lonely or that i have few friends. It means i enjoy being by myself and keeping to myself or with one other. Physical attraction is not the end all be all. there must be something behind it... brains, sardonic/witty humor, similar tastes in the arts. Usually though, people I personally find physically attractive share those qualities with me. If there is anything else you feel you need to discuss about/with me. feel free.

As fat as he is, Jeremy has a 10 inch dick....Hefner has 800 katrillion bucks.

I deliberately didn't place her name or her profile.  The reason is because I wanted to discuss a point, not bring focus on a single person.  She has a right to her own personal opinions as does anyone else.

As long as she sees the hysterical irony in pointing out just how non-materialistic she is (and how dare we suggest otherwise) and then in the same breath talking about how important looking hot to her is.
