Not to mention that working with criminals DOES make you paranoid....once you see how nice and normal some of them are, it makes you look at EVERYone a little differently. It has nothing to do with being a good judge of character....some of the people with the "best characters" have the longest rap sheets...they might be genuinely sweet and good hearted people but that doesn't keep them from having a record a mile long full of non-violent felonies. Just to illustrate my point: There was a female inmate that I was very fond of (by that I mean, she always volunteered to be on my clean up crew, serve meal trays, very polite, respectful, etc.) This person was humourous, charming, and genuinely seemed like one of the nicest folks you'd ever meet....Many officers considered her their favorite inmate. Imagine our suprise when she was convicted and sentenced to death for the starvation/abuse/murder of her young UM. People who think "being a good judge of character" is enough to ferret out the people with a record, well I think they must not know as many criminals as I do. Some of the nicest people I ever met in jail were pedophiles, capital murderers, and high ranking gang members.

Now you can call me unsafe and call all my partners foolish, but I have yet to have anyone object or feal uncomfortable with meeting in a public place with a basic safe call and going our seperate ways at the end without having access to a complete personal profile. Finnally, in my eyes, if someone does not have enough trust in their instincts and intuition to meet someone in such setting that eliminates major risk without having a complete record of the person stored away in their BDSM files, then they simply arent the ideal match for me.

I've been giving this a whole new thought on CBC..... When dealing with "vanilla" relationships, I know I never ran one on someone. And there was 1 I wish I had of. Imagine coming home from work one day....having child protection standing at your door waiting for you. Because the gentleman you have been seeing... went that day to a scheduled mental health appointment (that you are not aware of either)...and he tells his shrink... he's been having sexual thoughts about your daughters. I had to sign a written agreement that the 3 of them would no longer be around each other at all. But before signing it...I agreed to take kids over to a friends house so that I could have a talk with my "Friend". 27 stitches later...in him.... and a trip down to the sheriff's office for me..(no charges were filed)...I signed a restraining order....and haven't seen him since. So it makes you sort of wonder. Because although he had 2 other priors of molestaion with minors.. 1pending..1 found guilty. I never thought to run one. Now as for today..... yes... that is one I will in fact run. Here in NC... when you pull up Sex predators... you get only for the state of NC. But NC also lets you know their local address. And they also will place on there if said offender has moved to what state. So even if you have moved to NC from another state... it being the law you have to register... it's going to be there. This is a check I have ran on players and partners. And I hold no bars back in informing them I will or have done so. And I only do this if I feel the relationship has progressed to the point of my girls and this person are about to meet. As for the rest of a CBC.... If I feel the need to double check what's been told to me... well shit... I just don't trust you...and there's no need to go further with anything.

Call it "cop paranoia". People are not to be trusted.

Before I meet someone I make sure I know their safe word. I make sure that they have their safe calls in place.....I make sure I get references from previous Doms and lovers. I make sure I get a background check as well as a credit report....I make sure they sign a Hippa release form so I can have access to their medical records....I make sure they have a collar of protection in place....I make sure that I have a profile of blood work as well as a toxicology report.....I make sure I possess the most recent copy of their resume. After doing all of this I'm usually to tired to meet and stay home and jerk off.

greetings to all i think a background check is needed in this bdsm lifestlye. there are way to many lose nuts running around. i have talk for two years with this one slave i trust him now and i do not think it was to long to get to know him. the way he say things i watch out for any type of talk about teen in a joking matter is just not for me. that show a hidden side of a person . i remember a man i knew made a statement about brook shields to someone else they may not had pick it up but i did his statement was " she is my little girl i love or adore her " not long after he was arrest for child molextion . it is the litle things they say that can make you see something is wrong . so i do look for words and things said and i listen to all he or they will say to me . how their childhood was is not something they could help if they was abuse it does not mean they will abuse someone. i know this i was abuse and would not ever even think of harming a little one so we all have childenhood that were way off the planet so that is not the most importnat thing for me to look for unless he was mean to animals ok long post but thank for listeniong mons

Most cops are as dirty as the criminals they arrest just the crimes are different. I have watched cops perjure themselves in court as well as just baldfaced lie about evidence as well as the law. Being an expert witness can be a real eye opener at times! I have seen them commit all sorts of felonies. Anyone watch whatever the last poor bastard LAPD beat the shit out of? Anyone know how many cops were pulled off the street when the Brady bill prevented anyone convicted of misdemeanor spousal abuse from carrying a gun? How many serial killers and rapists get caught and had no prior police record? People who commit murder have one of the lower recidivism rates around. Petty crooks have police records, the really dangerous ones often don't. As a cop I can understand checking on someone because they get into trouble for their associations. For the rest of us, if you don't have the skills to spot a con artist or an abuser, perhaps learning better relationship skills would be a better use of time rather than playing CSI without a real clue of what the hell you are doing.

Actually in NC they have 30 days...and NC is real good on keeping their pages updated and informed by other states when one moves here...since they're required by law to inform where they're moving to...to begin with.
