G'morning all:

(Fast Reply)

My meat world personality is just as brutally honest and forthright as I am in the forums on CM. Granted, I tend to be more tactful about how I express myself since this medium doesn't allow for tone, inflection, accompanying facial tics, etc. The sarcasm does bleed through. [;)]

I don't post that often so most folks here wouldn't know that I'm a social butterfly. Personable, bubbly, upbeat, vivacious, etc. You can't get a feel for me through my profile as I've pared it down to the bone. I kept the interesting details on for a while after my boyfriend and I decided to move our relationship from f.w.b. to exclusive, but the trolls and spammers simply made it impossible to bear. I figured, if someone really wants to network and get to know me, these pages will give them an indication of the person behind the words.

Then again, who reads this stuff? [:)]

Stay safe, play nice, & share your toys w/ others...

[:D]

I think often that people read things from others here on the boards and get a perception of what they are like and then think that perception is all that they are like.  What I have found in meeting others here is that what I see here is just one aspect of them.  Other aspects of them are only visible in a face to face environment.

For myself, I do not try to be something that I am not on the boards.  However, what you see here is only one aspect of myself.  My playfulness will rarely show itself on the boards because it doesn't comes out in writing.  What you see here is what I am like when using written communication.  I like to think and ask/answer questions; the board gives me the opportunity to do that.  Face to face gives me the opportunity to be playful, witty and just laugh and have a good time.

beth, I have seen your personality misunderstood on here a few times and I have seen you be accused of being somewhat "elitist" in your slavery. Sometimes I think that people have seen you as some sort of untouchable on a pedestal. While I have never actually met you in person we have shared some wonderful telephone conversations and I have to say that I found nothing "elitist" about you. You are a very warm and caring person, down to earth with a fantastic sense of humor. The feeling that I got when talking to you is that you are one of those folks who are so easy to talk to that if seems as if you have known them a long time and could just talk about anything with. When you speak you radiate the joyousness that you feel in your submission and your relationship and I have to say, it's such a pleasure.

I tend to be very vocal here in this forum.  I flirt like crazy and generally enjoy myself.  In reality, though, I'm extremely shy, especially in larger groups.  I'm a little better in one on one situations, but not much.  It takes me a while to warm up even in groups of people that I've known for years.  I think there are certain people that are probably just like they come across here.  I think Merc would be just like Merc.  LA, Level  and MichaelofGeorgia too.  LaM comes across as a cocky motherfucker and he is.  (Hopefully he would know that I mean that as a compliment)  Soooo...is your personality accurately portrayed here or do you live vicariously through your online personna like I do?

My personality is basically the same as my behavior here. The only difference is that I am more shy in person and not at all outwardly outgoing in group situations.

It definately takes me time to warm up to people one-on-one, but once I do, I'm very comfortable with them and can even become outgoing and "aggressive" in a flirtatious type of manner etc.

Dealing specifically with dominant males in person (or even on the phone) is a different story.  I am usually beyond nervous and sometimes it can be more/ less severe depending on the male.

cuddleheart50 -> RE: Online Personalities vs. Real Life (6/17/2007 8:32:05 AM)

I'm pretty much the same in person as I am here.

eyesopened -> RE: Online Personalities vs. Real Life (6/17/2007 8:34:58 AM)

In person i start out shy and reserved until i get to know someone and then i am pretty much an off the wall outgoing and fun-loving.  i have learned to be reserved and quiet here on the message boards.  As much as i know i shouldn't care i do feel badly when flamed so i post but i no longer expect to really be seen or heard.

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: Online Personalities vs. Real Life (6/17/2007 8:41:24 AM)

what you read here (opinionated, loud, spoiled, stubborn, nice, party gal, etc) is what you get in the real world

aggressiveblkdom -> RE: Online Personalities vs. Real Life (6/17/2007 8:43:45 AM)

I feel that I'm the same online as I am offline. Oh I definitely do my best to portray my natural self-confidence on here but because this isnt R/L people can't note my body language and the actual tone I am trying to use so they might look at it as being conceited. But do I care what they think? Just like in R/L.....HELL NO!!!!

as the old addage goes: "what you see, is what you get". that is true about me as well.

<WARNING: The person online may be brattier than they appear>

LOL

angelic -> RE: Online Personalities vs. Real Life (6/17/2007 8:51:24 AM)

i am pretty much the same smart ass in real life that i am here.  Interestingly, i am much more vocal in real life than i am here.  Not sure why that is, tho.

Level -> RE: Online Personalities vs. Real Life (6/17/2007 8:53:02 AM)

I'm much gassier in person than online.

imthatacheyouhav -> RE: Online Personalities vs. Real Life (6/17/2007 8:56:06 AM)

Great topic Aileen [:)]

While i am not out to be deceptive, i think i am a bit different depending on if i am around people i know or a new situation. i am like you,  i am shy ( or maybe a better word is self-concious) and have difficulty initiating conversation, i suck at flirting, and have been told even as recently as last night - intimidating...

When, i am posting on a serious thread, that is pretty much a true picture of myself. When i am on the off-topic and fun threads - thats me too, but few people in real life see that side~

Ofcourse, my friends know once i get talking....i can talk your ass off[:)] Hmmm, maybe i can use this technique as a weight loss counselor in the future!

KatyLied -> RE: Online Personalities vs. Real Life (6/17/2007 9:15:40 AM)

I am more reserved and quiet in real life.

juliaoceania -> RE: Online Personalities vs. Real Life (6/17/2007 9:18:09 AM)

I dunno... I am opinionated, I have a penchant for sticking up for people without the strength to do it for themselves (kids and old people). I love to watch people, and watching them on here is a great source of amusement for me mostly

I love to laugh, and I do not know if anyone can tell that from a forum... but it is true....

It is hard for me to judge whether my Daddy is perceived the same way by others as I perceive him here. I think he does come across the way he really is... which is extremely intelligent, totally hilarious, kinda goofy, and just a smidgeon of cockiness. He is also one of the kindest men I have ever known....

Recently someone called him an "idiot" on another forum of CM... what I found amusing about this was that this person probably has half the thinking capacity of my Daddy, and is so full of himself that you would think the sun did not shine as long as he was awake... but I maybe misjudging this poster too, and I think we misjudge each other on here, just like people misjudge each other in "the real world"

GeekyGirl -> RE: Online Personalities vs. Real Life (6/17/2007 9:20:13 AM)

I'm the same person here that I am anywhere...but due to lack of body language and vocal indications, I am more often misunderstood when I right in Text. People take me the wrong way a lot...I tend to be very blunt with my words and cushion them with inflection and body language and that doesn't come across via this medium. So some people might say I'm a bigger bitch here than in real life, but it's entirely perception IMO.

Other than that, I'm the same...I'm wordy and talkative here and in real life. I'm blunt and honest both places. I am probably a tad more social online, because I rarely leave my home in the real world to go socialize.
