I really enjoy my time here on Collarme. I appreciate the efforts of all who make this site possible. It's reliable, it's here at my disposal whenever I get the urge. And best of all....it's completely free. I know there are a lot of others here who spend a good deal of their free time here, so I assume they enjoy it too.

So why then when the Mgmt of Collarme makes a request and asks us all to follow it, do some folks find that such a difficult thing to do? Isn't that kind of like telling them you don't really give a shit about their efforts, their policies or their wishes?

I know that most people here try hard to stay within the guidelines...and I will admit, some days that is pretty hard to do. But it seems like when a certain known troll pops in an awful lot of folks here lose their self control. That troll really wouldn't come here if they weren't getting a response. It's kind of like when you were a little kid and your big brother was picking on you. You went to your Mom and her advice was to ignore him and he would quit. Ignore Jessyka and it will quit.

Erin,
Thanks so much for your post. For the main part i have a great deal of respect for the site as well as Mod 11.  She has an extremely difficult job.  She tries to enforce the rules.  Sorry if i still do not believe that they have been given authorization to use the art you use in your avatar and others and this is something i will pursue.  They do not understand the severity of this and i have continually tried to talk to them.  Respect goes in both ways.

*shrug*
I simply don't know. I made one error in judgement and got called up by MODXI. There wasn't rudeness involved, it got resolved then dropped into the abyss to never be seen again. I've moderated and owned sizable chat rooms and channels, truly the Mods here have a huge job and they do a good job. Heh can ya imagine the stuff they just bite their tongues on?
But yeah I wish the awareness level of not responding to some things would rise.
Wow I hope that made sense. I'm soooo tired but cant sleep so I feel a bit loopy.

Plus I have this freaky thing for following orders n directions from major authority hehehehehehe. Gee dunno why.

But every board needs its target and occasional burst of aggression to work out.   There wasn't any actual aggression against the management.

Sorry to hear that, hon. Exhausted insomnia can be like torture, I think.

I don't have the answer to your question Erin. I guess it's just too tempting an entertainment to pass up maybe for some. S/he comes here under his/her new IDs ever so often and stirs everyone up and gets exactly what s/he's after, which is attention, before being removed yet again. It really is so simple....if the troll is fully ignored, they eventually move on to greener pastures because they aren't getting what they want here.

I'm so happy to see that you are able to let things go so easily.

IMO.. not respecting the request to not respond to the it-thing is also to disrespect the source of the request?
Gah does that come close to making sense?

It will be eventually. Powers that be have to be aware of it first.

The trollish one reminds me of the MASH episode with 5 O'clock Charlie...can't help but place bets on how far she'll be off the mark this time.

And, while I can understand your point...really, it's Friday, I've had a long week...a little entertainment was just what the Dr ordered.

I was one of the people that replied to the post in question and the main reason I did it was because it got my mind off of things that are going wrong in my life and helped me get some aggression out and it let me be a b*tch to them. That might be wrong but it was an outlet for me.

No LA, I know. Aggression is much too strong a word. But I do feel it's disrespectful to go against their wishes. This site is their "home". They pour their time and effort into it. I wouldn't go into someone's home and blatantly do exactly what they asked me politely not to do.

Perhaps if all of the people who responded to the thread were under some sort of "collar of protection" their protector might have been able to deter them from the urge to post....They are all so feeble and weak.

I don't think they are thinking about being disrespectful when they ignore the request to ignore the troll, just not thinking about it in the fun they are having baiting and playing with that particular troll.

Erin that is all good but would you  blatantly steal something that isn't yours?

They are also not thinking about the agenda that troll has or that every time they post to it they are helping that troll do exactly what it came here to do. The troll was right when it said "puppets".

I think Erin would, she has that whole "klepto" vibe about her.
