President Bush was handed a stunning defeat today when the Senate voted down his "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" (Amnesty) Bill.
Republican Senators jumped ship on him by a large number.
When Republicans are no longer afraid to oppose Bush's programs I think ol' Bush has now become a "Lame Duck."
More and more are opposing his Iraq programs too.
I think today's vote has "Officially" made Bush a Lame Duck.
What do you think?

The constant ''chipping away '' of their credibility, stature and authority is fucking beautiful.

What I'd really like to see though....is a complete mutiny, staged and sustained by the US military.

Status: offline 		Doesn't the US political system of limiting a President to two terms in office render all Presidents mid way through their second term a lame duck because everyone will be looking towards the next President?

This is true for all 2nd term presidents unless you have single party government and certainly after they lose the single party attribute...they become the lamest of ducks. It is as much the American voter that gave this 'one' the luxury of lame duck status.

Meat, that's true, it's kind of "built-in" that way but after yesterday's vote in the Senate I think we can assume that his status is now "official."

Bush has been a lame duck since he went to prep school, threw things at high school seniors who didnt go to football games, mixed trash cans full of liquor, went AWOL from the national guard, utilized eminent domain improperly, made company after company go belly up so the Saudis could bail them out, stated while giving a speech that he had to sign an unpopular law into existence in order to protect his invest..., etc.

I think we should build a bridge out of him.
