Level -> PETA blasts Michael Moore (6/26/2007 3:33:18 AM)

By Jeannette WallsMSNBC PETA has a message for Michael Moore: You’re the Sicko
The animal-rights group is blasting the filmmaker as a hypocrite for criticizing the U.S. healthcare system in his new documentary, “Sicko,” because they say he’s in such poor health himself.

“There’s an elephant in the room, and it is you,” PETA president Ingrid Newkirk wrote in a letter to Moore.

I find P.E.T.A. as dispicable as Michael Moore let them argue.

Dammit ... I'd given up any hope for Windbag Moore.  But if PETA is against him,  then he must be doing something right.

Some of you may know my utter hatred of the PETArds.  That hatred usually has me purchasing the goods and services of companies I otherwise might not simply due to those know-nothing halfwits protesting them.

I still think the best thing ANY member of PETA could do for animals is what that one scientist who studied bears did a few years ... become part of the fucking food chain!

instynctive -> RE: PETA blasts Michael Moore (6/26/2007 6:22:02 AM)

PETA:

Animals

RazorJAK -> RE: PETA blasts Michael Moore (6/26/2007 6:44:16 AM)

One of the bumperstickers on my car:

Save an animal.  Eat a P.E.T.A.

domiguy -> RE: PETA blasts Michael Moore (6/26/2007 9:23:41 AM)

I can't stand peta...Have always found Moore to be enjoyable once you understand the parameters from which he operates.

I've put this out before...If God didn't want us to eat animals then they wouldn't be made out of meat.

Puerile slurs at best.  Since when, if suffering from a problem, is someone not allowed to recognize the larger problem?  He may be in poor health, but he's on to something.  There are glaring problems with healthcare today.  There are problems with prescription drug manufacturers and dependency on their products.  There are so many problems that it is hard to know where to begin.  Just because Michael Moore is overweight and out of shape doesn't change  that fact.  I may not agree with his tactics, but I applaud Moore's effort to reveal that truth.

babygirl005 -> RE: PETA blasts Michael Moore (6/26/2007 10:44:31 AM)

Lol. Ingrid Newkirk, that pillar of wisdom. She is the one who likened the barbequeing of 6 million chickens to the genocide of 6 million Jews.
This is a fight between morons.

If God didn't want us to eat animals He wouldn't have invented steak knives.
Or "A-1" sauce!

Exactly what truth has he revealed?  I don't think it was a secret that there are problems with the American healthcare industry.  Michael Moore didn't reveal anything that wasn't already well known.  Michael Moore not only didn't reveal any truth, but he assisted in telling blatant lies when he went to Cuba.  He didn't talk to anyone in Cuba that wasn't supplied to him by the totalitarian government's propaganda ministry.  When the fat bastard starts having health problems because of his girth, let's see if he goes down to Cuba to get his healthcare.

I can't stand PETA either, and this is nothing but another of their publicity stunts to draw in people that have always opposed them.  But if they want to bash this asshole, I applaud them.  It will be interesting to see how Hollywood leftists  reconcile their support for both Moore and PETA.

So when did you see the movie?  I find some of Michael Moore's work to be fantastic...Funny...Poignant and dead on....He does not make a true documentary....But much of what he depicts has tremendous relevance.

Unlike you, I have yet to see Sicko....Will probably be a few months ...Seems to be more of a rental.

Naturally it wasn't a secret, but most people wouldn't notice it unless they were looking.  Unfortunately the mass American public wouldn't notice much unless they were smacked upside the head with it, and even then they might try to deny what has been proven to them (i.e.- Bush and global warming).  Regardless, I should have phrased it better.  I applaud Moore's effort to draw attention to a glaring problem.  It may not be new, it may not have been completely clandestine, but it does need attention.  What better way to garner it than by catering to the masses through the media they so desperately eat up?

Masternslave07 -> RE: PETA blasts Michael Moore (6/26/2007 5:02:46 PM)

There is a difference in pointing out an issue and exploiting the issue for your gain. That is what Michael Moore does. His agenda is to make America look bad and make a profit while doing it. It is funny that he never mentions the fact that if you subtract the numbers of illegal aliens that are in the US, the number of uninsured drops dramatically. He never mentions all the hospitals that are forced to close their doors because they can't afford to treat the hordes of illegals that swamp their emergency rooms. Anyone who lives in Southern California can attest to that.
If you really need healthcare in the US, you can get it. There are plenty of free clinics that do that. It isn't the best care, but I don't see how bringing everyone's healthcare down to that level is the solution. And that is exactly what universal healthcare would be.
