WillowRain -> Movie Recomendations? - 300 (5/29/2007 5:59:43 AM)

300 is worth seeing. Two hours, of stupid brave, honerable men and women. Lots of dirty, hard male bodies striding forward into battle, lots... lots and lots and lots of displays of male strength.. enough to make you squirm. Clanging shields, drop dead gorgeous women, blood, humor and integrity. Very pretty styalistically, the movie does a good job visually feeling like a graphic novel.

Expect wet panties.
Or a wet theater seat.
Enjoy!

Any other movies to add to the drool list? Speak up, confess, who else watched Braveheart in their youth more times than a normal person?

I used to like that - until I read somewhere that during the filming of that movie, Brad Pitt never once showered...and when asked to, he just put on a new shirt...and the movie took MONTHS to shoot...

Now, when I watch that movie, that's all I can think of...*shudder*

There are certain scenes in Mr. & Mrs Smith that I watch over and over and over. (I have athing for Angelina. Doesn't everybody?)

I loved the 300. The lead actor has a body like Master, so it was very drool worthy for me.

the best part about 300 is that neither facet of Brangelina were in it.  not everyone has a "thing" for them/her/him, contrary to OsideGirl's assumption.

this slave is entertained by movies/plays/productions that have interesting costumes, characters or stories that stimulate her mind or inspire laughter.

movies with heavy themes of vanilla sex, non-consensual violence, horror, dismemberment, killing, gore...don't get this slave sexually stimulated....they tend to inspire either nausea or boredom, regardless of the actor/actress involved.

  Well, gee....it was just a joke, not an assumption.

Did anyone else notice that the guy who narrated the film was also the little monk in Van Helsing and Faramir in LOTR?

WillowRain -> RE: Movie Recomendations? - 300 (5/29/2007 4:26:30 PM)

Willing to fight for your beliefs is not being stupid brave but Honorable.

Stupid brave is a personal term. To me it represents when someone is brave beyond all reason, past the point of sense. Many firefighters, heck, goodness, think back to 911 and all the brave police officers, and medical personel, and heck firemen that went inside after the first tower had already collapsed. They set asside the very human desire for self preservation to help others, to do their job. That takes a certain level of courage and internal strength that not everyone has. It is a place where courage and duty can overpower wisdom.

I do not consider the term a negative, although I can understand why others would think I meant it that way. I agree with you that being willing to fight for your beliefs is honerable. In this particular case it was more than fight, it was fight and die, for something even more profound than something so small as personal honor, they died for others, for their people, for their country, for freedom.

It is easy to speak of honor and sacrafise, of codes and ideals, to manifest that in ones life is a whole other kingdom. These men held to a code of honor that did not just cover their own shadows, it spread across nations, it changed the tide of a war and the way war is fought.

Thanks everyone for your recomendations. :)

Shrek the Third. I thought it was hilarious! (Yes the "You can do whatever you want" message is a bit strong but it's a kid's movie). Plus Snow White does a *GREAT* tribute to Led Zeppelin. Also, if you are the kinda sub who can take care of herself physically and is fiesty, it's a lot of fun to watch the princesses kick butt!

Lashra -> RE: Movie Recomendations? - 300 (5/29/2007 7:47:31 PM)

My sub and I saw it. He loved it and I fell asleep[&:] I've seen so many movies of the same vein that I just guess I have had my fill of them.

It was cute. My son loved it, he wants to see it again. Besides, the bad guy loses, and things work out.The Princesses kick BUTT. It gives you that 'female power' thing, lol.

I love, love, love all the Shrek movies. Valyraen had promised to take me the night it came out but it turned out that was the weekend we were going to see his brother graduate.

lockedaway -> RE: Movie Recomendations? - 300 (5/29/2007 8:51:30 PM)

"The Lives of Others" was a brilliant movie.  It is a German film subtitled in English.  It is an excellent film.  It will be out on video in June.  "Twenty Eight Weeks Later" was very good.  It takes up where "28 Days" leaves off.  It is extremely stylish and has a great sound track.  There is only a couple of weaknesses, foremost being the re-immergence of a certain character.  But that's about it, you won't regret the money you spent seeing it.

reallygoodgirl -> RE: Movie Recomendations? - 300 (5/30/2007 9:36:00 AM)

I loved 300, too. It was the best theater experience I have had in a long time.

The typical movies that make me drool seem to be a little different than what has been posted here, but here goes:
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle - Justin Theroux as Seamus O'Grady
Cape Fear - I was in love with DeNiro for a long time after seeing that one!
Legend - Tim Curry's character Lord of Darkness/devil was my childhood fantasy
Clockwork Orange
Rocky Horror - loved Frankie
Sin City
Natural Born Killers
Karla - the parts that made me drool were the sex scenes, not the killing

chellekitty -> RE: Movie Recomendations? - 300 (5/30/2007 4:20:25 PM)

almost any movie with Christian Bale or Vin Diesel does it for me...
and anything animated for my littles...esp monsters inc and lilo and stitch

edited to add: oh and for the performer in me, i love musicals...

reallygoodgirl -> RE: Movie Recomendations? - 300 (5/30/2007 8:09:52 PM)

Yeah, Vin Diesel in XXX floated my boat for a while. Same for Christian Bale in pretty much everything, especially American Psycho and Batman Begins.

Another one for me is Jack Nicholson in Witches of Eastwick. Huge childhood fantasy fodder for me. Still is!

Clint Eastwood in anything.

Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp in Tombstone. And Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday... keep dreaming! He had such a way with words...!!!

I would also add Charlie Sheen's character from Apocalypse Now, and also especially  Robert Duvall as Lt. Colonel Kilgore. That man had it down!

Another one I'd like to point out for those who like those raw animal-type men is Matthew McConaughey playing Denton Van Zan in Reign of Fire. Christian Bale's in that one, too! *slobber*!!! ;)

But i don't tend to go for the highly publicized so-called beauty queens and the glorified studs that have been shoved down our throats til we gag.

yep yep yep - me too - i think all this gore and violence has become an extremely poor substitute for talent and skill. i mean who needs to really act much if all you're doing is running from the next blow up or running toward someone yelling. Hell i can do that - heh heh.
