Donald Trump has always said that there several other real estate millionaire who can't "close the deal" (his term) with the models he goes for. Even for women to whom money is most important, personality and other things do count as well.

Howard's deal was actually $500M to go to Sirius, btw.

This is going to sound reallllllllllllll cynical...but I notice that personality and other things count for more when there is extra sugar added to them.

I have no doubt that there's a financial incentive for someone to stay with Howard Stern, but she's hung in there for many years and I am sure he's got an iron clad pre-nup.  She's a model and could probably land any number of monied men without the challenging personality and insecurities that he has.   People also have to realize that Howard Stern doesn't live that glamorous of a hollywood lifestyle (ie parties, premieres, hobnobbing with the rich and famous out on the town, out "being scene", being glamorous); he goes to bed by 8pm and is miserable in most public high profile situations.  He may be loaded, but however he's spending his money, it isn't on living in the fast lane; she could be with a lot hotter guys who aren't as high maintenance instead of going to bed at 8.

Oh, I'm sure there's a prenup as big AND as ironclad as the Titanic (maybe that's a bad example?).  Anyway, prenups are subject to the terms those who sign them agree on.  Even if he provides for her with a "measly" $50 million....that's STILL $50 million!  I'd be pleasing him real good, lol.

True story here......a former co-worker had a long-time boyfriend who had suffered a traumatic brain injury from blatant negligence of a well-known corporation.  There was a lawsuit pending and they expected a settlement of $4-6 million.  She hung in there, took care of him, his bills, his affairs, through thick and thin.  I think she would have cleaned his toilet with her tongue to show her undying devotion.  They were together at least five years.  Finally the settlement came...only $2 million.  And, a big part of it went into trust for his children, his ex-wife got some, a lot went to settle medical bills.  She expected to be made guardian of what was left, but his father was given that responsibility.

They began "having problems" and she found a new boyfriend....who happened to be married to his sister.

Maybe I'm jaded, but she could be in "Howard-pleasing" mode just long enough to ensure her legal rights to half of the fortune he makes....[8|]

Not really.  They have been together for 7 years.  That's an awfully long time to be in a "mode".
There is true love there.  Supposedly off the air he is an amazing guy.  He has lots of issues (as do we all) and he is willing do examine them and modify his behavior for Beth.
There were things that Dr Keith brought out in both of them and examined and they were both very positive and open about the whole process.
I didn't hear the whole thing yet but it's on On Demand and hopefully I'll hear the rest this week.
For you guys who are Howard bashers, I think you should spend some time listening to the show before you judge.

Private Parts is perhaps the funniest book I've ever read.

windchymes -> RE: Beth O's (howard stern's fiance) submissiveness (6/18/2007 4:54:44 PM)

I've listened to Howard off and on since about 1991.  My ex-husband idolized him, so I listened to him a LOT during those years, lol.  I've seen the tv show many times.  Loved the movie.  And I even met Crackhead Bob (or whatever his name was) on one of the NJ boardwalks about 10 years ago.  I'm pretty sure he doesn't remember it, though.

Howard's had his wetting-my-pants laughing moments and my shutting off the radio in disgust moments.  I don't bash him at all, at this point, I can pretty much take him or leave him.  I do, however, think he's a talented radio personality and a brilliant businessman and I admire him for staying on top or near the top for as many years as he has.  He's just not my personal cup of tea for what I like to listen to.

Sooooo, I'm not bashing him at all.  I'm not even bashing Beth O.  Just presenting another point of view. [:)]

And a good job of it. [;)] I haven't really seen (or heard) this Beth O person, so I'm limited in what I can say. If her and Howard are in love, more power to them!

BINGO!
Yes howard Stern is one of us friends. Read his book, and see what he says is his favorite movie... it is a BDSM movie! However, he is the perfect totally perfect example that money does not make a person happy.

Edited to include, but it can help a lot.

The term I use is...

Money cannot buy happiness but it makes being miserable a lot more comfortable.

Rumtiger -> RE: Beth O's (howard stern's fiance) submissiveness (6/20/2007 3:11:55 AM)

ahem...

WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME A STERN THREAD WAS CREATED!!!?

Yes Howard is a definite dom, and Beth has all the classical attributes of a super submissive, they just havent really immersed themselves in the lifestyle. Howard's past acts included bound spanking as well as bound tickling (which he enjoyed most, anybody else remember Yaki?). Currently his main bit when hot girls come into the studio to get naked is to persuade them to get on the sybian for him. In personal life he admits to enjoying typing a woman spread eagle on a bed and then leaving her there for a good while.

Whether this is real or Howard just giving some quality talk for a laugh or two is unknown (I may just call in to try to ask him after I finish this post, wish me luck). Beth has repeaditly said that the relationship is always about Howard, and she is happy with that. His needs, his wants, his desires ect all come before hers, she will even conform or repress herself to mold herself into his dream girl, such as the children debate for those of us who heard the Dr. Ablow episode. A staunch "no" turns into a squeaky "maybe" once one digs deep enough.

P.S. For anyone listening live right now like I am, Cabbies a fucktard.
