Home for me is where i feel completely at ease to be myself. Where I know no matter what, i can be myself. I could sum it up quickly by saying home is where ever i have a pair of slippers that live there *S*
That would be where I'm living now, though it took over a year for me to feel at home here. I moved in, in May 2005, but didn't fully finish unpacking until just before this Christmas. My life was in a huge upheaval and it took me that long to finally "settle in" Wierdly enough, that started when my previous Dom started spending his days off here with us. Even though he's not with us anymore, this place still has the feeling of home. There are finally pictures on the wall and a sense of being here.
The other place is my best friends. I couple I lived with before i got married and moved away. No matter where they were living, going to their place was like going home. I still have a pair of slippers that stay in thier closet for when I'm there. It's like I never left alot of the time. Even old habits from years before when I lived there just automatically fell back into place, lol much to my embarrassment. *S*
What's funny, is the house I owned when i lived in Edmonton with my husband, never felt like a home. Probably why it wasn't that hard to leave it.
