Yeah.  It's not like he'd have had to wear his pants halfway down his ass to survive in prison...

I don't know about legally insane, but I can only grasp this as coming out of some extreme psychotic episode, The Shining, kind of shit.

I've been trying to think of a way of phrasing it, Rich, you just nailed it.

I hate to say it and I am not trying to be funny, but I think he must have looked like Jack in The Shining,
from what I am hearing.
Maybe this will stop or warn others about the side effects of some of these powerful medications.
It appears Nancy was filing for divorce and I think Chris was pumped up on whatever the hell he was taking,
and just flipped out.
Some men can't accept or handle a woman leaving them.

sad story indeed

I started a thread the night that I heard...today on yahoo news I found this...I had no idea about this part of the story....it just keeps getting stranger and stranger:

CruelGorean -> RE: Professional Wrestler Chris Benoit Dead (6/27/2007 5:18:41 PM)

I watched ECW last night and apparently vince was sort of pissed off about the fact that they dedicated the 3 hour monday night raw to a murderer. Ive been an avid wrestling fan since I was about 8.  I've seen alot of the greats come and go. I think the WWE seriously needs to start kicking ass and taking names on their guys that have pending criminal records. They already have a ("wellness policy") and I use that term loosely for habitual drug use. So I have to wonder now if they will start making everyone see a headshrinker mandantory that's had problems with domestic violence or a history of violent crime?

TheHeretic -> RE: Professional Wrestler Chris Benoit Dead (6/27/2007 5:44:26 PM)

Wow, Drk, you're right, it keeps getting stranger.  The first report of the deaths I heard was on a local radio station.  They said the family had died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

I didn't watch the tribute (wrestling is something for those nights when I'm physically and mentally exhausted).  Poor Vince.  I think he finally made it back to billionaire after the XFL disaster, and now his business will be under attack all over again.

That just reinforces, in my mind, that something was seriously wrong with Benoit.

hey michael,

local news have stated mon he died, then say sun.....and reports say he was texting chavo and others during the pay per view and earlier through the day...

...and wwe swears he tested clean for steroids on april 10,07 . they initiated a drug testing policy awhile back when edge and orton names were on scripts from some steroid doc in ala....

maybe its a crazed fan?
ya never know

waits for the toxicology reports and rope fibers to be tested.... and exact times of death and text messages........

well, we went to see wrestling the week prior and Benoit was there...didn't seem like anything was amiss...and then there's the multiple reports...like the cops couldn't make up their minds what to do (not without a large supply of coffee and donuts, anyway)

I don't have a link (cause I'm lazy), but the text messages he sent from his and his wife's phones, gaves the physical address of the house repeatedly, and indicated which door was unlocked.  Depression, despair and purpose.  It reminds me of my HS math teacher who cleaned his house spotless and put several layers of plastic sheeting down before killing himself with a shotgun.

I doubt anybody could have known what was happening in his mind.  Madness is quiet and polite sometimes.

fyreredsub -> RE: Professional Wrestler Chris Benoit Dead (6/27/2007 6:24:19 PM)

hey michael,

did you go see the show in dothan?

what i dont get is the text messages clearly stated the dogs were put up yet it was 2 hrs after the wwe called officials to go check before they got in the house because the dogs were loose on the property...????

fyreredsub -> RE: Professional Wrestler Chris Benoit Dead (6/28/2007 4:09:15 PM)

wow !!!it keeps getting weirder by the minute.

first the authorities find out that cb's wiki page was changed before anyone released the info there was deaths... to state there was death of his wife and thats why he didnt go to  the match,

then there was text messages that were sent from his phone ...

yet this was all done after everyone in the house died.

WTF??? gives the crazed fan theory some credibility...........
cause someone else had to have known... to do all this...........

his phone is hands of authorities to see who else was called or texted and when..........

cause dead men dont tell tales

Link to the Wikipedia story:

Dead wrestler's Web page was altered
By HARRY R. WEBER, Associated Press Writer1 hour, 42 minutes ago

Investigators are looking into who altered pro wrestler Chris Benoit's Wikipedia entry to mention his wife's death hours before authorities discovered the bodies of the couple and their 7-year-old son.

Benoit's Wikipedia entry was altered early Monday to say that the wrestler had missed a match two days earlier because of his wife's death.

A Wikipedia official, Cary Bass, said Thursday that the entry was made by someone using an Internet protocol address registered in Stamford, Conn., where World Wrestling Entertainment is based.

Wikipedia told of death 14 hours before bodies found

By CHARLES YOO, SAEED AHMED
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 06/28/07
In what was a poorly thought through prank or an eerie forewarning, someone apparently reported the death of Chris Benoit's wife on Wikipedia — the online open source encyclopedia — more than 14 hours before police discovered her body, along with her son's and husband's, at the pro wrestler's Fayette County home.
An anonymous user edited the biography of the wrestler on Monday at 12:01 a.m., said Sandra Ordonez, communication manager for the Wikimedia Foundation, which runs the encyclopedia.

Authorities discovered the bodies at the Benoit's Green Meadow Lane home that afternoon, at 2:30 p.m.
The Monday morning posting said: "Chris Benoit was replaced by Johnny Nitro for the [ECW] Extreme Championship Wrestling Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy."
Adding to the mystery, the anonymous poster used a computer whose internet protocol, or IP, address was traced to Stamford, Conn., where the headquarters for Benoit's employer, for World Wrestling Entertainment, is located.
Investigators think Benoit, 40, killed his wife Friday and his 7-year-old son Daniel Saturday. He placed Bibles next to their bodies, authorities say. Sometime Sunday he hanged himself using a weight-machine pulley.
The posting now raises questions of who, if anyone, knew about the deaths and if so, when.
"We are looking at that, trying to track down the IP address," said Fayette Sheriff's Lt. Tammy Pope in a statement to WAGA-TV. "It's either true or it's a hoax."
Anyone can post and edit content on the Web encyclopedia. Further more, an IP address, which is a unique set of numbers that every machine connected to the Internet carries, does not necessarily have to be broadcast from where it is registered.
The IP address from which the 12:01 a.m. addition was made had been flagged for "vandalizing" other Wikipedia entries in the past, ABC News reported.
Earlier this month, the same IP user also edited a post about WWE wrestler Chavo Guerrero Jr., a close friend of Benoit's who reportedly was the recipient of at least one of the text messages Benoit sent over the weekend before the discovery of the bodies.
In that edit, the IP user took out a damaging description of Guerrero from the post, ABC News said.
Wikipedia does recruit volunteer editors who troll the entries to ensure that facts within posts are properly attributed.
According to a timeline posted on Wikinews, which is the news source of the nonprofit foundation, within an hour of the 12:01 post, the edit had been changed with the comment: "Need a reliable source. Saying that his wife died is a pretty big statement, you need to back it up with something."
Another hour went by. Then a second anonymous edit, using what appears to be an Australian Internet service provider, added the attribution: "according to several pro wrestling websites."
Again, the edit was changed after 20 minutes with the comment: "Saying 'several pro wrestling websites' is still not reliable information."
The posting was brought to the attention of the foundation, based in St. Petersburg, Fla., and an employee left a message with Fayetteville authorities about 11 a.m. Tuesday.
"We provided the IP address, and I guess they were investigating," Ordonez said.
The Chris Benoit entry, updated hundreds of times this week, has now been "locked" to prevent further edits by posters.

CruelGorean -> RE: Professional Wrestler Chris Benoit Dead (6/29/2007 8:21:16 PM)

I've been following this story closely since it broke. And it gets wierder and wierder, his wikipedia page was updated from stamford connecticut, headquarters of the WWE, and the text messages on his phone was altered, raids on the doctors office, and prescribed drugs for "low testosterone" Im sorry, but benoit was so fired up all of the time how in the sam hell could he have been on low testosterone? If anything he needed to be prescribed anti-depressants to calm him down a tad.  my personal opinion is, when the person that altered the page, and the text messages are found, a whole new case is going to be broken out. The WWE is getting alot of negative publicity because all of the guys and most of the women are on roids. No shit? really? And it's not the anabolic steroids that cause you to have "roid rage." Roid rage only lasts maybe a few hours at most. He His family died on seperate days, thruought the weekend, according to authorities. Not killed all at one time. Im sorry but I have to rule out roid rage. The true fact of the matter is, 3 people are dead and the case gets stranger and stranger by the minute.

Chris Benoit was great to watch and will be missed by every one who ever seen him wrestle and was a fan of his i know i will miss him

McMahon calls Benoit a "monster"

In an exclusive interview on TODAY, WWE chairman Vince McMahon backed off claims by his organization that steroids had nothing to do with the murder-suicide of wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife and 7-year-old son.

“Steroids may or may not have had anything to do with this,” McMahon told TODAY co-host Meredith Vieira. “It’s all speculation until the toxicology reports come back.”

That was a retreat from a statement World Wrestling Entertainment, based in Stamford, Conn., had put out earlier, in which the organization said “steroids were not and could not be related” to the deaths.

I had read on a news channel (the ones with headlines scrolling across the bottom of the screen) that he was giving his son growth hormones, haven't found it on line yet, tho. I really hope it turns out he didn't do this to them. But it is possible most likely it is true. I just wish we knew why he might have done it.

Actually Chris' wife Nancy will be missed by almost as many fans since she was known as *Woman*.
