What about the people in stop and go traffic while driving over the overpass on the freeway?

Do they have homes?

I thought I'd start this thread for those pesky odd questions that everyone must have and that maybe someone else in here might know the answer to but that you can't really find answers to online.

Here's one.
Why is it that it seems that really old, old people drive Buicks?
Everytime I get stuck behind someone in traffic it's invariably some q-tip in a Buick doing 20 mph under the limit.
I think there must be an age limit to buy a Buick, maybe 80 years old minimum.
Anyone else notice this?

(I actually may agree with you on this...and they should be shot).

(Again, and again, and again, and.....)

DarkDreams123 -> RE: Odd Questions (6/29/2007 7:08:37 PM)

I live under the overpass.
When a car drives over me, is it driving over the overpass or driving on the overpass?
When I walk under the overpass, am I walking in the underpass?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Sorry to hijack the thread a little bit more regarding english sweets, but it is a subject close to my heart or should that be stomach?
My hubby and I moved  from the UK to Toronto 19 years ago with our eldest um and one in the oven. We miss so many different things....marmite, salad cream, branston pickle, clotted cream, real cornish pasties, schwepps bitter lemon,  walkers cheese and onion crisps,.....sweets/candys include, minstrels, galaxy choccy(better than cadbury in my opinion) milky bar(white chocolate), refreshers, sherbert dib dabs, cadburys buttons, caramac, toffo, curly whurlys and mostly Trebor Extra Strong Mints, (they make altoids look like beginners). I  went to england back in march for the first time in ten years and came back with a full case of goodies for us all.  we have just run out so I will be doing some online shopping, gotta love the interweb
I found this shop too

Okay, with all this talk about candy from the U.K., why hasn't anyone mentioned TOFFEE CRISPS? OMG! [8D]
My cousin is very fond of Malteasers, but to me they're not all that different than regular malted milk balls, just more expensive.
i did love the whimsical names... Munchies, Crunchies, and Crispies; The Big Green Triangle, the Big Toffee Finger, and The Big Purple One... i thought "Turkish Delight" sounded like something you'd get at a massage parlor, tho...

Oh, and my question: Where the hell do our salesmen keep digging up accounts that literally can't keep $2.00 in their business checking account? Sonovabitch!

Pandamonum -> RE: Odd Questions (6/29/2007 8:51:30 PM)

Here's mine: What happens to people in the middle of a midlife crisis that makes the corvette walk for you? And if it is for you could you make it go faster? Your in my way.

No problem, hijack away! That's the only thing that would keep this thread going.
I just finished a Nestle's Crunch bar.

...what use is a wasp?

Bird food.

Cat toy.

A wrapped box of them, especially after a vigorous shake in a "guess what's in here" attempt, makes for a lively birthday party.

Errr ... unless you were talking about a white anglo saxon protestant.

Get a bunch of them worked up and pack them in a cigar tube and you have a cheap homemade vibrator.  [sm=tongue.gif]

Oh, and another odd question, what the hell is it about women's clothing sizes?
One woman can be 5'2" and a "size 6" and another woman can be 5'10" and a "size 6"!
Us guys just can't figure it out.

lol, honestly, as a woman, i can't figure it out either *smile*...although i do know that the length of a bottom (skirt/trousers/shorts) do not have any effect on the size chart per se....

trixxitrash -> RE: Odd Questions (6/30/2007 2:57:32 AM)

Hey, I'm only 34 and I once owned a Buick Skyhawk.

SubinMaine -> RE: Odd Questions (6/30/2007 3:21:43 AM)

Pondering why phonetic isn't spelled the way it sounds....

PeterJay -> RE: Odd Questions (6/30/2007 3:27:39 AM)

OH YEA!! I with Popeye.  I'll take a Gran Maquis over a Buick any day of the week. Now there is a sports car. They come in sporty colors, two doors, sometimes a wing on the truck lid.......oh wait that's the Grand Am. The only people I see driving Gran Marquis are old people & cops and I don't see a badge. So which one are you? Lay off the Buick people.

Vendaval -> RE: Odd Questions (6/30/2007 6:00:15 AM)

Thanks for the link, Lucy.

Can you say this 3 times without stumbling over your words?
And what exactly is it?  Do you eat it or put it on a man's body?  lol

philosophy -> RE: Odd Questions (6/30/2007 6:48:10 AM)

ooooh, it's delicious........

Vendaval -> RE: Odd Questions (6/30/2007 6:55:19 AM)

Ah...I like sushi and sashimi but anchovy paste?  No thank you.
Sounds like an "acquired taste" you need to get used to while growing up.
Either that or it goes well with hard alcohol in which case all previous expectations cease to matter.

Bottoms up!

PeterJay, I wasn't making a judgement, merely an observation.
And of course a Mercury Grand Marquis isn't a sportscar, it's a luxury car with that "fat" ride.
And no, you don't see a lot of young people driving that model of mercury either.
And like I said in a previous post Buick makes a very nice car!
It's just that they seem to be favored by the geriatric set for whatever reason.
