I know you've asked Diane but I'll answer in the interim from my own experiences. Accidents are always a possibility when an enema is not done correctly. I usually request that they abstain from eating anything solid for a 12 hour period prior to an enema cleansing. The amount of liquid used in an enema also makes a great deal of difference in ensuring that accidents don't happen. Those small Fleet enemas are useless in my opinion. The two quart reusable enema bags are far more acceptable. I have a link that I often use when enemas are being discussed that seems to have worked every time in my experiences.
