Procol Harum -- A Whiter Shade of Pale

Fantastic song, and look for the version done by HSAS (Sammy Hagar, Neil Schon, Kenny Aaronson, and Michael Shrieve), it rocks. - http://youtube.com/watch?v=wc0imHr5Mxc

Ooh, found the HSAS one - http://youtube.com/watch?v=lpw_Hx-ABrM

Shocking Blue -- Venus  (later a hit for somebody else as a cover)

Another very cool song, and I did not know the singer was a woman! - http://youtube.com/watch?v=U2DBcbZc3ck

darkclouds -> RE: Favorite 1 hit wonder song? (5/28/2007 1:48:30 PM)

Thank you thank you thank you for the 10cc link. That is one of my all time favorite songs. Loved the 33333 song too, but 8 was always my favorite.

Now for another fricken kick-ass one hit wonder...Matthew Sweet "Girlfriend". That song totally rocks!!!

You're welcome, but I hate that I couldn't find the one song for you. youTube rarely fails, but it does happen.

Oh, it's not surprising.  "Makin' It" slipped in right at the end of the disco era and was off the charts right after it hit them.  David Naughton's career didn't last too much longer, lol.   It's just one of those songs that got under my skin and makes me feel like dancing all over the house when I hear it....after I shut the curtains.[;)]

gothicdiva -> RE: Favorite 1 hit wonder song? (5/28/2007 2:06:26 PM)

They (10cc) also sang "The Things We Do for Love." I think I wore out that 45 when I was in the 7th grade...LOL There are just too many GREAT "one hits" out there. Great thread, but ya'll are reminding how old...I mean, young...I am....: )

Be well,
M. Diva

Noooo, throw those curtains open, and shake that booty! [8D]

gothicdiva -> RE: Favorite 1 hit wonder song? (5/28/2007 2:14:25 PM)

Ok, don't know if anyone mentioned this song...for some reason it just came to me and I started singing it. Not sure if it was a "one hit wonder" or not...Level, you may know. "No Matter" by Badfinger....GREAT SONG! I want to believe they had more hits than this.

My YouTube sound does not work for some reason, so I can't listen to the videos...: (

Singing....

"NO MATTER WHAT"

No matter what you are
I will always be with you
Doesn't matter what you do, girl
Ooh girl, with you

No matter what you do
I will always be around
Won't you tell me what you found, girl
Ooh girl, want you

Knock down the old, grey wall
Be a part of it all
Nothing to say, nothing to see, nothing to do
If you would give me all
As I would give it to you
Nothing would be, nothing would be, nothing would be

No matter where you go
There would always be a place
Can't you see it in my face, girl
Ooh girl, want you

Yeah, I'm feeling my joints creak a bit too, going through all these lol.

I'd forgotten about that other 10cc song; that makes them two hitters, but that's okay.

Here it is. http://youtube.com/watch?v=T29-VNiC3Qg

I wonder why your sound isn't working.... does it work otherwise? Some of these clips have uneven sound quality, though I'm trying to find good ones.

Badfinger had at least two other hits, both excellent tunes.

"Day After Day", and "Baby Blue" were both hits for them. Good stuff.

Edgar Winter - Frankenstein

And how about:

Ambrosia - I Keep Holding on to Yesterday
