ORIGINAL: LadyHeart While on the subject of first aid, you need a pair of blunt ended scissors for removing tapes and wrap in a hurry, and something to cut rope in an emergency if you need to. If you are going to do rope work, familiarise yourself with the potential hazards. I have recently posted an article on the subject on my journal on my profile. You might find it helpful. Have fun! I have a couple knives that I have placed close just in case I need to get rope or wrapping off in a hurry. Although a first aid kit I am really willing to look into, I don’t want anything to happen (bad anyways). Get some safety shears/garden secateurs for real emergencies. Unlike knives which require planning, skill and a steady target, you can just shove shears between too tight rope and thrashing skin, without risking additional injury. More importantly than flavours of tools, is getting your head into the right space to react to emergencies. Assume your IQ will halve, assume you'll fumble, assume the sub will thrash, assume something else will be going wrong. Reserve some brain cells so your erection doesn't take it all. It's Murphies law, if you have your shit together, problems are trivial.
