Hi George, Please forgive Me if I come off as a know it all, but I was a Pro Domme for years who specialized in enemas. This entire thread strikes terror in My heart for you and the other posters... OMG! Enemas are one of the most dangerous activities if you do not know what you are doing! I'll take each "red flag" in turn: Temperature: An enema is capable of QUICKLY and dangerously changing your core body temperature. A cold enema can cause delicious cramping, but be prepared to do a secondary lukewarm enema once you are finished to restore body temp. Make sure to be in a warm room, with blankets and warm drinks (coffee, hot cocoa, hot tea) where you can receive/give yourself proper aftercare. A hot enema will give you symptoms of a fever. A Hot enema is NEVER a good idea. There are beneficial bacteria that cannot handle higher temperatures. There are also very sensitive tissues in your colon that will be damaged if you get the solution too hot. You do NOT want to compromise your lower digestive tract. Alcohol, coffee and other additives: Additives can be safely used if you follow certain precautions. First remember the rule of three - any ingredient introduced through an enema will hit three times faster and three times stronger than if you had ingested it orally. Think about that... one cup of coffee orally will feel like three cups anally. This is because there are no digestive processes involved. The substance is absorbed directly into the bloodstream. NEVER use hard alcohol. Beer causes intoxication AND cramping (remember all those little bubbles?). Wine causes a sense of contentment and well being. Please remember that your chances of unsafe blood alcohol levels is higher if you disregard this warning. Salt: ALWAYS always always add 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. of salt to an enema. You would think that putting liquid up yer backside would cause you to retain too much water. WRONG. You can actually confuse the colon (remember it's in charge of determining the consistency of your bowel movements) and trigger dehydration superfast if you do not add the salt. The salt makes your body want to retain water and this is a good thing with enema play. There are many many SAFE pain recipes that I would be happy to share if you wish.
