I have had a name that a past dom gave me, it was something that was special to him, but didn't do much for me. My Master now has a name for me, though he really doesn't use it. I think if I told him I wanted to change my name and I don't mind him using it all of the time, he would. He just doesn't want my identity taken away from me, and he knows that my name is defining in who I have become.

I am a member of the SCA, Ghita is my 14th century Italian persona name....Sir and I did the research together to find a name we could document to 14th cent Italy that He liked (I wanted Tessa but he said I didnt look like a Tessa) anyway, over the years..its become more of my "real" name than my birth name...in that 90% of my friends are also in the SCA, so they all call me that...most of our local scene crowd is also in the SCA, so they call me Ghita, and the ones who arent in the SCA got introduced to me by people who ARE in the SCA, so they call me Ghita too..we even got married at an SCA event, and my Sir said his wedding vows to Ghita and not to my birth name. Heck, even my mom calls me Ghita at SCA events now....got her hooked too.... So, yea...Sir gave me a name..has nothing to do with submissiveness...and Im sure lots of people have lots of different reasons for different names.....

Master chose this name for me 3 years ago when i first became his slave. It was a way of seperating my old life from my new one. It worked then and still does for both of us.

S I told Robert, who everyone called "Bob" when we met that I prefer using the formal aspect of a name vs. the shortened. I also have a name for him that I choose not to share as it is something just for us and I only use it very occasionally and usually during intimate times (not sexual, but intimate).

With my last Master, he had two names for me, one was slave and the other was bear. Slave was used in his House. In a social setting and when introducing me to his friends, I was introduced as bear and this was used when he would indicate that he wanted top play. Once he had taken "possesion" of me, my birth name was rarely used at all.

Hey there nice question......my Master chooses to call me by my full name Candace instead of the shorten name i have been called all my life Candy.......it took awhile for me to get used to it ...when growing up pretty much the only time i was called Candace was when i was in TROUBLE...and it was usually accompanied by my middle name as well.....LOL

Sir calls me by several different pet names. one of which he had engraved on a silver bracelet that i always wear. mostly i'm his little girl, though....and part of that is because i'm short. :) kitten, who despises her given names, no matter HOW much her mama adores them....

i was given a Gorean scene name by Mistress, it means secret treasure. i was elated to be reveered in that manner.

When my ex-girlfriend first introduced me to BDSM and my new role as her submissive she gave me the name Tiffany. She made it very clear that when it was just her and I alone I was to always be refered to by that name. It helped me quite a bit in adjusting to our new relationship - in the begining I found myself more able to get into the correct mindset and thus making her happy. I eventually came to enjoy the association of my new name with my new role though I've long since ditched that name since we broke up.

A new name would be fun, but it's hard to beat the one I have now. I find however that "kitty" comes up very often as a pet name. I'm really sleepy, right now. Ugg!

Jinx gave me the name aria, which means, loosely "beautiful song." It really does change my mindset when He uses it....but He's taken to calling me aria during formal occasions...and "punky" the rest of the time.

I think it can help give a person a new start to have their owner address them by a new name. My Master and Mistress gave me a new name, that is used around the house, and it has helped a bit get rid of the many years of bad experiences I have had in the lifestyle, for the name they gave me means "cherish", I was told that is how they feel about me, they cherish me and wanted me very much to join their household.

A couple years ago i attended an event with a Dom whom i agreed to obey for the weekend. My online nick was peppermint and he decided to introduce me to everyone as "peppermint pattie." By the way, my real name is Pat. Well, i met my present Dom, Gary at the event. Gary called me pattie, believing it was my preferred name. He introduced me to his family and friends as pattie. Only problem is that i really HATE being called pattie. Now i'm stuck with it....and i don't like it one bit. Gary now calls me pat even though everyone else calls me pattie.....(sighs)

Often times in the Gorean community you will see/hear names used that aren't the persons birth name. I adore the idea. I've never had my name change, but I look forward to the day it happens.

she has serviced in a House that in the beginning was of Old Guard.....and was addressed with only my middle name due to respect to my Father's House where my first name was used.....the last 10 years of the last House served....He went from Old Guard into Gorean and He also renamed all within His House.... the present House of Wolf that this one is serving...she is called beta.....

Everyone and I mean everyone calls me Jennifer. My parents refused to let me use Jenny while growing up. Ugh, ew, sigh cuz it is such a boring name. My dom calls me Jennifer along with special endearments like 'his baby girl' or just 'pet' mmmmm pet. I'm going to start using mstrjx's way of changing that to using my middle name which is a name I just love. Camille. That, incidently is where cjenny came from lol. I get a kick out of being called cj here, its my first nickname! I do wish however I could change my screen name here without having to start everything over. If you see a Camille appear over the next week or so it just might be me [:D] . So I'm going to start signing everything J Camille Yadda. He did in the beginning. The theory was that if I was called by another name, then I would be able to enter into difficult role play. Didn't work so we've pretty much dropped it.
