There was a call today on dr. laura by a women who's sister and brother in lw just reently got into BDSM. The caller wanted to know if it was proper to allow her child to go over to her sisters house. Dr. Laura said absoultly not. Why would you let your daughter go over there. Any place there is violence is not a place for a child. Even though the caller explained that they were not doing S&M in front of the children. She was jsut being submissive to her husband.
Don't know what to think here.

Think whatever your heart leads you to think. Dr Laura has been fighting against the lifestyle for year's now.
She is not our friend, I would'nt expect anything less from her.

Dr. Laura has some fairly conservative views on a lot of things concerning sex. Also, I think it's important to remember that this woman is a doctor not of psychology or any social science; rather she's got a Doctorate in something like Physical education or something of that nature if I remember correctly.

Obviously, I'm going to proffer my opinion here, and your mileage may vary...

BDSM/Kink/SM/B&D/WIIWD usually (but not always) involves some kind of sexual activity. When sexual activity occurs between consenting adults, it generally is not performed in front of children. If it is performed in front of minor children, we have words and laws for that.

So, I guess my question to the caller would be, why does kink have anything to do with whether you let your kids go there or not? These people aren't strangers; these people are family. Unless it's a family practice to have sex in front of the kids, I'd think it would be perfectly safe.

I think when things get slow in Dr. Laura land she pays some assistant intern to go call in about BDSM or homosexuality. Personally i'd like to whip her into a frenzy in the middle of a gay leather bar. But that's just me ;)

I have always believed that "Dr" Laura is an opinionated twit and a bully. I take nothing she says seriously.

I can't imagine a worse person to ask advice. If I remember correctly, Dr. Laura did not speak to her mother for many years, and her mother eventually died in her apartment without her body being discovered for at least a week. If she can not even make her own relationships work or take care of her own family, why would anyone think she could provide any useful information concerning anyone else's relationships?

I have never heard ehr speak on BDSM before so was surprised to hear that she ahd even taken that call!

My mother listens to Dr Laura all the time and every now and then i'm in the car with her. Master was there once and he HEARD Dr Laura. LOLOLOL on his reaction. He gave me a look as to say "Dont you care believe any of this stuff"

Good way to find out..wait a month a law was just passed all nude pics on the internet must have a release attached from the person the pic is of.

A lot of websites are already shutting down.

Who is they? That certainly is one word I'd never use to define you.

To me the photo still does not look like the pic on her website. However, I do stand corrected because you had one valid artile in your list of sites.

I'll watch it to see if it disappears...my guess is it will. I follow up on such items.

So then I'm gullible, either way life goes on.

The sites have been up since 1998 and the court ruling goes back a long time too. The story was that her ex boyfriend, who I believe was also her psychiatric mentor. He published them after he found her radio show hypocritical. I guess the story is a warning about trusting people who you allow to take pictures. I think some of the articles sited show that.

I was reminiscing about "The Fonz" and smiling when I read your last post. Reminded me of me. Damn - I'll feel REAL old (older?) if no one gets that reference.

Code 2256/2257 requiring model release, age verification and records maintenance has been law for many years. Is there something else?
