I saw a post about why not your wife. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get someone over the last hurdle? My wife talks about exploring the life style. She has had me purchase or make various items. They all sit in a box. She tells me during the day that she is thinking about it but will never act on it. I have tried a variety of things but which she get very excited about but will never initiate them latter. We are both new to this so I thought any different approach or idea might be all it takes.

Don't know about access in Ohio, but I'd suggest getting out in the community. If not in Ohio, consider a trip to a lifestyle convention someplace. Conventions happen fairly regularly. You don't have to pick a huge national one like Folsom but I'm sure there is some regional one nearby. I recall hearing that there is an annual meeting in St.Louis. Going to something like this will give you an opportunity to meet and talk with other lifestyle active individuals and couples.

One of the biggest hurdles for anyone looking to have a lifestyle relationship is the feeling that you are "weird". Getting out and seeing that you are not unique and your desires are not weird, may be the ice-breaker you need. If you do it outside your local area you won't have the apprehension of seeing the PTA president sitting in a booth while walking to the back room of a munch meeting held at Denny's. Of course you are just as likely to see that same PTA president walking around Folsom at the end of a leash.

Read www.akashaweb.com (the most normal feeling, least intimidating site I read when I was beginning), buy "the mistress manual", a book by Lorelei, has no nonsense advice for scary moments to help with the "am I a freak" questions...

i think that some hands on play time might help. Here in SoCal there are lots of dungeons and Mistresses. Perhaps schedule some time with a pro-Domme in a dungeon setting. Have some fun play-time and get a Dommes perspective on how to bring the FemDomme lifestyle to life in your home....

Perhaps you can sit down together and go through the items in her box and have her talk about how she will use them on you. She might be inspired to try them on you when she sees your reaction to them.

I have found that this is a great site for women who are thinking of being Dominant, but may hesitate because they feel uncomfortable.

Also, it may help to talk to talk about why she says she will play but then doesn't. Is she scared? Nervous? Feeling guilty cause she's turned on? Don't point a finger, or make her feel bad. Just be supportive and underrstanding.
