Why is it that there seems to be many Dominants in the 60-70 year old age bracket, but not many submissives.  If you are submissive at 30, 40, or 50, are you not still submissive at 60-70?

Maybe they just are not connected internet wise, a lot of people that age have not been interested in exploring cyber-space.
If your speaking about being out in your local community, maybe they haven't gotten their Hover-Round yet....Bad I know,
just kidding.

Are there many mistresses 60 plus? Perhaps it is not a dominant/sub thing, but a female thing?

You are correct juliaoceania.  It does appear that there are about the same number of Dommes as subs in that age range, so I do agree that is is more of a female thing. I also mistakenly left out the specific of female submissives in the age range 60-70.

I cant totally agree about the net thing.  60+ year old Dominants dont have that market covered in use of some ~new fangled~ device, the Submissives would be here too.

Old Submissives (speaking from the point of a woman) dont cease to be once they pass some magical age, or at least I think cause I'm not quite there yet.
I'd have to venture a guess that many of them if single have just given up the search.
The few profiles I have read from 60+ year old (male) Dominants often read that their interest/want is a younger woman, many times 20-30 years their junior.  So, do the math and see how many 80-90 year old Dominants are out there searching for 60-70 year old Submissives..  not many.

To be perfectly honest, although I love Dominant men few in that age group that find me interesting can keep up with me.  (I'm 49)  and the way I see it is I am not about to slow down anytime soon.  It may be selfish, but few Dominants over the age of 60 would be able to meet my needs. So, as it is right now I've pretty much given up any searching.

I am going to take a stab at this question after considering it more. I usually resist making assumptions about why entire demographics of people do what they do without at least talking to them, but I will give this a stab.

My mom is in the age range that you discuss in the OP. This is an entirely different generation than people who are 5 to 10 years younger. They predate the Baby Boomers, you know, that generation that showed us the way to "free love". Now my guess is that there are many naturally submissive women in this age range, but to them it would be too "unseemly" to explore this world. To many of them it would be outside the boundaries of acceptable behavior. They grew up and came of age in a different era.

The difference between this generation and the Baby Boomers can be vast at times. I think in about 5 years you will see a drastic increase in the number of submissives in this demographic as more of the Boomers cross that age barrier of 60

That's interesting Quivver.  I've noticed the same thing.  Men in their late 50s or even early 50s who want a much younger sub or slave.  I think to myself...wtf?  I mean more power to them if they can find one, but those are often the same ones that complain their emails don't get answered!  Go figure!

Partially, at least, supply and demand.  Younger submissives have a relatively easy time finding doms.  As their age increases the demand for these submissives declines.  Some submissives elect to attempt to present themselves as doms as it gives them more opportunity to interact at all and especially to interact with younger partners. Alas, most subs who follow this path are less than credible playing as a dom.

Majority of those who have a profile here are single and seeking a partner or are seeking a third or play or whatever. I'm wondering whether the older people are already in a grown relationships more than those who are younger and therefore see no reason to sign up?

I can understand why you think an older man might not be able to keep up with you, but I can't understand why that would lead you to give up.  How about a man the same age as you?  Or maybe--it's all the rage these days--a YOUNGER man?

I've seen plenty of older submissives and slaves, although, I generally do not inquire about age...I would guess they were late 50's and well into their 60's. But, I haven't seen them on the internet, mostly at real time events...after having been married to their Master or Dominant for umpteen years. I suppose, they have nothing to search for. Hopefully I will age gracefully into one of them.

By the way, I enjoy them to no end. In general, they have the grace and subtleties that the years have given them. Sitting down to coffee for the proverbial "stitch and bitch" is wonderful...especially being separated from my family. Because we are active in the same unspoken community, the the relationship can be very familial.

Of course, that's just me and my local community. I would never speak for the entire demographic of older submissivies, at large. Everyone has different reasons. But, just because you're not seeing them on the internet or can't Google them does not mean they're not there.

My 2 cents on this issue. It all comes down to experience. At the age of 60 (give or take) someone has either gotten very picky in what they want from someone if they are searching, or if they are still inexperienced they tend to assume no one is going to want a much older newbie. Assuming they are not searching for their first experience at that age, most of the older women I know who are or were in the lifestyle and still single and searching (or occasionaly starting the search again after the death of a partner) have a long list of like snad dislikes that makes them choosier. The ones I know prefered realtime face toface searching in the communities rather than online work becasue they no longer trusted that the people they speak to are real. This all comes from friends (not just my opinions)

My friend Val \ a 58 yr old sub female, said "Its like an animal shelter. The puppies are easy to find homes for. They are still cute, fluffy and perky all the time. The older dogs, while perfectly trained and mellowed out, are harder to place becasue their prospective owners dont know what they already know, and think its going to be too much work teaching an old dog new tricks. Its a catch 22, either you have no experience and no one ants to teach you, or you have too much and noone wants to reteach you. So, I play and impress them here (we were at a club) and then they can make their decisions from actualy knowing me, not reading my emails."

Hello all

I am a man of 60 and a submissive and all I can tell you is what I feel.  I’d bet, that as in politics, my feelings and thoughts match most of my age group.

I believe PainCompliant is on the right track. Make a search on Collarme around the world and you will find Dominates in all age groups. Like it or not the most popular are those with pleasing physical attributes. The second most popular are those with imposing personas. The third group are those of wisdom experience and age. All of these alternatives are attractive to a submissive of any age.

Now turn it around and be honest. The most popular submissive again is one with pleasing physical attributes. The second most popular is a submissive that will match and submit to your wants and needs. Now how many out there truly desire a submissive with age and experience.

Here are some facts… there are a lot more submissive than dominate… if a young man with my same attributes is out there he will be chosen over me in most cases. Not a whine just a fact. Red Fox once said “ There is nothing uglier than a 90 year old white woman” he was wrong!…. to most a 90 year old submissive would be down right revolting. Another fact of life… who wants to see grandma or granddad in a scene at a play party.

So what happens… If you put yourself out there and no one wants you…. you have two choices… give up or change. I think many older subs start listing themselves as switches or Doms… just to have any chance at all to fulfill desires.

Dear TennesseeRain, Ladies and Gentlemen;

In my mind's eyes I see, there is nothing better than a slave male who is older than me or about my age.  I will consider slightly younger, especially if they have some mileage in the lifestyle.

For me, I would like to have someone who is more my age, as they remember 'when.'  In addition, should they have roughly the same amount of scene/lifestyle experiences--they remember 'when' as I do and feel comfortable in that practice and protocols of those times.
Even more important, the phase of kinky sex and fantasy are long gone and the magic and myths of the lifestyles are known; as well as I am not living in a relationship with a huge gap of experiences as to create much like a parent-child relationship.

Some of my fond memories of being served have been with men my age or older.  Military men add even more starch to the protocols and have their pride but, not as to become 'in your face.'  I do believe it is a matter of maturing and aging.  Instead of current music, we're talking about aches of having our parents age, die and or put into care giving. Only those who have some idea what you're going through can relate and comfort, which is one of the blessings through service a slave can offer--comfort and compassion.

Just some thoughts.

Respectfully submitted for consideration,
Lady Hugs

No.  I'm 48, I've been submissive most of my adult life, and I figure at 51....I'm gonna kick some fucking ass.

(Said of course, in the most submissive of ways).

I would imagine that fear of being outed and being uncomfortable with online dating services enters into this also. They would feel odd venturing alone to a public gathering and they are more likely than younger people to believe that anyone searching on the net is probably an axe murderer.

Plus they are more likely to be out of a long term relationship and not interested or afraid of dating again for the first time in 40 years. And of course, the knees can't handle the kneeling.

Well LAM as much as I do get along with those young pups I usually surpass them in life experiance.  Somehow the thought of being Sub to one of them just doesnt feel right.  I would much prefer a Dominant close to my age, even older if he still has that use it or loose it mind set about life in general.  Problem is most have settled down and are comfortable taking the safe route.  I worry them...............

Occasionally I do find one who's still got some life in them, but it's those who easily attract those younger Subs.  Either that or I would venture a guess that a good 85%
I hear from are married and looking to fufill something they are not getting at home.

So.... for the most part..... I give up
