Not the expert here but...

Isn't it bad form to resurrect a dead thread of over 6 months ago and then quote people from it? What makes you think these people are still around to reply?

Why not just make your own comments in a new thread? One benefit is that the rest of us don't have to read 10 pages back to understand what you wish to say. As it stands, I haven't even read your 3-4 new comments here because I know I will not bother to try to understand the context for them (which may require reading 10 pages back - not gonna happen).

YMMV

Its a a response to the ideas posted on this MB. The ideas, words, and writings remain -- they don't disappear --- forgetting about them would be a disservice. Not knowing about them would be a minor tragedy.

I don't think that only today and only today's posts/posters matter. Yesterday's posts might actually be more important.

Part of any message board is its memory. It does take time to explore the past, and I can appreciate your decision not to go there.

Though I do agree with you chaingang..... too many times... have we seen the.. there's a thread on this subject already.. why repeat the thread..

So now it's easier to just go to thread grave yard.. and dig up oldies.. and make others dread reading back 12 pages from over 6 months ago... LOL

i agree, true. But damn, that was a lot of pages and i just didn't want to invest the time...LOL. However the case - linking to old threads or posting old threads - we all have the option of whether or not we want to read them. This particular one took up too much mental energy and i wasn't interested in what seemed like an old spat....so i closed it. That's the beauty of discussion boards - you can be selective of what you read and respond to :)

i reopened it because i saw you had posted and i like reading your posts :)

no comment to the rest of the post, as others have more than covered it, i just wanted to point out that i *do* get sexually excited by having money or certain items given. that is related to my vanilla sex-life as i dont' feel sexual towards those submissive to me. in bdsm-terms, the power position of being given things, especially if something they wouldn't normally part with to others, is very pleasurable in a non-sexual way that i enjoy greatly.

the first time i was given a 250g hard-drive from my bestfriend was back when 250g was a tremendous amount of storage space and costly, i almost orgasmed on unwrapping it. as we were sexual, it led directly to sex as i was too turned on to wait... and spent the rest of the day buzzing high on hormones while attaching the new drive to my system and loading my files into it. technological upgrades are a sexual stimulus for me. sure, i "masturbate" by getting them for myself.... and spend lovely minutes and hours going from store to store comparing speed, storage, etc; looking at boxes, thinking about what it'll be like to install and/or use them.... but being given them is pleasing in a different way.

Kinda gives a whole new meaning to the term "hard drive" and I don't think Bill Gates had this in mind when he developed Windows!

BTW, love your post! Thanks for sharing.

You deserve a spot on GWB's intelligence team. Just like them, you translate your own insecurities into lies and/or rumours too baselessly malign someone with whom you don't agree. That's right, someone like me, I'm "with the terrorists" b/c I oppose the IRAQ war. Whatever you do, don't let facts or realities get in the way of your claims. There's more of a connection between 9-11 and Saddam Hussein then there is between r1 and myself.

And upon starting a new thread on an old subject there would be links posted by many referring to the old threads.... hmmm, sounds like a catch 22 if I ever heard one...

Akasha

At first I thought (not being too up on the message board controversies) this was a compliment to cloudboy, calling him a realist or a realone, and I am thinking, whoa, cloudboy, why you be jumping all over Akasha like that?
But now I see that you think he IS someone called realone.
But I know cloudboy, and he is no realone.

And if I may say so, "realone" as a message board name, is a bit of an oxymoron...LOL!!
