I tend to bruise easily, and often.

Sometimes iron deficiency will allow for easy bruising also - you may want that checked if you haven't already...

don't take asprin or asprin products, they thin the blood and therefore
increase bruising.

i am so glad i came and read this. i had my first bondage (light) experience and i too bruise very easy. i was in pain for almost 2 days and this was new to me. Oddly i too delight in the sight of the marks and i wondered if this was normal to like to see the marks of submission. The pain makes me feel closer to Master is this too normal?

devra,

Congratulations on your first experience.

Is it normal? Oh my, yes! All of it. From my p.o.v. anyway. I adore not only the wonderful visual momentos my Master leaves of our time together, but the tactile ones as well. I'll poke my sore spots, and twist just to feel the strain in my muscles for the comfort of knowing I still hurt. lol Only though I bruise easily, I heal fast as well. Oh well, it gives him a clean canvas to work on.

A contusion is a bruise, but not necessarily swollen. A hematoma is a swelling filled with blood. Sort of a bruise with a college degree! :)

As anyone who has had an IV line slip out of the vein (BTDT on both sides of the needle!) knows, blood or any fluid infiltrating tissue is painful.

While lancing a hematoma might relieve the swelling and pain, it would also create a breach in the tissue wall, opening injured tissues to possible infection.

My three cents

I take zinc (50 mg) daily, because it helps your body heal faster (from everything). You can take it twice a day (take with food) if you want something to heal faster still.
I take it for general health reasons... the drawback to it, for me, is that it makes me bruise less easily, and the bruises fade more quickly, because I love the bruises my Master gives me! :D

Arnica cream works very well. It is available in health food stores and online

I am not sure if any mentioned arnica oil but it helps. You can get in most health food type stores.

The only way to heal a bruise is to immediately apply ice or a cold compress to constrict the blood that is pooling in the area. That is after all what a bruise is. Vitamin K and Vitamin E are both good for your skin and being in general good health, taking suppliments, eating healthy and getting enough sleep will all help your body heal itself faster. Personally, I love my marks and hate it when they begin to fade. Master and I just know where to put them so they remain private!

I take Arnica Montana and also use the Arnica cream externally....it really does work wonders.

any suggestions for marks left by needles? they don't seem to be going away.

jill

Have you tried taking an ice cube and rubbing it against the punctured skin directly after the incision has been made? Also, applying Vitamine E oil directly to the wound helps repair the skin faster. This has always helped me out and my marks arent noticeable unless I point them out.

Hope this has helped :)
