Don't forget "99 Red Balloons"  though can't recall who sang it other than they were from Germany.

i thought they were from sweden and the real meaning of the song was to stop teh nukes. anyhow tons of good picks.

the 80s were a great time!

"Afternoon Delight" by Starland Vocal Band
"Makin' It" by David Naughton (the Dr. Pepper guy)
Yes, i have to admit i love "Afternoon Delight" and "Makin' It" is good too.  Someone else mentioned "My Sharona" which i love.  Seventies music, esp. the one hit wonders, have to be my favorites.  Narrowing it down from hundreds....lol...i came up with a list of some of the best:

Thunder Island - Jay Ferguson
Gold - John Stewart (no, not THAT Jon Stewart)
Stumblin' In - Suzi Quatro and Chris Norman (Leather Tuscadero rocks!)
Toein' The Line - Rocky Burnette
New York Groove - Ace Frehley ("Kiss" guy solo)
Torn Between Two Lovers - Mary McGregor (the tables are turned...lol)
Baby Come Back - Player (Ridge Forrester rocks!)
Moonlight Feels Right - Starbuck (best xylophone solo ever!!!!)
Romeo's Tune - Steve Forbert
Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon (aaaa oooooo)

80's:
Get Your Rocks Off - Primal Scream
Shake It - Ian Matthews (from "Little Darlings" - a great 80's movie)
Hearts - Marty Balin
In My House - Mary Jane Girls

90's:
Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve (even if it was stolen from the "Stones")
You Get What You Give - The New Radicals
Are You Jimmy Ray? - Jimmy Ray (i loved this....lol)

It's almost embarrassing to admit liking some of these....but not so embarrassing as to keep it secret.......luci

Mmmmbop-Hanson  I know, I'm a dork.

Only problem is that they werent a one hit wonder.  They had 2 other songs that charted in the top 10 in the US and even better in the UK and Australia.

Oops forgot to include my favorite.. Come On Eileen by Dexy's Midnight Runners

Yes, but we're playing a little loose with the "one hit" tag; now your pick (a damn good one btw) was a one-hitter for sure.
