No, I don't think forgetting is the same thing as disobeying.  But how in the world can you "forget" several days in a row to take a medicine that you know you have to take daily?  That doesn't sound like "forgetting" to me.

Believe me, one can forget their pills !!  I have even retaken them on occasion, not realising I DID take them.

Sir balances forgetting with disobedience and weighs out what He percieves the motives are, clarifies and then decides whether discipline is warranted.

Hell I am fukin old....my best memory is my forgetter.  He knows that !!

I have not read this whole thread so excuse me if I am repeating someone:..I have two things to say. First off, If one is able to get up and remember to go to work in AM, beacuse they know to forget would result in being fired, and if one is an adult who has and knows that meds need to be taken for life and has done so before being in D/s dynamic..then why is it forgotten now?.Second off, if you have anything you do in day to day life that is routine then why not in this area.? I am sorry, but it leads me to believe that you relish the attention that it may engender, the attention paid to it by your Master, and thus the attention paid to you.You get off on the ,IMO, control that you have in this area of your life. The words "I forgot"is still a means of controlling the action or inaction. Sure we all can forget now and then on something, but consistently?..nope..especially when it comes to something that should be of a routine and thus almost blindly done..I do not accept the excuse,in your case of "I forgot" not even in the instances of when it comes to mental health issues. You are a functioning adult who as far as I know, remembers to brush your hair, or to go to work..then you can remember this as well....Tempting

i used to have a huge amount of problems forgetting medications...they were, like in this senario, important, but not really crucial to continuation of life systems.  now that i'm in a health situation where the medicines i take can in fact impact my living or dying it's not nearly so hard to remember them.  i've implemented several different measures to remind me to take them, especially since my disease tends to cause memory problems.  i think the key here is realizing that even though you'll still be alive tomorrow if you forget your meds today, your life will be impacted negatively and living a life that is not the best you have the power to make it, is not living at all.  do everything you can to remember...ask your dr. for some ideas on how to do this, maybe he/she will okay taking your meds at a different time of day if this will help you.  that helped me alot.  mornings are always different for me.  sometimes i'm out the door at 5am, sometimes i'm not awake until 10am if i was out on a call late the night before.  bedtime can be that way too, so sometimes i've had to just carry meds with me, in my purse or my car so that no matter where i am at bedtime, or whenever i have to take that med, it's near to hand.

Thank you for stating what is obvious to some of us.[sm=applause.gif][sm=applause.gif]
Do these same people "forget" to eat?  Do they "forget" to bathe?
Do they "forget" to put yellow stickies up to remind them, as I do at home and at work?

{{{{Tempting}}} thank you for carefully explaining EXACTLY how I feel on this one.
Unless you have some real extenuating situation, I have a problem with the "forgetting" for several days part.
Thank you.
Also, if we all have to take one view on subjects, why be here?
If some of us feel it is disobedient, so be it.

My husband isn't my slave but he is a largely submissive bottom to me.  He's also ADD. Quite. The very nature of that problem makes one prone to forgetting, and for doing routines and preparations in inappropriate order. Helping him be in a *position* to obey me and serve me, means helping to create and maintain systems for him and with him. It's a stretch for me - I am not an organized person - but when things are forgotten it makes me think I need to tweak and refine my management system for this particular person as much if not more than he needs to sit up and obey. I find that non-willful disobedience is often an indicator of *me* not quite getting something right, or not conveying the information needed.

Great post Grlwithboy.
What I love this place, is how so many JUMP to conclusions.
Even though I said I would "punish" my submissive, did I say I would be harsh, mean or cruel?
Punishment, might mean writing "I will take my medicine every day 100 times and having the submissive

help develop a system that will assist them in remembering!".
On another note, I don't ever expect for most people to stop being narrow minded.
Peace
