original_sin -> RE: marks marks marks (7/18/2004 3:01:40 AM)

I just read a post about this on another site. So I cannot swear as to how well these work, but this is what others said. (and I agree, I do love my momentos .. but sometimes a huge whopping hickey for eg on your neck .. just wont do at work .. :P )
~
When you get a bruise, the first thing to do is to ice it -- immediately. This reduces the amount of swelling. It's also possible to speed up the healing process by taking the pineapple enzyme, bromelain (available in capsule form wherever supplements are sold). The enzyme is absorbed through the digestive tract and promotes healing of tissue injuries. Take 200 to 400 milligrams three times a day on an empty stomach (not within two hours of eating).
~
Homeopathic arnica can also help the body recover faster from trauma. Buy Arnica montana in 30x potency, and let the tablets dissolve under your tongue. (Do not handle them. Shake them into the bottle cap and then toss them into your mouth.) Take four tablets immediately, then four every hour while awake the first day. The second day, cut back to four tablets every two hours; then four tablets four times a day. Continue the treatment four to five days. You may also want to rub some arnica tincture on the bruise
~
After they're formed, like the next day or hours later, massage them. Deeply. Powerfully.
Get the blood moving out of there so it can be reabsorbed more quickly. Bruises are stagnant pools of congealing blood under our skin. Break them up, get them into dispersal mode--and the bruise will heal more swiftly.
~
Use a hairbrush to lightly strike the bruise; it'll help break up and dissipate it.
~
So there y'all go .. hope that is of some assistance. [:D]

Now here's someone with some sense. *laughs* i love the way the bruises look. The rings of purple around my wrist. The blue shading on my cheeks. The mottled blacks and violets against the paleness. Long live my bruises.

I can't imagine trying to make a girls marks go away..I mean...I put the effort in to put em there in the first place.

But...to answer the question...vitamin supplements work great. Lots of Vitimin C...that Vitimin K cream-stuff...

I told my slave that rubbing semen on it helps....I dont think she believes me....but she's not compaining, either.

Hope this was helpful...

They should go away after a few days or a week, depending on how easily you mark and what it was exactly that they did to you.

mmmm. needles.

Heroin addicts wear long sleeves even in summer to hide their tracks. For a wierd idea source try a diabetics board too, but you may not want to explain why you are using a needle.[:)]

melycious -> RE: marks marks marks (7/24/2004 6:09:57 AM)

I have enjoyed reading the responses, I am wondering about having a talk with the dominant before play and tell them you bruise easily, make sure they don't hit over old bruises. I find that by "ramping/buffing", spending time preparing the skin by light percussion with hands, paddles &/or light caning, one brings the blood to the surface, can work the sub longer with less bruising.

You may want to add a daily routine of caring for your skin with a Vitamin E& Aloe cream to keep the skin soft & supple.

My current play partner loves bruises & hates to see them fade. Our scenes usually end when there is no safe place to strike him that isn't bruised. I don't play him again until the bruises are healed.

I have his permission to add a picture of what his back looks like after a good session. I made him up business cards with the title Uberpainslut.

If they are infected (red, swollen, inflamed), you need to get to a doctor and get some antibiotics to clear it up. Or at least keep them covered with neosporin ointment so the body can get in there and heal them.

If they are just large needle marks, you might be able to get stuff called Scar-Go at a health food store which may help some.

Needle marks... One of the best things to do, that I have found...is to regularily rub down the area with purell...make sure they bleed a little. That will help keep the area clean. Dont, under any circumstances, use a cream or an ointment like neosporin on a needle puncture. The ointments trap any infection inside the body. ointments are good for cuts..baaaaad for punctures.

darkinshadows -> RE: marks marks marks (7/30/2004 7:08:22 PM)

vitamin K and arnica cream or tablet form...(sold at health stores)

NightDaughter -> RE: marks marks marks (8/15/2004 2:11:17 PM)

I've not found anything that help heal them fast yet, I've tried what's been mentioned, the best that I know is vitamin E and that is really only best for cuts (at least for me that's been the case) then again I think that some of people bursing does take longer to heal (mine can be upwards of a month depending on the type of bruse), such as someone who has diabetis or what have you.

well luck to you

SherriA -> RE: marks marks marks (8/15/2004 3:09:11 PM)

Try helichrysum italicum (from corsica) in a carrier of rose hip seed oil. Studies have shown that it's VERY effective in helping healing of bruises, scars, and closed wounds. Do NOT use essential oils on open wounds though.
