Doms profiles - 7/3/2007 1:22:41 PM

Status: offline 		I'm just wondering if anyone replies to Doms who have basically empty profiles, just a few sentances of standard information and nothing else? I tend to get these alot and often dont even bother with a reply. Whats everyones opinion on this?

Status: offline 		I am a profile junkie...Im not here looking for anybody, just enjoy the forums, and it states that rather obviously on my profile, and I still get mail asking if I want to move to Oregon and be there slave...But I do love browsing through profiles, I really enjoy it and often write to people who have something interesting on their profile. I hate when people dont put ANYTHING on there...

Status: offline 		When I was looking, and someone with very little on their profile contacted me, I was 'polite' as I could be depending on their email; basically, a blank profile was/is a warning flag to me, saying that that person either doesn't have much conversational skills or they would give you enough to be able to converse on, or they are a troll; either way, delete and move on.
 
Why have a balnk profile?? Even if you are just here for the boards, someone can put, very simply 'here for the forums.' Its short, its sweet, its to the point. It saves time. I have always tried to maintain some info on my profile, even now it has info on it, even though I am here for boards and to talk to others, just not 'looking' for a partner.  Some people are just plain lazy and timewasters.

When that got boring, I'd reply simply with a question mark.  he heee

Status: offline 		I find most dom types don't fill out anything in their profiles. Most of the guys responding to me have empty profiles. I answer them anyway, cuz you just never know. But it IS true that if they don't even have the interest to fill it out, they wouldn't be good in a relationship. And, if they don't have the TIME to fill it out, they don't have the time for a relationship. You do make a good point.

Status: offline 		i feel why bother wasting time in messaging them if the dom prefers to have nothing written on his profile (however that excludes Daddy who rarely visits CM when He has free time).

Status: offline 		I'm with MstrssPassion and MellowSir on this one.  Having a lengthy, descriptive profile isn't a guarantee that you'll receive replies, let alone unsolicited messages.  It's fallacious, however, to say that, ipso facto, your profile length doesn't matter because you won't get (m)any responses.  I wouldn't be surprised if many Doms with empty profiles don't bother because they use the "throw enough stuff at the wall" approach to messaging, but that's speculation on my part.

even if specifically comment on something in their profile

If a femsub has an empty profile I don't waist my time

I can't tell you how many ladies contact me, spouting such great compliments about my profile only for a conversation to go something like ...
 
Her: "Who's 'Jo'?"
 
Me: "She's my partner."
 
Her: "Why are you on Collarme, if you have a partner?"
 
Now, in all fairness my profile doesn't state, immediately, at the top, that I am polyamorous but, if you're going to "gush" about my profile, read all of it, please? LOL! It's happened far too many times for it to be coincidental.

Male dominants can hardly bitch about the lack of response when they send out "form letters" to ladies and put little effort into their own profiles. Those of us that don't fall into that category have to remember that the ladies are inundated by those that do fall into that category and the time consumption (that's pronounced: "waste", for those of you, in Poughkeepsie) can get quite daunting.
 
All-in-all, it's not a perfect world and just as anywhere else, we need to seperate the good eggs from the bad ones.

Sure I reply. I very rarely look at profiles. Since I'm just here to 'talk' ,profile information or lack of makes no difference to me.

Me too...lol. Just depends on if i feel like a smart ass or not. I love sending messages saying, "Thank you for your interest, but since there is nothing on your profile we don't have much to talk about. Empty profiles are usually a sign of someone who doesn't know how to be communiative, and since long intellectual conversations are a must i don't bother. Even with those reply, I get replies where they are expecting me to do most of the questioning and conversation starter. I don't have time to be the entertain all the time, and have never found this situation to place me in a position to want ot let them dominate me.

Status: offline 		I met him on another site and that was his profile, damn near nonexistent. His email was a one liner saying that he thought we had things in common.

He's not a writer. I proof read his business letters (self employed) because I'm better at writing than he is.

He's got more degrees than I am but all in math and engineering. I can design a house by working with an architect but he can draw the blueprints and then build the house himself.

If I went looking for men with great profiles and witty emails I wouldn't be with him. I'd be with an author, an editor, a marketing specialist, psychologist or various other liberal arts types. I like liberal arts types, I'm one of them but I don't get turned on by them. I get turned on by college educated men with blue collar hands, men who are incredibly competent in the practicalities of life as opposed to the theoretical or emotional parts.

And by being competent in different fields, we make a great team.

Status: offline 		I'm with Celeste. Just because some doesn't say much on his/her profile it doesn't mean that they don't have anything to say in general. I give anyone who e-mails me the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes you need to actually talk on the phone to know whether or not someone can communicate and even after that you still can be surprised.
