Okay... my turn to have an input..... I have been with my Master for about 3 1/2 years, but have known him for about 12 years. And in that time I knew that he had slaves and subs that he played with. Even had a couple that lived with him. The difference with us is that not only did he want to collar me, he also wanted to marry me. He wanted me in ALL aspects, both lifestyle related and vanilla related. But... that said... i have been the first sub (was not a slave to him) for a new Dom. It was an exerperience to say the least... not one that i think i would want to do again. There is only so much that one can learn from reading books. i think that my experience would have been different if the 'new Dom' had had a Mentor or at least someone he could have asked questions of, you know??

BUT!!! i have another question to throw into the mix.... What about 'new slaves'?? When we started looking for our third, we asked ourselves... "How important is previous training to us?" There are many out there that ONLY want a sub/slave that someone else has already trained. (btw ~ we decided that formal training was not as important as personal experiences and desire)

I thank everyone who posted a responce here. It has given me more insite as to the way of thinking from the other side of the fence (sub/slaves). Speaking of the other side of the fence I think we just got our next subject.

I am a submissive, not a slave but in my situation where I have limited experience and some of the things I wish to try could turn dangerous (mentally and/or physically) if not right I would want someone with a bit more experience. Maybe not particularly owned a sub/slave before but has played real life and has a grasp for what they are doing. I mean its one thing to type that you put your hands around my neck and choke me until I am blue and my eyes are watery and near the point of blacking out -which is how I happen to like my choking from time to time. Would I let someone who has never even lightly choked anyone do this to me- no way.

All in all it boils down to trust. I am more apt to trust someone who has experience in doing these things I enjoy so. I mean, any guy can clamp my nipples and take them off when I say enough. But to be owned, at this point in my game, I would say I would not go with anyone who has no or limited experience in the aspects I enjoy. Like I said before, He doesn't have had to have owned a sub before, just played with some--or even played with Dommes--enough that they have enough knowledge to safely know what they are doing. After all, I am a sub with no topping qualities in me and I am looking to be taught not to teach.

Just my thoughts and ideas.
