the second the subject came up with horcruxes, I had thought that Harry was one.   **bad images!!! I really did not need to see a Harry/twins sandwich in my head**  I agree that Hermione would make a great dominatrix.  thinking of starting a Room of Requirement thread, Party central, no discussion about the books allowed. just having fun, playing, charms,(I love the evercunnilingus charm!) and curses flying around.  What do ya think?

I am not a big slash fan, I mostly go for SS/HG with a side of Hermione/Charlie and/or Bill, or if I can find it an Hermione/Shacklebolt, but there is a Snarry out there, called "Snape: The Home Fries Nazi", that I adore.

Edit to add:
For those of you who like adult themed Potter fiction of high quality, I can recommend The Restricted Section.

Have a look at their discussion board "Buckbeak is a great, ugly brute", too.

I almost wonder if since Lily was nice to Snape, if he had some sorta 'crush' on her and he almost resented James for 'stealing' her away before he could 'make his move' on her, that translated into more hatred towards James and thus to Harry.

From what others have said and from rereading the books, that looks like a plausable theory and idea. Kinda a wizard love triangle of sorts, with Lily being the focus of James and Snape.

Harry COULD be a horcrux, not one that Voldmort had intended on. Much like when you spread a cold to someone, you may know you have a cold, then you drink something and somone comes and drinks after you, not knowing that you have all those cold germs floating around, then by drinking after you, THEY get your cold. Same kinda idea with Harry and Voldmort.

Harry being an animagus that could be cool. In book 4, he sees through that serpant, so I don't see why he can't do that; after all, he was able to conjure the Patronus, where most full grown Wizards are not able to do so. Harry is stronger than he looks, not only mentally, but as a wizard as well.

Okay, I just saw what Wikipedia had to say about Terry Pratchett and all I can say for the moment is... Hmmmm.....

I might take a chance and order the first discworld book from Amazon.

Fargle's list is good, but i'd start with 'Small Gods'......a stand alone book set in the Discworld.

As for Harry Potter; I'm neither a big fan, nor a dismisser of Rowling's work, but I do know one  thing: I think it's wonderful that something has people young and old excited about reading.

Small Gods is a masterpiece, no doubt. But once Guards, Guards! is read, it's inevitable that Men at Arms will be picked up next.

No offense but never could get into Pratchett, tried quite a few times.  Discworld? I thought that series was by Larry Niven? hehe

Not always, in the Wheel of Time books the mentor lives on in another dimension which she is rumored to return again one day

I’ve never read the Wheel of Time books, but I’ll take your word for it. Still, in these kind of stories the mentor has to be taken out of the picture one way or another – so the hero can stand alone. I just realized, though, that citing Star Wars was a bad example sine they violated this "rule" by having Obi-wan come back in spirit form and telling Luke what to do at the last minute.

God, I hope not! Still, it would be kind of funny – Voldermort reduced to pumping gas for a living.

I too hope (after a well deserved break) that J.K. bedazzles us with something completely new – although she has set herself a very high standard to live up too. I know that she doesn’t plan any prequels but I can always hope she changes her mind. I, for one, would love to see a book about Dumbledore’s early years. What was he like when he was a student at Hogwarts?

Gives me a pause.

Are you sure about that? Maybe you’ve got a misprint? You just sent me flipping through the page of book six, thinking I might have missed an important clue, but my edition says green light. Hell, if you do have an edition with a mistake in it – it might become a collectors item.

Give her a decade or two... Lucas didn't NEED to go back and screw everything up. He chose to. More evidence that People are fucked up in the head.

Many artists will tell you that a work of art is never truly finished – you just stop working on it at some point. Many of these same artists say that once you stop working on a work of art, you must NEVER start working on it again because you will destroy the integrity of the work that people have come to know and love despite (of even because of) it’s flaws. Lucas violated that rule and the results are plain for all to see. Until we see evidence of such from J.K., let’s give her the benefit of the doubt.

I say go for it! Only it’s the evercunnilingus potion. Difficult and time consuming to brew – but well worth the effort. I’m still working on the neverendinghead potion.

I think Harry, at one point, will become an animagus. A stag seems most likely but a lion gets my vote.

Sounds like a challenge to me. Okay then, I’ve just been over to Amazon and ordered "Guards, Gaurds!" Please don’t be mad at me philosophy, we can still be friends.

Well, I don't have time to read everyone's responses, I will throw in some of my own opinions.

To be honest, I don't think that we have seen the last of Dumbledore. Yes, he is dead, but I believe that he will live on in some way. Only because there was so much that he didn't tell Harry. There was a reason that he froze Harry from leaving. He knew what was going to happen, whether Snape is good or evil. I for one believe he is evil. He played his part good, but Dumbledore was always right. While he has admitted to making mistakes, for the most part, anything major going on and he's right in some way. A man can't always be right. That's my theory on Dumbledore.

It is not said that Harry will survive this book. Could he possibly die? Could it be Nevelle who kills bad old LV? Who knows. I think Harry and Ginny will end up together. I just finished rereading book 6.... Both Ron and Hermoine said that nothing Harry could say would stop them, that they would be there until the end with Harry. What's to stop Ginny from doing the same. I think though, I admire Ginny, not for understand, but not putting up a fight, thus far anyways.

One question I have is will, if he does survive, Harry become an Auror? Yes it is what he wants to do, but will he really wory for a Ministry he so despises?

Just my thoughts and ideas.

And for the whole red light green light thing.... My edition (I just went and checked) says green light. Another clue that he is really dead, is that his picture is in his office, along with the other deceased headmasters and mistresses. He was not simply just sleeping. I have come to realize though hard me, (I cried through the last chapters both times I have read this book) that Dumbledore as a human being is gone. But like I said, there is so much that He didn't tell Harry, I think in some way we will see him back.

Maybe by way of a letter he started writing to Harry. We never did find out how his hand really got injured. Though my theory, something that struck me the other night, was that maybe it was the Horacrux.... If i remember right (and I may be wrong) Dumbledore was wearing the LV's ring on his injured hand. Why wear such an important ring on such a damaged hand? Unless of course it was the cause of the damage.

O and one more thing.... Rowling herself, has said that Harry will NOT become an animagus. You can check out her website.... www.jkrowling.com It has a bunch of rumors that she talks about.

Actually, it will be revealed in book seven that Voldemort's true ambition was to work for the Republican National Committee.

I’ve just finished re-reading the first six books and now I’m counting down the days. I’ve already got a good bottle of wine picked out and have told friends and family that I am not to be bothered on that weekend.

I’m I the only one here who plans to be a recluse when book seven arrives?

I’m also interested in hearing any other’s theories about what will happen in book seven.

For myself, I believe there will come a crucial moment when Harry has to set aside his hatred of Snape and trust Dumbledore’s judgment by trusting Snape. In other words, Snape is still working for the Order even if no one knows or believes it. That his seeming betrayal of Dumbledore was, in fact, part of an already laid out plan – that Dumbledore wasn’t pleading with Snape not to kill him, but in fact to kill him, in order to set certain events into motion.

Whatever the outcome, it will be interesting.

Nope....I will be too.

*SPOILER WARNING-DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU'VE READ ALL 6 HARRY POTTER BOOKS*

OK, I think it's obvious now that Snape is a Death Eater. Although I like your idea Marc. If you haven't already, go buy the books Fantasic Beasts And Where To Find Them and Quidditch Through The Ages by Newt Scamander. All proceeds go to help the Comic Relief Charity in London. They raise money for other charities like The Red Cross and have raised over 250,000,000 since they began in 1985. Also, the fan-written books The Ultimate Unofficial Guide To The Mysteries Of Harry Potter and The Plot Thickens....Harry Potter Investigated By Fans For Fans by WWP (Wizarding World Press). Wonderful books....they really go in-depth exploring Harry Potter. As I was reading them, I actually have to go back and see what I missed. For example, have you ever noticed how many times J.K Rowling. mentions eyes, ears, noses, and fingers? Or the number 12? Or "long fingers?" Trust me, for all 4 books you'll spend about $60....but it's SO worth it! They mention a lot, like Hermione's almost always right, except when she gets emotional. Or that Ron's almost always wrong, except when he makes a joke about it. I could post pages, but, well....I think you get the idea.

Forgot to mention, you can find all of the above at your local bookstore (especially Barnes And Noble).

So who's already seen all 4 HP movies? Who's going to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phonenix? I own all 4 and I'm waiting for HP and the OotP to come out on DVD. It looks awesome-I saw the trailer.

Ohh I am sure there are a few stories about just that in the slash sites. (slash is fanfiction of a very sexual, perverted nature.) I used to have a few bookmarks of slash sites that had HP stories, don't know where it is!

Dunno about slash stories, but you can find slash pics at http://www.mugglenet.com Just type in 'Harry Potter slash fanfiction'. (Slash is also usually involving guy on guy, or girl on girl.) Cassandra Claire had some awesome HP fanfics out for a while...anyone read any recently? They were long too....like 40 chapters each. I'm hoping Draco will pop up more....he is my favorite character. I'm a Slytherin at heart-the girl who got to play Pansy Parkinson was so lucky. I heard that:

1. Jason Issacs (Lucius Malfoy) asked them to give him long hair so you could tell him from Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy).

2. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) does all his own stunts.

3. Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) isn't doing the last two movies because she's tired of being known as 'that girl from Harry Potter'.

Anyone else hear these confirmed? Denied?

OMG. OMG. O. M. G. /Slash/.. is sooo very wonderful. Ive read soo many pairings lately. Ive been wishing to grow a penis for christmas and move to diagon alley for two months now!!!!
-Snape is Good.
-Anyone have theories on RAB?? Regulus Black?

I personally am a big fan of evil dumbledore...but... JK just wouldnt do that to us
Although, theres a story i read.. DD didnt crush the Philosopher's stone, and Voldemort killed his wife..which is the only reason why he wanted to go after him
Speaking of Voldie... Did anyone else catch this?
Tom and Harry Are both nearly identical to their fathers in looks. (minus harry's eyes)
Both half bloods. Both left in similar situations growing up. Personally, this one adds to my dumbledore is evil theory. DD is an accomplished Leglimens, he can get into the mind of nearly ANYONE. .. including tom riddle at a young age. And Harry. so... why didnt he step in.. when he figured out what was going on instead of turning a blind eye.
Anyone a fan of the Lily/Snape friends/lovers thing??
Meh.. who knows... We should hold a midnight BDSM only party in the Room of Requirement... OMG!! Party Idea!!! Woooot!!!
Time to plan!!!! Anyone have ideas??? I'm throwin a party!!!

I wouldn't count on JK doing or not doing anything. Everytime I think I have her figured out, she throws me for a new loop. RAB....well part of Dumbledore's name is Albus Brian. Rufus blank blank Scrimogor? Blank Albus Brian? I don't think it would be Regulus Black....that's too obvious. I know JK said that Voldemort and the Death Eaters parallel Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Anyone who wants to HP chat message me on Yahoo-demonofthenight18.

As for Voldemort....love him, but he needs serious therapy.  Perhaps a nice long trip to the mall, some ice cream and a massage. Then again-maybe he just needs to get laid. 15 years in hiding, you know he was jacking off all that time. *Looks worried* Watch out Wormtail....you may be 'servicing' your master in more ways than one! LOL
