ORIGINAL: JohnSteed1967 Dear BB, Oh God Yes, I know exactly what your dealing with. I am living alone for the first time in my life, no wife, no parents, no kids. Zaxby's (Chicken) Shane's Rib Shack, and The Local Chinese place have become my fast friends. I know how to cook, I was taught by my now 100 year old grandmom, but she taught me how to cook for a small army. She was taught to cook for a family of seven and five farm hands. So cooking for one is almost unheard of in my family. I imagine that you have your own home, so you've got the biggest hurdle out of the way. My suggestion is this. Sit down write a list of goals that you want to accomplish by your next birthday, or someother signicant date but make sure its atleast a year or so away. so you can do them all. put it on the fridge. I wrote my list and have most of it done, I still have lots more to do but, if you have these goal lists this gives you something to do and a sense of accomplishment after you've done them. Your used to having someone, and the issue is you like I have never ever had to foucs on yourself and so because now you have to foucs on you. Its scary. You hit the nail on the head. Are you sure you didn't grow up in my family? Small army sounds very familiar. I have never cooked for less than 5 people. My daughter and I always had major leftovers. I too know how to cook and can hold my own with the best of them. I work in a grouphome so I cook at work too. GEEZE I need to stop cooking. I do have a goal list, I started it last year. I am half way thru it. One of my goals was to go to a BDSM conference. I am doing that in August. I have GOOD car, a decent job, some extra money. I just don't have that warm body........I am also working on dropping some poundage and gaining some muscleage and strengthage so that is a long term goal as well as finally getting my degree
