Faramir -> Male Inferiority (5/22/2005 10:37:50 AM)

Saw this today in a profile:
quote:

"I'm not just a girl w/ a Dominant lifestyle.
I believe in female superiority but respect a male's inferiority..."

Not sure exactly how you can "respect male inferiority," but....

WTF is up with this? I never hear male doms talk about female inferiority, and never heard a woman speak about her own inferiority, but it seems pretty common in femdom to male sub. Where does that come from? And do lesbian femdoms talk about...some female inferiority? Like, if the genesis of the power exchange is gender inferiority, how could a femdom dominate another woman?

I'm sure this attitude is not universal among femdoms, just curious if anyone had any insight it this model's origin. Is there like a Gor type book with inferior men or something in popular culture of BDSM that made this popular?

Lordandmaster -> RE: Male Inferiority (5/22/2005 10:45:42 AM)

I know what you mean, but there are some male-supremacist d/s groups around. There was one that had a Yahoo group (don't remember what they were called or whether they still exist); I was curious to join to see what the hell they talk about, but was rejected when my application statement was considered insufficiently male-supremacist.

Also, I'm hardly a Gorean, but from what I understand of that rarefied verbiage, it's a world where all males dominate and all females are subordinate.

I have. I see it all the time here. It isn't institutionalised or branded with the same kind of title. But I see it. And not only in Gor.

Maybe in fantasyland. But in reality, I know very few Dominas who are into female superiority. Now apparently this is different from Female supremacy. For a more detailed debate on this, I suggest you read the threads Women in Control or Female Supremacy??? My rant... to name a few.

Well see, that has always been my point. As you might have gathered, I'm not one of the believers of Female superiority.

I have not researched it much as I don't give it much creedence. But if you are interested in seeing some widely accepted views, you might want to read some of Elise Sutton's writings.

MadameDahlia -> RE: Male Inferiority (5/22/2005 11:32:22 AM)

How utterly laughable.

Neither gender is inherently superior. There can be superior examples of both, but there are some real losers of either gender as well.

As for it being common amongst FemDoms and male submissives I’d agree… if you’re talking about pornographic representations of that dynamic.

If a male submissive approached me and asked me to take his “worthless, inferior slut self” and train him even though he is “probably too stupid to ever do it right” I’d laugh myself silly and delete the message.

Why would I want some broken down, sniffling submissive who has set himself up for failure (and perhaps punishment?) – preposterous. I want someone who knows his own worth, who is a strong individual who enjoys letting his guard down for that spectacular someone. While I revel in his tears, his winces and his yelps I don’t want someone who acts like an abused puppy all the time.

BlkTallFullfig -> RE: Male Inferiority (5/22/2005 11:40:14 AM)

You've NEVER heard of male superiority?? How about Gor, I don't know enough about it but, from my glimpse it seems to be predicated on that...

How about all over the world? Why has no woman ever been the President of the united states? They've all been busy menstruating and breeding?? M

I've never read the Gor books - only read some quotes online in the last two years, so I don't know a ton about it. I guess I just really didn't think of that as "real" D/s but that's really my bias. It might be fairer to say, "Outside of Gor I haven't heard male doms speak about female inferiority."

Clearly I'm speaking about D/s. Your talking about something unrelated to D/s intimacy.

In my humble (being fairly new to lifestyle) opinion, all aspects of this lifestyle are real for whomever is living them on their (female/male supremacy, Masters/slaves, etc) terms...
I guess I'm defensive of women who want to set their own terms of engagement; as long as it is consentual, it's all good. Which is why I think "to each his/her own" gets mentioned very frequently in WIITWD.. M

I agree that it sounds unusual. Perhaps you should ask the person who wrote it. If you hear back from her, let us know. [:)]

Tristan -> RE: Male Inferiority (5/22/2005 1:35:52 PM)

Gender superiority = gender inferiority complex. The only reason I can think of promoting ones gender above another is because you already have a feeling of inferiority. Why else else would you make statements like that unless you were not completely confident in yourself?

Oh I can't wait to see the Gorean's response to this one!

darkinshadows -> RE: Male Inferiority (5/22/2005 2:22:55 PM)

Maybe in 'respectable company' some Males supremists don't wish to utter such thoughts in front of their peers - but as a submissive and a woman, I have definiately heard lots on 'my inferior species' by so called knowledgeable gentleman(notice my politeness?...lol)

As for Gorean Men - I really wouldn't call that inferiority thoughts about women, not in my experience. People who live Gorean Ls (not just online) are very proud of their slaves and indeed treat them as worth and as expensive property.

Peace and Love

Yes Angel you are polite in saying it; I don't even believe Faramir himself hasn't heard of male supremacy; I think he's simply shocked that a girl dare say she's superior to what is considered normal (don't need to say it since we all know it [sm=tongue.gif]) state of superiority of people with penises, lol.. M

BTF, If I read that correctly, you just called me a liar, or at least disingenuous. This is the internet - you can be as loutish as you want, but I don't really see any profit in it.

I genuinely see a difference here in how D/s is framed between gender lines - even if secretly Doms feel women are inferior and don't say it in polite company, that's still a big difference - "male inferiority" seems to be something that a chunk of D/s people feel very comfortable in talking about (on both sides - I've heard male subs articulate female superiority).

FangsNfeet -> RE: Male Inferiority (5/22/2005 5:00:15 PM)

Well Faramir I haven't put that much thought into your topic. Mainly because I have never viewed that a race or a gender was meant to serve another. If so many Fem Dom's are out there who belive that men are only suppose to serve women, then how do they feel about women who serve a male dom?

I've meet and spent time with many racist and gender suprimisist and have never been able to grasps there concepts. I see on many male submissive profiles that they bevlieve in female supremacy. If these guys really belive in bowing to every female and ablige there commands then I say "whatever floats the boat"

Sure we can all go back to discuss relgion, strength, hormones, women activism and such but it all boils down that we are all people.

Any how, if there is someone who really belives that I am beneath them because of my age, race, or gender, I dare them prove it by making me do something.

Oh Fangs, lets keep the serious discussion out of this one...
It shouldn't matter at all how I and my man choose (or you and your lady servant) to relate to one another in our relationship as long as it works for us.. M

Don't get sensitive on me saying I'm being "loutish" oooh, just because you started the discussion and I put my thoughts in.
I'm being playful in my delivery, but the state of males and females in the world I'm not joking about. Why would people in the lifestyle think differently? ... More importantly, so what if a lady thinks outside of the norm in this kinky/non-standard lifestyle, what is the big deal to you that she is saying she wants a male slave (not equal at all)?... M

UtahGoddess -> RE: Male Inferiority (5/22/2005 7:09:25 PM)

I am a Female Supremacist. I am not out to convert the world. I do not hate men.

I love men. I think every woman should own at least two! LOL

It matters not an iota to me whether or not you agree with my philosophy. It only matters that those involved in a relationship with me agree and accept my beliefs.

SweetDommes -> RE: Male Inferiority (5/22/2005 8:09:44 PM)

I am a firm believer in that, while there may be superior specimens, there is no group that is superior to another, whether that group be males, females, a specific race, a specific religion, a specific geographical region ...

I work in a jail now ... and there are just as many sorry excuses for women in there as there are men. Outside of the jail, I have spoken to just as many twits with tits as dumbasses with dicks. For every superior specimen of any group, there are at least as many pathetic excuses for humans in that same group.

I'll let you in on a secret. You know how an insecure guy might walk around with a swagger, full of false bravado and all attitude? Many dommes and Doms are the same. Over compensation for a lack of power and/or control over their own lives. No doubt this will piss some people off, but then reality often does that. :)
