No, I don't. [8|]

CrimsonMoan -> RE: Do you believe in UFOs/aliens? (7/8/2007 3:46:53 PM)

I am not so arrogant as to believe that we are the only intelligent life force in the universe. Now if they are really smart they would stay the heck away from our planet and all the crazies. I grew up in vegas not that far from Area 51 my dad was in the air force, that enough explonation?

I just watched a piece on ABC news about how former Governor Fife Simington, President Jimmy Carter, and one of the Mercury astronauts, Gordon Cooper, all claim to have seen a UFO.  Makes you go hmm.

cuddleheart50 -> RE: Do you believe in UFOs/aliens? (7/8/2007 3:52:44 PM)

Can you imagine yourself and thousands of others going to another planet for many, many years, and Never being caught....that makes me go hmmm.

Level -> RE: Do you believe in UFOs/aliens? (7/8/2007 4:06:23 PM)

Which other planet? [:D]

cuddleheart50 -> RE: Do you believe in UFOs/aliens? (7/8/2007 4:11:08 PM)

Aliens? Yes. The Drake equasion just keeps making them more and more likely, as we learn about how common extrasolar planets are: They seem to be the rule, not the exception. Life surely has developed on them wherever the conditions were right for it. Out of them, I'm sure some fraction evolved into something we would consider intelligent.

UFOs? Not so much. I'll keep an open mind, but until someone comes up with some solid evidence...

First, who is to say that they have not been caught?  (i.e. Roswell, N.M.)  Second, we live in what we consider a pretty technologically advanced society...yet we have barely been able to even visit our moon, let alone a different planet in our own solar system.  If we are having UFO type visitors they are most likely coming from far distant solar systems...not just neighboring planets.  For them to be able to do so would require a technology so far in advance of our own that it would be like comparing an atomic bomb to a cave man's stick club...or more.  With that kind of technology they should easily be able to avoid detection or being "caught" unless they want to be.

With the millions and billions of galaxies, each with millions and billions of stars, and with all the millions and billions of planets circling those stars, I too have to agree with CrimsonMoan that we would have to be pretty arrogant to believe that we are the only intelligent life in the universe.

Lashra -> RE: Do you believe in UFOs/aliens? (7/8/2007 7:06:51 PM)

Definitely...With all the planets out in the universe why would only ONE have life on it? It doesn't make sense. I believe they are out there, they just don't come here because humans are so primitive and our planet is turning into a toxic waste dump. Why vacation in the sewer when you can go somewhere really nice?[&:]

I don't believe we're the only intelligent life force in the entire universe.  But, beings as how we're just a speck of dust amongst the millions and billions of galaxies in all the vastness of the universe, I have a hard time believing the spooky little creatures we supposedly have caught actually found us here.

velvetears -> RE: Do you believe in UFOs/aliens? (7/8/2007 7:26:25 PM)

yes i do.... it's my only hope when i think of being recycled to a better planet next time around [:D]

It is really not all that difficult to believe that they could find us.  Radio and television waves aren't bound strictly to the earth, they are also being beamed into space...every television show, every radio program, even your cell phone calles...all being beamed into space, traveling at the speed of light, and even weak signals will travel vast distances in the vacuum of space.  All the ETs have to do is "find" one of these signals and follow it back to it's origion...Earth.

There are also those that believe that UFOs have been visiting Earth since the beginning of mankind.  In the book of Ezekial in the Bible it speaks of Ezekial seeing wheels in the sky, and wheels within wheels, with what is apparently windows and faces in the windows.  UFOs?  Hmmm....maybe.  A good read is Eric VonDaniken's (sp?) book "Chariots of the Gods".  A lot of interesting information and theory there to think about.

In the ancient Aztec ruins there are carvings in their stone walls of what appears to be humans in space suits surounded by what looks like a wall of dials and guages and levers.  Why would the Aztecs have carved something like that unless they had actually seens something like that?  Were they visited by ETs?

I really don't think we were only recently found.  I think we have been watched and studied for many years.
