RCdc -> RE: Professional Wrestler Chris Benoit Dead (6/26/2007 3:16:39 AM)

A real tragedy, a Benoit was a great wrestler, and by all accounts a decent human being. I remember when he first came to the WWF (as it was then) as the 'rabid wolverine' (IIRC) - even then he seemed something special, and his last few years have seen him progress to become one of the better WWE (as it is now [;)]) wrestlers. As for wrestling books, and 'getting it', I'd also recommend Mick Foley's 'Have a Nice Day', and also the two follow ups, 'Foley Is Good' and the recent 'Hardcore Diaries' which are a fascinating insight (warts and all) into the backroom machinations and politics of the wrestling business, which comes out surprisingly well (though, maybe not that surprising being as Vince McMahon still pays a good portion of Foley's paychecks, but even so....) As for The Undertaker - he's sheer class, and my all-time favourite wrestler. I really must pick up that 3 DVD retrospective sometime soon......[:D] Darcy
