I think we should get Congress to put a ban on SUV's. We need to close the SUV loop hole. There is no need for us to have SUV's. Did they run this driver through the Federal database before he was allowed to drive this SUV?  I hear they have started a group called "The Brady Bunch Against SUV Violence".  I feel that SUV's are weapons of mass destruction!

um well i think that is a good Idea if your able to aford any car ou tthere on the lot but
if the only car the lot has that is in your price rang is an SUV then that is what you need
when i whent to get my new car last wintter when my lincoln was wrecked all the dealer had that i could aford was a GMC Jimmy so i drive a SUV

I actually live in the mountains and I really do need that SUV to get around in the winter.  I don't want to be stuck in a ditch in -20 windchill.

also my SUV dosnt even work in 4wheel drive

You don't need them. Most people who have them don't really need them anyways, single people without kids. They are made for cargo, a large familys, etc. They send up so much polution, wastefull.

Is this because I said you aren't scary lol.  I think the size of them has gotten out of control and needs regulated if nothing else.  I have a Jeep Wrangler....neither too big or too polluting.  However, anything Hummer makes is too damn big.  Here's my take on it...if you can't fit it in a parking spot at the mall it's too damn big

i agree the size of SUV;s have goten out of control
they need to stop making them so big
i agree with that but also the small ones some where built with these tiny gass guzling engines alot of ppl think that i drive  Jimmy wich is a suv so they auto think its a v8 or somthing well actuly my SUV is a V6 ands its smaller then midsize

Bite me, no that's NOT an offer. You were a jurk, so I am ignoring you on there. Insulting slaves and subs was a BAD idea..

Hummers should ONLY be allowed in warzones and in LA, where they are practical, otherwise, what the heck does someone need an assault vehicle for?? I will stick to my little compact, tyvm. Good gas mileage, safe, gets me from point a to point b, AND I can get around the big obnoxious vehicles.

Ya know, I can deal with SUV's for people who need them. However, what I see here in Arkansas are tons of people driving hummers. When the hummer stops - only one single girl will get out. Or those big manly man trucks. Usually one or two people get out. They don't need to be driving them. I think unless you can prove that 4 wheel drive is the only way to get down your drive way or you have 4 kids, then you can't drive one. I think they should be fined.

With all the better fuel friendly options like smaller cars and Jetta's why mess around with big gas guzzeling "see me" SUV'S?

*sighs* That was a sarcastic comment meant to poke fun at those who claim that...ie, trolls....I kind of thought the 3 kiddings after that would confirm that.

Your vehicle, good for for LA....it suits your purpose.  My vehicle, good for winters in West Virginia where we have a foot or so of snow and ice...it suits my purpose.  Maybe the people in the assault vehicles are planning an assault sometime....better keep an eye on them.

I live in Fresno, 115 in the summer, 50 in the winter. Some cars have 4WD. The assault vehicles are the govs way of getting rid of surplus parts.

The Governator dirves a Hummer, {shutters}, snow in the valley.

the hummers are basicly a f150 there nothing but a big body on a little fram
now there are the hummers that run on DEISLE those are not bad with MPG i drove one for a few days ones but decided i didnt need it just wanted to look cool but it did do anythiing but make me look like im a jerk on the road at the time .

Yes, that's right folks: public transportation causes more pollution that personal vehicles. Why? In order to encourage people to use public transportation, the government issues cuts on costly environmental requirements that are standard for personal vehicles, but are absent in public transportation. Public transportation, typically has underserviced equipment that burns diesel, which is a much more pulluting fuel than high-octane gasoline.

That that anyone would know this; you're all to jealous of the people who drive SUVs to really care.

No, I do not drive an SUV -unless it's the Fire Department's.

I love love love love love love love my SUV.  I will never drive any other kind of vehicle.  I have a long, steep driveway that I need four wheel drive for in the winter.  The only accident that I've gotten into was when I was stopped at a stop sign and some idiot girl plowed into me from behind.   The cute little car that daddy had bought for her was spewing all kinds of liquids onto the road after that and looked very sad on the flatbed.  She got a ticket.  I, on the other hand, drove home without a single mark on my Tahoe.  My three year old was safe and unharmed.  The only complaint from that day was that the ice cream that I bought from the store had melted.  If I remember correctly, and don't hold me to it, but the old guy who plowed through the farmers market out in Cali a few years ago and killed a bunch of people was not driving a SUV.

I may not have tons of kids anymore, and I dont need to carry cargo everyday.
But I do use it to pull thing!  One Vehicle person here who cant afford 2.
I'll keep my SUV or buy a 350 truck. 
(hell here I thought I did my part by not driving the truck!)

a 350 cool they are hudge and i love the dodge 3500 is runs awsome for a 1 ton i drove one a few months back for a couple of weeks at a job

Hello,

My house is at 8,800 feet.  It's on a dirt road.  It snowed there yesterday.  I have two 50 lbs dogs.  I drive a 2002 4WD Nissan Pathfinder.  I am a technical rock climber and some of the places I go climbing are not accessible in one of those cute little compacts, unless I want to rip the undercarriage out.

Someone please explain to me why I shouldn't be driving an SUV.

i drive a '97 monte carlo LS. i garuntee that some of the newer SUV's get better gas milage than the gas hog that i drive, but i miss my trucks. the next vehicle i get will be an SUV or a truck and most likely a 4x4. some of us just need to haul or go places that wussy cars wont go...
