In my undergrad I did a similar thing about 7 years ago. I did cyberdrag as part of my honours paper on Hypertext|Identity|Postmodernism. I did get treated very differently based on age, gender and sexual orientation. Sherry Turkle's Life on the Screen: Identity in the Age of the Internet has a whole chapter on this.

Hey, congratulations! That must have been very satisfying for you.

And Lady Angelika, thank you for the interesting comments. I guess we do tend to assumptions about individuals based upon their announced gender, age, power orientation etc.
