PavlovTrainer -> RE: Favorite 1 hit wonder song? (5/28/2007 9:18:48 PM)

OK kiddies, Here's the answer to today's trivia question..... The Easybeats have a connection to AC/DC. I admit that I don't remember the exact connection, but I believe the Aussie member is Bon Scott's brother or something like that.

Now back to the countdown

My favorite one hit wonder is "Friday On My Mind" by the Easybeats. Don't hear very often, and it has a great pedigree. Trivia question for you all. What Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have a direct connection to the Easybeats???

Your favorite musicoligist,
Pavlov

I love the guitar work at the beginning. As for the trivia, I don't know.... where's Google when I need it? lol

Actually, the member of The Easybeats is the older brother of Angus and Malcom Young. I want to say his name is George, but I am not sure of his name.

More than one person has mentioned "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty. He was actually a 2 hit wonder at least. "Right Down the Line" was the other charting single from the album.

Pav

Yep, go back and you'll find a link to it in one of the posts, Pav. Good tune.

"The Flying Machine -- Smile a Little Smile For Me (Rose Marie)"

Bit of trivia here, supposedly The Flying Machine was James Taylor's early band, and the line in "Fire and Rain" where he sings, "sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground is a reference to it.

Neat trivia [8|]. I love "Fire and Rain", so here's a clip - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0gETPM25L0&mode=related&search=

Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone
Susanne the plans they made put an end to you
I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just can't remember who to send it to

I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again

Won't you look down upon me, Jesus
You've got to help me make a stand
You've just got to see me through another day
My body's aching and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way

Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again

Been walking my mind to an easy time my back turned towards the sun
Lord knows when the cold wind blows it'll turn your head around
Well, there's hours of time on the telephone line to talk about things
to come
Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground

Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you, baby, one more time again, now

Thought I'd see you one more time again
There's just a few things coming my way this time around, now
Thought I'd see you, thought I'd see you fire and rain, now
