Are Black Americans Concerned at all about Illegals?

Status: offline 		I was driving by a school construction (a major repair job) project today. This is a government project which means among other things a higher scale. It dawned on me that just about everyone I saw was Hispanic, in fact there were no African Americans at all and I thought, in this city, with the political clout of the Black community here, how can a schools project's contractor not be hiring African Americans?

Well you see....

Black people haven't had our official black peoples summit where we decide our official stance on illegal immigrants and then have Reverend Jesse Jackson deliver our official edict.  Once we do, we'll be make sure to let you know.

Sorry thats me being silly. 

But at least up here there never seemed to be any great push to hire black people to work on construction jobs, before it the hiring of illegal immigrants it was pretty much whites working construction.  Not to mention most blacks vote democrat and the democrats are pretty much lax on any sort of restrictions on illegal immigrants which I think puts the "official" black community in a weird sort of place. 

Personally I say, lets just put a big fucking wall up with tons of restrictions to illegals and tons of support (educational, etc) for legal Americans who are trying to learn English as a second language and settle into America.

Oh..there were a few white guys, in fact the traffic guy was white... but no black men in a city that's population is 60%+ African American.  And I find it had to believe that the only people that would be willing to work on a government, union scale, schools repair project would be Hispanic.

Why do you doubt it? I live in a Big Union, very Blue, Democrat State.

i have no problems with tte mexicans doing any type of work here . they take nt=othng from anyone, this is a loaded question years    ago this was being said about blacks. many including my father were in race riots to have the same pay as the whiites i see history repeatig it self . one thing more they are the hadest workers and will give if you needed anything. they want to learn english i think it is wrong to lock them  out and why. we as black people know that feeling and stilll know that feeling of hate that still is around . so no i have no problem with them at all

I have seen simmilliar  construction projects.  My brother made the comment when he was looking to buy in Vegas that he could forget about working construction, as the workers you seen were not union.  his point was with the cheap labor any litgitamate company would be underbid.

oh BTW the OP, seen it WITH HIS OWN EYES.

being that blacks were FORCED as slaves and  kidnapped from Africa; and toiled in cotton fields- and were whipped and sold like property. being that backs were 3/5 of vote. if i were black- ild say- hey look- I paid my dues! get to the back of the line for your piece of pie.

ALSO- in the 80s- the govt was repaving the Dan Ryan expressway. this freeway cuts thru many black neighborhoods. the black leadership insisted on minority owned businesses getting a fair share of the pie. not just the grunt worker.  they had even threated to clog that freeway- to en masse drive 5 mph- to purposely make the point- that hey- you driving thru OUR neighborhood.
the proposed 'compromise" was window dressing.....

someone back me up on this pls...

Did you go and check out their papers to verify that they were in fact legal workers and citizens etc?  No you probably would have mentioned that if you had.  So we are left with the question ...what is the purpose of your post? 
You imply that there is some sort of inequity here but fail to state exactly what it is?  Is this some sort of race baiting?  You are a little long on innuendo and short on any actual fact.
If my assessment is incorrect then please disabuse me of my ignorance.

does it really affect and effect us as a community?

the only way a construction project would effect us if the company wasn't minority and/or black owned/operated.
