ORIGINAL: subrouge Hi im submissive and enjoy learning about new ideas with my master. I have expressed an intrest in breath play and so far have been totally suprised by how much i enjoy this. My master has asked me to see if i can find out more about this to see if i fully understand it before he goes any further with me. The best idea I've heard for breath play, so far, is to simply hold your breath. Sure, it means the Dom isn't entirely in control, but it is also a lot safer. The alternative is to restrict access to air; as others have said, that's edge play, i.e. there is significant risk. Talk to a doctor about it. Seriously. They won't be enthusiastic about it, but if you ask nicely, they will explain why this is so. A doctor can also point out the location of the carotid and jugular, both of which you'll want to avoid, as well as the bit about the larnyx. A web site is not a place to learn about anatomy. That's something you learn from physical contact under professional guidance; i.e. taking anatomy classes, or having the doctor show you what s/he already knows. If, after evaluating the risks, you still want to try it, a viable approach might be to have a qualified instructor teach your Dom how to perform a choke hold that is not a vascular choke.
